Enoukn liked being outside. Though, he liked it more when it wasn't raining. Out in the courtyard, the Baphomet freshling sat... well huddled really, under one of the decorative trees. It kept the water off of him and he was trying to observe a tiny little plant at the base of the tree. He'd been checking up on it every day, and it seemed to be getting bigger and bigger! He was super excited, and wondered what it might be. It hadn't shown any signs of flowering yet, so he couldn't be sure if it was a flowering plant. It didn't seem to affect him negatively if he touched it - so it obviously wasn't harmful. So what exactly could it be then? It had been this introspection that had led to him getting trapped under the tree in the rain in the first place. So now he sat, pouting, cheeks puffed out as he tried to wait out the water as it fell from the sky. It hadn't looked like rain when he'd walked out so he hadn't even thought to bring an umbrella. Boy was he regretting that now!

Jezebeth was quite fond of the outdoors. The caretakers in House Enoch had long since given up on keeping her inside despite the weather. Of course, they wouldn't let her out in a storm, but a little rain wasn't such a problem. So long as she wore the little rain boots they provided for her and took an umbrella out as well. The last thing they wanted was for the adventurous little Fallen to come back sick and infect the whole Freshling dorm with whatever she managed to pick up.
After the small amount of preparing it took for her to wiggle the little booties onto her feet and unfold the umbrella she was out the door, waving at the dorm caretaker that would much rather stay inside. She wandered into the courtyard and was momentarily distracted by the way the rain was rolling off of flower in the yard. After that she found a little puddle to hop into, surely much to the dismay of whoever would have to clean her clothes later. She started to explore more opening than and eventually passed by a tree, only to be startled by the sight of another Freshling huddled on the other side.
She could assume by the way he appeared to be pouting that he hadn't purposefully wandered out in the rain. There was also his lack of umbrella. Sadly, he wouldn't be able to wear little booties even if they were given to him. Not the least bit shy, despite how others usually perceived her, she wandered over to him. She crouch down in front of him, jeez she could tell he was bigger than her by a bit. But she covered him and her with the umbrella, not at all minding the close space. Her wings poofed out behind her, while the umbrella was a decent size, it hadn't covered the delicate feathers completely and they were getting a little wet at this point.
"Did you get stuck out here?" She was curious mostly. Her voice was soft, but warm and inviting. Sadly she hadn't made many friends her own age yet, in fact she hadn't really talked to many nightmares her own age. She was quite looking forward to this new experience. If she had had a tail, it would probably be wagging. Instead she just displaced a cute, happy, smile.

Enoukn looked up, blinking a bit at the other freshling that stood over him with the umbrella. Huh? He wasn't the only one out here it seemed. At least she was nice, that was good. He nodded his head slowly, quite thankful for the umbrella's coverage. He snuggled his little plush goat - he was never without the neon green stuffed toy, and he gave her a small, sheepish smile back. "Y-yes..." He finally said. "I didn't... think it was going to rain." It was nice to meet a new Nightmare, the ones in his dorm area were okay but he didn't know them beyond that they slept near him. "Thank you," He said, pointing at the umbrella. If he minded her invading his personal space he didn't speak up about it. "Though, aren't your wings going to get wet now?" He frowned at that. He didn't want to cause her any trouble! But she seemed nice so far. "I'm Enoukn, what's your name? Do you want to see my plant?" He motioned to the little plant he'd been observing before the weather had decided to turn rainy. "I don't know what it is yet though..."

Jezebeth pulled her wings in, tucking them around her just enough that well, they weren't as out from under the umbrella, she didn't really mind that they were getting just a little bit wet. She stared at the little horns on his head for a second before looking back down in to his colorful green eyes.
"They'll be okay." She happily offered her own name in return. "I'm Jezebeth, and yes I want to see your plant!" Up until that point her voice had been quiet enough that the rain might obscure it. But at the mention of the little plant her voice had increased and she was honestly beaming at the idea.
She sat down on her knees than, holding the umbrella up high enough, though it might have been a little awkward for her given her size compared to his, and bent down to observe the little budding plant. Honestly, there wasn't much of a clue as to what it was. "They have these books that you can use to identify plants! It's a di..dico...some sort of key!" She struggled for the right word, she had only recently been introduced to it in class herself.

