With the additions of the new ranks in the Pridelands, unknown to everyone except a few, new King Tau called for aid from the Pridelands' ally, the Tianxia. Sent from the Tianxia's North house, the militaristic house, by order of the Emperor Hanjari, captain Thrain has arrived recently with a small group of others with the intent of shaping up the Pridelands' small, but growing military strength. While general training is now underway and some have gotten some one-on-one time with the visiting captain, he has called for a group training activity, assuring that this will be a relatively casual exercise and nothing overly strenuous.
Those interested in participating, regardless is they're a soldier of not, have been told to gather just before dawn on the northeastern base of Pride Rock. The breeze has certainly picked up since sunset the previous day and now the clouds travel swiftly across the still-dark sky, carrying blades of grass.

Hraban stood just behind his Captain, quietly (if curiously) watching some Pridelanders linger around, while others were clearly giving them to cold shoulder. He assumed it was those who disagreed with the soldier training (which he could understand, to a point), and tried to enjoy himself. This was about as close to a vacation as he would ever get, and possibly the only (and last) time he would leave the Tianxia lands. He wanted to soak up this experience, as well as enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Hopefully his large stature wouldn't deter anyone from training with him.
To say that Swafi was nervous would be an understatement. He had never done anything out of the ordinary in his life, but he was very interested in what this training was. Perhaps it would give him something to do, to break away from the monotony that his life had fallen into. He stood near a few others, picking at the grass in nervousness. Well, he had to start from somewhere, and he couldn't fall any further than the bottom, at the very least!

The news of a training session had spread like wild fire. Halisi had mulled over the idea of learning to fight from lions that did it for a living and, eventually, decided to go to see what it was all about. She was a Nanny but the talk of those visions had scared her so much she had run back to the cubs area as soon as she could to make sure they were safe. If some strange lions or...or something else attacked the pride, she'd want to defend the cubs with her life. She was a decent huntress when working with others, usually the one to make the kill, so she knew she had some prowess at least. It was more her personality and demeanor she needed to toughen up. Surely some lessons wouldn't hurt!
She made her way to the area where the other lions were beginning to gather, but kept to herself. She didn't recognize anyone she knew just yet and that was her downfall. She was so quiet and shy that she was often overlooked in the crowds. Still, Halisi knew that if she wanted to be the best Nanny she could be, to protect the future of the pride, she'd have to try her best here and learn what these lions had to offer.

The turnout was...small, to say the least. It was disappointing, but there was nothing that Thrain could do. The visions, their timing, everything seemed to be working against him, but he couldn't control that and he could only work on completing his mission well enough. He might have been born in the Pridelands, but he was far from the Pridelander he had been in his youth. He was muscled, standing proud as he watched as the few lions approached, obviously with the intention of participating.
As Areoiris approached, Thrain had to do a visible double-take, his body tensing momentarily. His coat was...familiar. Too familiar. He knew of one other lion that resembled him, but it was obvious that that demon was not in the Pridelands and was still rotting away in the Tianxia's North House. All of them were of markings and colors he had never seen before, likely born after he had left or old blood he had never met.
Golden eyes passed over the lions before him, scanning each, looking them over them and their features to minimally assess each one of them. "Hm...at least all are brave enough to come." Thrain added as he paced before the lot. Coming to a halt with Hraban still standing behind him, the captain straightened, his mane flowing into his face. "I am Thrain, captain of the Bai Ren of the Tianxia. Your king has asked me to train you, any soldiers within the pride and anyone else willing to learn. Do any of you have any questions before we begin?"
[OOC]
You're welcome to have your lion jump in even if you haven't posted yet. They can either be a late-comer or have just been silent so far.
I will be posting tomorrow at noon CST.

It wasn't often that someone did a double take of his coloration. Sure, someone would stare for a moment but not the way the this foreign male did. This made his mind wander for a bit, had he seen someone like him before? This rose up many questions, but he would not speak them. He looked at the male wondering if perhaps he might ask him a question but when nothing was said he let it go and he walked closer towards Thrain so he could get a better look at him.
It wasn't hard for Areo to stand out. There weren't a high average of cubs born to gods around here, let alone cubs born of the filth that gave him his colors. He was most certain throughout the lands there were many half siblings he didn't know, though he wasn't sure if he cared to ever know who they were. Ears perked as he listened to the male speak. Hmmm. Was there to be a war soon?
He had been scouting the boarders very regularly and his visions, as random as they were never predicted anything terribly bad coming this way. Though who was he to say if he would ever see such a thing. He couldn't not control when or what he saw. "I'm sure that this is going to be a given, but I thought I'd ask non-the-less.... Are we expecting a war to break out anytime soon?" He was curious. The only time you ever needed trained Soldiers was in times such as that, or to at least prevent one. He was young, but he wasn't naïve to the ways of the world.
Not only that but he had been haunted by an ever ending darkness and the sounds of screams and turmoil. He hadn't been at the meeting that had been held as he was out to far to make it back in time, but still. Lately his visions had been there, creeping on him in the middle of the night while he slept. He knew what they were for Mati had visions, but far worse than he ever would. Though these, these haunted him. It was the sounds of death.
Yet...
His blood seem to boil with the idea of war, blood and carnage. It wasn't a feeling that made his stomach churn. Why couldn't his father been anything else, ANYONE else. "And it's a pleasure to have you among us." He added with a nod of his head. He wondered if his siblings would show up.

