Dayn [+] Loyal [+]
Whilst in general Dayn is kind and polite to everyone, he rarely gets deeply attached to others. But when he does, you've made yourself a steadfast ally and friend. Dayn will drop anything and everything to help a friend in need - even if it disadvantages him. Perhaps the reason he cares this deeply for so few people is because it would be impossible to sustain the level of devotion he carries for more than a few people - or perhaps he's just picky. Whichever the case, Dayn can be the epitome of loyalty, even doing things he might consider distasteful normally if it's to help someone he considers a friend - this of course, does not always end well!
[+] Selfless [+]
Dayn cares deeply for others - perhaps not as individuals unless he gets to know them, but in a general sense, he likes other people and feels everyone should be given things they want (in moderation) and definitely the things they need. And what does he need? He already has warm clothes, a bed and food, and Kyle. Nothing else really matters. Dayn has little attachment to money, status or belongings (with the exception of gifts from people he cares about.), and will freely give away these things to others who desire them more. Even things he gets attached to (such as gifts) he can be persuaded to part with should others really require them. This selflessness doesn't jut extend to posessions, though. He will take on extra work so you can have a break. He'll go without dessert so someone else can have the last piece. He'll even take a punch meant for you, unless you really deserved it - and sometimes even then! Of course, this isn't always the best thing.
[+] Controlled [+]
Dayn, being in the house of logic and fact, considers this the way to go about life. What do emotions do but confuse and detract from the situation? Of course positive emotions are to be enjoyed and celebrated, but to overindulge is never a good thing. Dayn tries to keep an iron control over his emotions and actions at all times, and only act in an appropriate way. This means in stressful or difficult situations he's often the voice of reason and control, but it can also mean he comes off as uncaring or standoffish. He's excellent at keeping his cool. This doesn't just apply to his emotions, either. Dayn wants control in ALL aspects of his life, including his physical form - as he grows it becomes more important to him, and he tries to keep neat, clean and in top physical shape.
[-] Overprotective [-]
Maybe due to growing up with a sickly twin who tended to get in trouble a lot, or maybe just because he cares for few people, Dayn has an overprotective streak a mile wide. If you're one of his chosen few, expect to be cared for, protected and well, maybe a little babied. Dayn will do his best to do things for you that he considers 'dangerous'. Which can be anything from taking on a fight, or something dumb like tasting a new food. Dayn can get very irritating, especially with his tendency to hover around if you're sick or injured until you get better - there are only so many times you can be asked 'are you okay' before you end up throwing something! In the same vein, Dayn often takes over tasks that you'd have rather done yourself.
[-] Rigid [-]
Dayn controls himself impeccably. This means that (in his view) he is almost always right, and if you have an opposing view on something, especially if that view is flavored by emotions rather than logic, you are simply being childish and need showing the right way to do things. If you can out-logic him in an argument, he'll cede to you, but generally he's very rigid in his way of thinking, and struggles to see other people's point of view, or think outside the box.
[-] Brutal [-]
It's quite hard to get Dayn to dislike you - in general even if you annoy him, he's ambivalent at best. But get on the wrong side of him, and Dayn is well, Brutal. It takes a lot to get him to have a grudge against you, but once it's there, it's very very difficult to get him to forgive you - and whilst you're on the wrong side of him, he will do everything in his power to make you fail at the things you care about. This is not to mention the fact that he has a horrendous temper. Whether this is caused by the fact he almost represses his emotions or not, Dayn blowing his top is a sight to see. Whilst hiding. In a bunker. Dayn also likes to solve his problems physically if he can't talk it out. Basically he ends up hitting people when he's angry, which isn't a great trait...at all.
[?] Fighting [?]
He'd like to call it physical activity, or verbal sparring, but the truth is Dayn loves to fight. Whether it's logic-based arguments or fencing or just punching each other stupid when no staff are around, Dayn thrills when there's fighting to be done. It horrifies him as much as it fascinates him - he wants to use his strength to protect others, but at the same time....fighting is just so much /fun/!
[?] Studying [?]
Whilst he doesn't have the knack for absorbing and retaining information his twin does, Dayn finds learning new things soothing. The repetition he needs to absorb things and the structure within education all makes him happy. Plus, the more he knows, the more he can debate about!

Prompt Three Your Nightmare has to write an essay on what they want to be when they grow up. Do they procrastinate, or get to work immediately? What is their essay about? Tap....tap.....tap... The pencil in the junior's hand moved restlessly against the table, BLAHBLAH FILL IN LATER I AM TIRED Prompt One! Oh no! Your Nightmare has lost something that is very dear them! What have they lost, and how do they react? //written as a freshling!//When he first realised his loss, Dayn had panicked. Only for a split-second, mind you, before logic kicked in and reminded him panicking would solve nothing, but it had still been there. The terror, the all-consuming fear that something terrible had happened, that Kyle had fallen down again, or got stuck, or got ill or kidnapped or - Dayn shook himself to clear the thoughts, tail fluffed with alarm and ears folded back. But he took deep breaths, centered himself and reminded himself to use logic, not emotion. When the two younglings had decided to nap, they'd chosen a spot in the sun out in a stone courtyard, where the stones were warm (for Kyle) and clean (for Dayn). But the sun had gone in now, and the stones were cooling. That was probably why Kyle had left - he wasn't a fan of the cold. Or, Dayn thought with a slight smile, of the heat either. Heaving himself to his small paws, he took a deep breath, scenting the air. He could still smell Kyle on the air, so he couldn't have left recently - or, thought Dayn with another smile, got far. Kyle might be tough, but he wasn't the fastest of youths, which meant Dayn would soon catch up. (Right? said the small voice of panic, shoved down.) With a quick check nobody was around, Dayn shoved up the sleeves of his jumper and crouching on all fours sniffed heartily, trying to follow Kyle's scent. It wasn't very refined, and it was certainly not something Dayn would be caught /dead/ doing normally, but this was an emergency. Think of all the trouble Kyle could get into unsupervised! He shuddered at the thought. As he went inside, a new, stronger scent hit the hybrid's sensitive nose, and he breathed a sigh of relief as he started down the corridor, following the smell of sugar cookies - no wonder his twin had ran off, those were their favourite. (That was where he'd gone, right?) It wasn't a run, because running in corridors only ended in time-out, but it was a brisk pace the little one kept up as he followed the smell. Soon it was strong enough to be sniffed out by even the least sensitive of noses, and as he rounded the corner he hiccuped. There, completely oblivious to his twin's distress, sitting and eating a cookie with a smile on his face, was Kyle. As Dayn began to sniffle a little, his twin's ears pricked and Kyle waved excitedly. "DAYN! I saved you a cookie and a seat next to me!" Of course, Dayn promptly burst into tears from relief, running over and hugging his twin tightly. Kyle squawked and laughed, hugging back and running their hands through Dayn's hair. Dayn clung tightly. Never again he thought. He was never going to let Kyle out of his sight again!