She wanted to see his plant! He liked this one. She was nice! He scooted over a bit for her, so she would have more space to see it. when he noticed she was struggling to keep the umbrella over both of them, he gently reached out and grabbed it. "May I?" He asked, looking at Jezebeth as he looked up. It would be easier for him to hold the umbrella so that way she could focus on the plant. He was the taller of the two after all it only made sense! "There is a book that talks about plants?!" Green eyes started at Jezebeth in awe. "Can you help me find one? I really want to know what kind of plant this is!" Enoukn liked plants... well, the outdoors and nature in general. He didn't like being inside for more than he needed to be. Granted on rainy days like this inside was nice, but most days it was better to be outdoors.

It certainly was a very small plant still, she wasn't even sure they'd be able to figure out what it was at this point. But, maybe they could get lucky! It certainly didn't hurt to try and she was always up for a new challenge. She just had to find one of those books her teacher had told her about in class. Maybe the library in the school had one?
She blinked, looking up at Enoukn when he offered to hold her umbrella. Well, since it did make sense that he should hold it, being the taller of the two, she let him. With a small nod she let go of the umbrella, letting the Baphomet take over.
When he asked about the book she stared up at him, a little wide-eyed herself. She laughed a little bit, but not in a mean way. In a genuinely happy sort of laugh. "They have books about everything!" She had been to the library before and it was huuuuuge. Lyra, the head librarian, was very friendly and extremely helpful. No doubt she could point them in the right direction for this new quest of theirs. It was their quest right? This was the first time she was considering including someone else when it came to plants. "I think I could help you. I'm sure the library would have something!"
The thought of finding a book that could help them identify the plants and flowers outside was very exciting. They'd start with this little plant and than they could look around for more. There was no guarantee they'd be right, not without the help of someone wiser in the subject, but it would be fun! "Did you want to go to the library with me?" She looked up at him hopefully, her own dark green staring into his much brighter shade.

Enoukn took hold of the umbrella in his free hand, the plush goat clenched tight to his chest with the other. He tried to keep it about even between them as he could, but he might have tried to cover her wings more. He was okay with getting wet, but he wasn't sure if she liked her wing being wet or not, and she was nice. At learning this fact about the books - and the entire library contained within the school, Enoukn was ecstatic! He watched her, listening intently, his bright green eye never leaving her own as she spoke. Then she invited him to go with her. And he stood up quickly, nodding enthusiastically. "Yes, I would very much like to go with you!" He turned and smiled at his plant. "Be safe plant we'll be back!"Realizing it might be seem a bit strange to his new friend that he was talking to a plant he turned to her with a smile. "Plants like to be talked to!" This as a fact. He'd heard one of the caretakers say it so it had to be true! He kept the umbrella over them and nodded his head, waiting for Jezebeth to lead on.

Jezebeth hadn't expect him to be so enthusiastic about the library. She didn't know too many nightmares her own age who would literally jump at the invitation to go look up books in the library. It often didn't come off as something fun to do. Let alone finding a book, so that they could come back outside, and identify plants. With a little bit of a laugh she stood up with him and barely blinked an eye when he talked to the plant, hey it seemed normal enough to her.
"Really?" She found the little bit of information a little startling, but she supposed it made sense. Plants were living creatures as well (Dax had taught her that!), it stood to reason that they could react to all sorts of different things. "We'll be back soon~" She cooed down to the little plant and than with a little nod she made her way back toward the dorm.
She let Enoukn continue to hold the umbrella, since once again he was the taller of the two. But as the approached the door and the little awning that covered it she held her hand out for it. She shook as much of the water off as she could and then rolled it back up, she left it outside to try however than opened the door. She took off her boots not far form the entrance and left them there to dry as well.
"It's this way!" She hurried along, but slowed down at the sight of any autority figures, she shouldn't be running inside. She didn't pause to go back to her room for shoes either, she was sure no one would mind and well, Enoukn didn't have any on either. Not that he could, but still! It took some time to guide them in the right direction, Asphodel Gardens was a big academy, but eventually Jezebeth pushed open the double doors to reveal an absolutely enormous library. The walls were covered with books and there were more rows than anyone, aside from maybe the head librarian, cared to counter. there were also study rooms along the sides, the lights were on if they were occupied.
"I'm sure we can find what we're looking for in here. Somewhere." While she had visited the library before, she hadn't done much exploring on her own. She always sought help form the librarian at the desk for what she was looking for.

