The night sky glittered with millions of stars. The moon was in it's new phase, so nothing but the street lamps and city lights were disrupting the beautiful display above. The night was air held humidity as the heat of the day continued to radiate up from the cement and macadam. Summer was still hanging on but autumn was hot on her heels.

Chailee snuck out of her house, as usual and powered up. She stood in her usual alley and stared at herself for a few minutes. Her new outfit was still so mesmerizing to her and she found herself gaping at it each time she powered up. Not to mention she felt more powerful as well. It was strange but in a good way.

Tonight though she had a goal. She had a need to speak to Tony and had purposefully waited until nightfall to seek him out. Camelot was hard to miss once powered up, plus she knew his usual are to patrol. So, not wasting anymore time she headed off in the direction of the library.

As she grew closer Camelot's aura, as expected, was like a homing beacon for her. She hopped from roof to roof, and utilized alley ways when needed until she found herself standing in front of the Library. At this point she figured Camelot could sense her as well so she wasted no time utilizing a fire escape and a few ledges on a nearby building to get herself to the libraries rooftop.

The heels of her boots clicked softly as she landed. With a smile she walked over to the Royal Knight. "I knew I'd find you here."

Camelot was not too quick to head out to his patrol tonight, standing atop the library and looking out over the city. He was used to standing there, letting others come to find him if they needed to.

He felt an aura approaching, so he waited for that person to climb up the library to meet him, turning toward where he felt they would appear. He smiled at Harmonia, nodding his head in greeting.

"Good evening! It's good to see you. Are you alright?" He noted that she had a serious air about her, though he thought that might also be his own paranoia and caution painting the feeling. After all, he was very protective of the senshi and knights he took under his wing, and could be a bit... overly so, sometimes.

If there was something wrong with her, then he wanted to know so he could fix it. If it was in his power to do so, of course.

Downstairs, Merlinite felt the aura of the Royal Knight above at the top of the library. Then there was another White Moon aura up there, and he decided to draw himself out of bed to go see what was going on.

Evening!" She offered as she walked over to the Knight, not missing his inquiring eyes that went along with his question. Right to the point. Apparently her attempt at being nonchalant had failed miserably. "I am fine." She said as she approached him. "I just, I had an experience recently that, well...scared me."

She paused for a moment before realizing that stating it the way she did might send the Knight into an even more protective and worried state. "Nothing directly happened to me or anything." She tried to amend. "I just saw something that I didn't know was possible."

Harmonia was fidgeting a bit as she tried to come up with the right words to explain why she had sought him out. "I just..." She plucked at her skirt for a moment before looking up at Camelot. "I heard a distress call when I was out on patrol in the park. There were quite a lot of Nega's there, Camelot and I don't really know who it was that it happened to but, I saw a Knight corrupt." She wasn't sure if Camelot had known about it or how he would react to the news if he hadn't heard or known.

"It was chaotic. There was so much going on, but I know he was trying to fight against it and...and the General queen just, she just stuck her hand in his chest and corrupted him." At this point Harmonia was a bit distraught as she remembered the night's events. She sucked in a breath as she glanced out over the city. "They can do that? They can just randomly corrupt any of us?" She asked quietly, fearing his answer.

Camelot frowned, listening to her news. He had not heard about any knights corrupting, but he could not know everything. He was aware that it happened all the time, without any good reason, and he did not blame her for how upset she was at having witnessed it.

"They can do that, yes," he put his hand gently on her shoulder, watching her carefully. "Chaos does not, unfortunately, need our permission to turn our starseeds to their side. Unlike purification, which is a choice, the Negaverse steals our numbers to their side through corruption. I'm... I'm sorry you had to see it. I'm sorry it happened at all. Are you alright?"

He knew he had already asked, but this time he meant something different.

Merlinite had made his way up to the top of the roof, and heard some of the conversation they were having. He remained perched on the corner of the roof, watching them without drawing nearer yet. It was not like they could miss his being there, as obvious and twisted as his aura was.

Folding her arm sin front of her and looking slightly dejected, Harmonia looked very much the 15 year old girl she was. Suddenly, what she had thought was black and white now had a very large area of grey. "I am not sure." She responded to his question, a hint of doubt and insecurity in her usually cheerful voice. Camelot's gesture was warming though. It helped ground her a bit.

She looked behind her when she felt a familiar corrupted aura grow nearer to them. "Hey." She smiled. "You don't need to hide over there." She was sure he had heard at least a portion of the conversation that she and Camelot were having.