Three close knit females joined the growing congregation. Leading their little group was Calypso, whose scarred hide was second only to her impressive size. She stood tall over the other two while taking stock of the Captain's "forces". It wasn't...perfect, but perhaps something could be done with them. Calypso didn't expect much from a peaceful pride like this, but she had hoped...
Shaking her head, she moved to the front after giving an affectionate rub to her mate's cheek. Hecate licked her in return, which served to bring out an embarrassed little smile to Caly. It didn't last long before her mask of stoic resolve took over.
"Thank you for making the journey, Thrain." Dipping her head in a respectful bow, Caly lifted her gaze, ready to see what this Captain had to teach them.
Hecate wasn't as hung up on this exercise as her mate. The Healer would have liked to have remained back in her den, where she could catch a light nap or even catch up on her gossip. Calypso had been so worried, though, that she had no little choice in accompanying her mate. She had to admit; this had to be big if the seers were having fits, and the Tianxia was called in. "Better over prepared than under, I guess." Hecate grumbled, fighting back a yawn. "I just hope this doesn't take too long. It's too hot for this."
"Are you serious right now?" Fatimah snapped. "How can you be so smart, but so simple at the same time? Gods, Hecate..." Reaching up, the short tempered lioness pinched the bridge of her nose. What Calypso saw in her she would never know. Sure, Hecate was gorgeous, but she was also extremely flighty. Why is she even here if she's going to complain the whole time? "We're here to protect the pride. Your mate is trying to help, so why can't you?"
Hecate's sharp stare did nothing to strike fear into Fatimah. There was little that scared the swamp born lioness, but this whole thing with the seers did. She was superstitious; and who wouldn't be, after seeing all of this?

A familiar voice, no... voices caused him to turn his head and low and behold were three VERY familiar faces. One of which he had hopelessly flirted with and he honestly really wasn't sure what that was just yet. He was honestly, quite confused about the whole thing, but still. He was just going with it. He hadn't thought they had seen them yet it seemed and he moved through the rather small crowd towards them. He was honestly the largest lion here, easily.
"Well aren't you ladies a sight for sore eyes." He said winking at Hecate after giving a warm bow of his head to Caly and Fatimah. It had appeared he had interrupted them during a rather heated moment for he could feel the tension among them, maybe his large presence would help ease that a bit. "I'm surprised you're not packing some bandages in case someone hurts a paw." His attention was to Hecate, he knew she was only really skilled at healing and probably a decent hunter but not so much a fighter. He was quite surprised she was out here, but then again, you never really could tell about someone. "Were any of you at the meeting the other day? I wasn't able to make it unfortunately." He was most certain everyone knew he was a seer, any child of a god was so he had a SLIGHT clue about what was going on.

"Grandfather, wait!"
The group of stragglers that Hraban notices was not just any old group, but an outsider wouldn't know what he was looking at, as many members shared the same range of golden-brown coat that was known throughout the land.
"Serious...ly..." The voice suddenly dropped, as if realizing that he was yelling far too loud, and everyone could hear him.
"Now, now. You need to be here to show that the Crown is behind this effort one hundred percent. I'm retired, but it still feels like I have to do everything around here!" The second voice was deep, and crackled around the edges with age.
To those who lived here, it was clear that Simi had dragged Tau out to the training grounds, and wasn't going to listen to anything the current King had to say. And who was to blame old Simi? Though he was once King, now 'merely' on the council, the wisdom that the old lion had was hard to ignore.
The two of them arrived on the outskirts of the gathering group, Tau's ears swiveling around as if trying to decide what he should do next. This was not how he thought today would go, and the last thing he wanted to do was crash Thrain's control over the situation.
"Well, I see that we have some volunteers. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to be here," Simi said with a nod to the group. Tau just wanted to ground to swallow him up, if only because he clearly was not in control of this situation as a king.
A gaggle of curious lions had followed the duo, and so the training numbers swelled a bit.

((Still haven't had her recerted as a guardian, whoops!))
Nondo'vuta had moved swiftly towards the edge of the group and had remained quite for awhile. The dark lioness seemed to loom ominously, her blood red eyes moving over Thrain. She had been fortunate enough to have already met with the Captain.
Though it was clear they were here to help, and were obvious allies, Nondo knew little about the Tianxia and so it awoke a curiousity within her. She found these newcomers... interesting, certainly.
Nondo was as serious as ever about her role in the pride, and though this was probably not going to be an entirely serious and difficult session, she approached it with the same attitude as always.
The lioness nodded briskly towards the Captain and a few others. She recognized one of the other guardians, Calypso, and gave her a warm smile.
She was also glad to see that Tau, and particularly Simi, had joined the group, and bobbed her head towards them gently.