Enoukn was really glad that Jezebeth was nice to his plant. She seemed like a really good nightmare to be around, so he decided that she was going to be his friend. He didn't have a lot of friends yet - but that didn't bother him. Jezebeth was going to be a good friend though! He handed her back the umbrella once she held her hand out for it, nodding his head as she lead him into the building. He didn't mind her lack of shoes. Mainly because footwear was a foreign concept to the hooved nightmare freshling. Really, the thought of having feet that could be hurt by things made him a bit confused. Still, he moved after her quickly, his longer stride able to keep up with hers pretty easily. When she opened the doors to the library however he blinked for a moment. Soooo many books! Oh, he was going to like this place, yes! He smiled at her and nodded. "Okay," he was sure she knew where they could start looking. Barring that - he was sure they could find some help from someone...

Oh good! He seemed to be enjoying himself already. Honestly Jezebeth was worried she'd drag him all the way out here and at the sight of the rather intimidating number of book, he'd change him mind and go find somewhere else to be. She looked relieved that he didn't immediately turn around and leave. She was seriously hoping that she had made a friend in him, only time would tell though.
With a little skip in her step she headed over to the desk. As small as she was, the library was pretty freshling friendly, and thus she didn't have too look up too far to she the librarian seated behind it. She gave her a polite wave, having met her a few times already. "What can I help you with today?" "We're looking for something that can help us identify a plant outside!" She rose form behind the desk and motioned for the two of them to follow along. Jezebeth turned to Enoukn, giving him a little thumps up, and than followed after the librarian.
They were brought to a section that she was a little bit familiar with at this point and the librarian was even kind enough to pull down a few that looked like they could be useful to them, though they were also encouraged to look around on their own. "Thank you~" She smiled, her arms full of books, as the librarian left them be to explore. She offered one of the books to Enoukn with a smile.

Enoukn was more than happy to follow Jezebeth through the library. He smiled and thanked the librarian as well when she got them the books. He made a note to come and visit the place more often. This was definitely a spot to go on rainy days that was for sure! Looking around, he took the book that he got from Jezebeth and made his way to one of the more freshling sized tables, sitting down he opened the book, doing his best to not crack the spine of it and flipped through the pages of the guide. His brows furrowed as he read, bright green eyes wandering over the page as he tried to figure out what possibly might be the plant he'd seen. He hoped Jezebeth would come join him with more books though!

While she had very much appreciated the books the librarian had given them she peeked around at some of the others. The librarian had steered them in the direction of books more age appropriate for themselves, but she felt like maybe what they were looking for might not be in there. Just in case she fulled a few more down. At one point she had to hop, flutter her wings just a bit, to reach a book a little out of her reach.
By the time she made it around to the table where Enoukn sat, she had seven books in her arms. She didn't really know where to begin, but there were ones about trees, flowers, grasses, moss, and even fungi. Anything was a possibility, and so she had grabbed at various ones hoping that somewhere in there lied the answer to what they were looking for.
She didn't even hesitate for a moment as she took the seat next to Enoukn. Her feet swung freely below her, not quite able to reach the ground at her size. She looked at the collection in front of them and than pulled the ones with different trees in it over to her. She read the first few pages carefully, as it defined several of the terms that would be used throughout the rest of the book, and then flipped through the pages after that. She figured there was a good chance it was a tree, likely the child of the tree it was rooted under. Maybe.

Enoukn's book was just a basic local plant guide. He was flipping through it slowly, trying to locate any of the plants as something similar to it. The leaves were very similar to the tree which it rested under, so Jezebeth's theory was probably very close to be accurate. Turning to her he smiled, and pointed it out in the guidebook. "It might be this?" he said quietly, tilting his head to see if she would concur or not. If she did not, he would keep looking. It looked pretty darn close to what it could be. But still, that didn't mean he was right. There were a lot of plants in the world.

Jezebeth had been studying quietly, but was quick enough yo respond to Enoukn when he spoke up. She let her book rest at the page it was open at and glanced over at the guidebook he had in front of him. "It could be! The shape of the leaves look about right." Which would mean their plant was a tree!
But, if it was a tree it likely wouldn't be able to flourish well where it was currently. She looked at the name of the tree and found it in the book she was currently reading, it went into a little more detail than the one he had. "If it is though, Trees need plenty of their own sunshine to grow. And Water. It might not remain healthy in the shade of a much larger tree..." She frowned a little bit, pondering what they could do for the still quite small plant. Was there some way to relocate it? She wasn't sure and certainly didn't want to disk potentially damages the delicate little tree.
It was likely something they could ask a teacher about, though she doubted the librarian would be much use in this sort of situation. There was still not guarantee they were right anyway. "We should probably check your book out and compare them in person though!"
