Sam the snake slithered out into the arena. Despite the cheering and the noise he kept his head down and his eyes focused on his opponent. Same was a naga of considerable size. His long body bore the markings of a cobra, and his scaled bald head proudly exhibited the hood of his species proudly. He bared his fangs at his opponent while fingering a two prong spear in his left hand. He sneered at his opponent and loosened one of several throwing knives strapped to his long body. With a flick of his wrist, he sent one hurling end over end at his enemy for the moment.

Max had been waiting for this fight ever since the matchups had been drawn. Of course fate had given him the cobra, and he was welcome for the challenge. As the cobra, he looked the spitting image of his own species, the yellow mongoose. Golden fur with tints of red and white with orange eyes made it obvious for anyone. He had dark maroon streaks of paint under his eyes and on his arms giving him a warrior's look, and wore two sizable kukri knives on a belt (that looked suspiciously of snakeskin) around his waist. The only clothes he wore were a simple pair of maroon pants that matched his paint. He rushed the cobra, only to take a quick knife throw in his chest. But he only growled and pulled it out, not even slowing down as he attempted to leap at the cobra and stab its own knife into its chest in retaliation.

Sam's blade dug into the mongoose's flesh, and there came a clash of their bodies a moment after. he felt his own blade slice into his scales, scoring deeply into his hide. Sam rolled across the ground in an attempt to bowl Max over and stabbed at him with his spear.

Max was able to stay on his feet and get no more than a nick from the spear, he growled and grabbed at the haft under the spearhead to try to keep it still while he aimed a clawed kick at the cobra with a growl.

Max was fast, yet so was Sam. Just as quickly as the mongoose moved to avoid his attack, Sam slithered and shifted away. He felt the claw click over his scales. With a snap of his tail he attempted to crack Max viciously across his torso.

Max jumped back with speed and agility and though took a light hit from the tail, leapt right back in, attempting to body tackle the cobra and sink his teeth into his neck just as viciously back.

The mongoose was fast. Sam flared his hood and with a hiss of pain he felt Max tackle him. He rolled with the mongoose, then hissed again when he felt him bite into his back. Snarling Sam attempted to wrap his coils around Max to squeeze the damn rodent.

Max expected the coils and was already attempting to wrap his own limbs around the coils to keep them at bay, while he shook his head viciously, hissing and growling while he tried to cause more damage.

It was a knock down drag out wrestling match of nature's bred enemies. Sam struggled to coil Max up, but the little furry muscular b*****d was resisting him. Sam kept struggling to pull the spear away from Max, but with his other hand he ripped a dagger from it's sheath on his body. He lashed out at the mongoose, seeking to loosen his grip.

The mongoose let go of the spear to avoid the dagger, his body suddenly twisting to roll, but trying to keep himself locked with the snake in the meantime. His claws sought to tear into the snake wherever he could grab while his teeth continued to try to rip in to him.

Claws tore into his scales and Sam was quick to twist away. He hissed and bared his fangs. Drawing back he released a stream of venom at Max in a sadistic snarl.

It was a well known fact that spitting cobras aimed straight for the eyes. Max had a feeling knew what he was about to do and so he turned away, twisting, and thankfully only a few drops landed on his fur, which didn't do much of anything. Apart from his foe now, though still on the ground, Max drew a kukri and slashed out for whatever he could hit.

Sam was frustrated when his foe managed to turn away from his attack. Hissing in anger he shifted his scales on the sand. He turned in time to see Max with his Kukri in his hand, but he could not move out of the way quickly enough. Snarling the naga lunged at Max with his spear before him.

Max knew he had the snake riled and pissed. And he hoped it would cause him to make mistakes. The cobra lunged at him and with his agility he was able to twist away, and still spinning to the side, attempted to stab his other kukri into the snake's side.

It was hard for Sam to stay focused on his opponent when he was just so angry. It made him blind. But in a way it allowed him to ignore the pain of his body. He moved swiftly enough to avoid the mongooses next strike partly. He continued to hiss while jabbing violently at Max with his spear.