Was Merlinite one of those unlucky ones? Did he once believe in Chaos of his own free will or was it not a decision given to him? Harmonia wasn't sure if she felt completely comfortable asking him or not. She didn't want to possibly bring about any bad memories or feelings.

"It's terrifying to think I could be out on patrol one night and be turned." A Shiver ran through her body at the thought. "What happens? I mean, wouldn't I remember being a senshi? Why do those who are forced to chaos fight for them?" Her question wasn't directed to either Camelot or Merlinite in specific as she stood there between the two. It was oddly symbolic to be questioning this with both the Light and Chaos there to answer her.

In a way Harmonia knew the answer to those questions but she wanted to hear it from someone who had more knowledge in the topic. She knew purification could alter memories but didn't know the exact details. Was there more to it? Did a corruption act the same way?

So many questions.

Camelot nodded his head as she spoke.

"That's why we have to be careful, and take care of one another. Patrolling alone is always dangerous, but for many reasons. Corruption not least of all. We can only suggest and guide those on Chaos to hopefully turn away from it, but they can force it on any of us if we're not careful." He sighed softly, remembering many of the friends he had lost and the faces he could not longer see, lost to Chaos.

Merlinite watched, flicking his tail behind him.

"We don't have much of a choice. Most of the time, being recruited is okay. They promise you power and all this awesome stuff, and you're like. Hell yeah, sign me up. But then you start to see what Chaos does to someone, and if you're lucky you see how it changes you. Maybe you can stop it, but most of the time people don't care. It's what they want. I didn't want it, but it didn't stop them. Painite corrupted me when I wanted to purify."

Camelot looked at the half youma, frowning sadly. He was still doing what he could to understand purification and the impact it could have on a youma, while not willing to practice it on Merlinite before knowing what could happen.

"I do know that some of those who are forcibly corrupted lose their memories, and their minds are altered in a way that leaves them vulnerable. The Negaverse takes advantage of that, building them a new history, I imagine, that is much more useful to them."

He remembered dreams, nightmares, of a reality that had not happened. At least not yet, or ever if he could help it. His son, Chaonis, corrupted, without any memories of who he was.

"I just...I can't imagine what the whole thing must be like. To be forced to forget a part of yourself or be a friend or family member of someone who just...vanishes can they no longer know you?" Harmonia hugged herself for a moment.

She looked from Camelot to Merlinite. "I am so sorry that Painite did this to you. I really wish there was something that we could do to help you." She cast a look at Camelot, but knew there was nothing the Royal Knight could do for the half-youma. There was so much that she wished could be changed or just be different as a whole when it came to this war they were all caught up in.

She was beginning to wonder why any of them really bothered. Why fight in a war that could literally tear them a part? Just because they had in the past?

That was a conversation she wasn't sure she was ready to embark on. Not yet anyway. Not with the way she was feeling.

Despite the heavy conversation and her somber mood, Harmonia smiled slightly. Here she was distraught and not only did she have someone to turn to, she friends whom she trusted to tell her exactly how it was. Her worries weren't going to magically disappear but Camelot and Merlinite were doing a good job in making her at least not feel terrible for being so fearful.

Camelot looked sad, glancing away for a moment. He let her talk to Merlinite instead, taking a breath as he chased off some heavier memories that still haunted him, despite the passage of time.

Merlinite shook his head, his tail swinging behind him thoughtfully. It had taken a little while, but he had learned how to deal with what he was, at least as best he could. Anyway, at least he still knew himself. He had not lost any of his memories.

In a way, he was luckier than he could have been.

"Merlinite is a good example of something good coming from the evils Chaos forces on us," Camelot chimed in, looking at the half youma, who looked immediately embarrassed. It was like getting compliments from dad in public. He was embarrassing him in front of all his friends!

"Though it can seem impossibly dark, there is always light to be found. Hard to reach, sometimes, but present. That's why I believe in purification so much. Even if there is only a small light, if we can find it, we can make it bigger. Stronger. That's what hope is, isn't it?"

Harmonia didn't miss Camelot's sad expression. Her brows furrowed slightly but she didn't ask him about it. Whatever it was it seemed to bother him quite a bit and she didn't want to aggravate those emotions anymore. It was odd though, to see him looking so down.

"I guess." She said with a bit of uncertainly. "But..." And this addressed ot Merlinite. "Don't you wonder how things could have been different if Chaos hadn't taken you?"

And then she realized how terrible those words could be if Merlinite really wasn't over what had been done to him. "I mean...I... I didn't mean it like that."

She sighed. "I get where you're coming from, I am just...I dunno." She ran a hand through her hair and paced away a few steps. Stopping with her hands on the top of her head she looked up at the sky. The stars above seemed to wink down at her as she stared up at them. So many stars. Were there as many planets to go along with them? Were there that many people stuck in this war?

Letting a breath of air out she dropped her arms and looked back at the two men. "I am sorry."

"Uh. I mean. I never wondered about it before, but nowadays I sort of do. Like... what kind of a knight would I have been. What would my Wonder be? I guess I would have liked to have a chance to go to it, you know. After seeing how amazing Camelot's wonder is... I dunno. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I didn't lose it, because I never had it. I can't feel bad about something I wasn't meant to have, you know?"

He was not sure if that made sense, but he did do his best to look at things in an optimistic way, these days. He had been to the bottom of fear, doubt and despair before, and it had not worked out that well for him. He did not want to put himself, or anyone he cared about, in that kind of a situation again.

He didn't seem to mind her question, though, swinging his tail behind him and scooting a bit closer to her. He put a clawed hand on her arm lightly, reassuringly.

Camelot watched the two of them, smiling softly, and did not say anything until she apologized.

"You don't have to be sorry. This is, unfortunately, one of the harder things we have to learn about, and face in this war. I wish it were easier, or it did not happen at all, but unfortunately this is the basis of Chaos. It is cruel and unfair, but we must keep on moving forward, learning, and fighting it as best we can. Chaos itself, I mean. And corruption."

Harmonia turned and smiled, if a bit sadly, at Merlinite when he touched her arm. She appreciated the gesture though. It was just hard to completely understand everything. So much about this war seemed pointless. So many people were being hurt in one way or another and...She wasn't sure it was at all worth it in the end.

She looked from Merlinite to Camelot. "I guess thinking about this...whole thing, never really came to mind until now. I've just been fighting because it was expected of me. I mean, I am a senshi. I -should- fight cause I was given the power to. Plus, I was able to protect my parents and friends but now...now I feel like that's not quite enough." She shrugged. "I think I just need to find my own path with this. Think things over."

She certainly wasn't going to stop powering up and head out each night. Sure, she could take time off to get herself straightened out but it felt wrong to do that considering there was nothing physically wrong with her to prevent her from going on patrol. She'd just have to do what she could and play things by ear for the time being.

Quite suddenly she turned and gave Merlinite a hug since he was the closest one to her, before turning and hastily walking to Camelot to give him one to. This, this was what she needed at the moment. Her parents couldn't be the ones to comfort her since they knew nothing about what she was doing. And after all, as tough as she tried to act, Harmonia really was nothing more than a 15 year old girl. "Thank you." She murmured to both of them as she embraced them.

Camelot watched her, nodding his head sagely. He understood the turmoil she was probably experiencing, trying to figure out why she was fighting and if those reasons were good enough to keep fighting. It was an inner fight that most senshi and knights had to go through, one way or another.

"I think that is the best thing you can do for yourself," Camelot said, his tone gentle and warm enough to match his calm green eyes. "We all must come to understand our place, not just for those that depend on us, but for our selves. We were not simply given our powers, but earned them: we were each born with a power inside us that awakened when we were needed the most. When we needed it the most. Understanding why that was, and what it means for our paths, is not always easy. But I know you will come to understand things, and of course, never forget that you have many people who are here to help."

Merlinite nodded along, though sometimes Camelot could get a bit wordy for his tastes. Still, he felt their points probably matched, so he let Camelot do the talking for most of it.

When he got a hug from Harmonia he tensed a bit, immediately worried he might hurt her with his claws or something, but relaxed and returned the gesture carefully. Camelot's hug was a lot easier, as the man very much liked hugs. He put his hand on her shoulder once the hug was done, nodding.

"You're welcome. Have faith in yourself and your own power, hm? Not just the magic you were given, but the strength of your heart. You'll figure things out."

Harmonia looked up at Camelot and nodded. This whole thing would have to be something she'd have to figure out on her own. She certainly wasn't going to feel comfortable for awhile but at least, with both Camelot and Merlinite's assistance she wasn't just a complete muddled ball of emotions. There was now a bit more sense to what she was feeling. Like she had began to unravel a ball of knotted yarn. It would take work, but she'd figure it out...eventually.

"Yea. One day." She smiled and looked from Camelot to Merlinite. "It's nice knowing I have people I trust to turn to though if it all starts to get too much." She grinned. "Or I just become a mess of emotions." She laughed a bit before glancing out over the city, not moving from Camelot's soothing proximity.

"One way or another I'll understand all of this. I'll figure it out. In time."
