The local dragonseer (that's a fancy word for someone who rides on a balloon and stares at the fog from above) wants your help in locating potential signs of danger and sand whales. You are to ride the balloon up and take a look.
You must first assemble the balloon. Pick any two items from the list below to make the basket of your balloon out of. Rp accordingly:
- Snake leather - Thick rope - Flaming carpet - A basket of foxfires - A white cloth - Carved sand whale bone - A net - A table - A door - Five golden rings - A pine tree - A trash can - A really really really really big bottle
- Next, to ascend, roll 1d100. This is the number of feet that your balloon launches to the sky. If you roll a 1.. you kind of suck. Maybe you're really bad with balloons. Maybe youre too heavy. Maybe your buddy should get off. Who knows.
If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you.
If your character rolls above 80 feet, you end up going too high into the highest miasma clouds. The thin air makes exposure to miasma easily and you gain +5 miasma.
As long as you roll over 50 feet you succeed in this venture.

Even if a dragonseer was just a fancy name for a person riding on a balloon and sight-seeing, Maddie thought it was a pretty neat name. Heck, putting aside it's actual definition, it sounded like someone who was the ruler of dragons! Or, dragon commander? Something like a super smart person who was in charge of dragons. Hmm, no, those didn't sound cool enough. It was like, a dragon wizard! A wizard who could summon dragons!
Well, Maddie was definitely no weird old boil with magic dragon powers, but to think such an individual asked for her help, well... That just meant she was SUPER important. Like, super DUPER important. Beary important, and she liked that. Also she got to ride in a balloon, which was a bonus. It sucked that she had to make the basket herself, but customizing it to her own liking wasn't such a bad thing. No ordinary basket would do for the mighty Maddie!
She was presented with a lot of neat stuff, and if possible, she would have used everything. Alas, she didn't have time nor did she want to waste making a basket, even if it would be carrying her. She wanted to go sight-seeing! She wanted to see stuff explode and make fun of sand whales!
Still, making a custom-made basket was a lot of pressure, and it had to be the best of the best! Nothing less! Filtering through the items, she took a basket of foxfires and five golden rings. Now she had a cushy seat AND it looked awesome. Plopping down on the bundle of yippy minis, Maddie made herself comfortable while she fiddled with the rings. Were these actual gold rings? Maddie wondered if she could keep them later. Nothing made for a nice souvenir like some gold right, right? And she wondered if it would be nice to leave with a foxfire pelt too. No one would miss these, right?
Well, enough of that! She could play around with gold rings later. Time to sight-see!!

With everything set, Maddie was excited to start her adventure. What would she see? How MUCH would she see? It was a silly question. Maddie was going to see ALL the things! She was going to make fun of the villagers from high up, laughing at how they appeared so tiny and ant-like they were. She would see the sand whales thrashing about, causing mayhem and destruction. From way up here, it was probably fine if she threw something at them. They couldn't reach her after all. This would be payback for the time they were giving her so much trouble! Maybe she could throw a foxfire at it, though that'd probably be more of a present, which she didn't want to do. It wasn't like she felt BAD for the foxfire or anything. Minis were minis, and some minis were just meant to be eaten.
Oh well. She didn't feel like depleting her cushy seat. Considering she didn't have to fight them anymore, she didn't care too much about what they did. They could wreak havoc for all she cared! Come to think of it, what exactly was it that she was looking for? Well, it didn't matter much. She was just doing this to have a good time!
Up and up the balloon went, and the higher they went, the more giddy Maddie got. Adventure, adventure!! She peered over the edge of the basket, grinning at what she saw. Look at all the tiny creeple! And... the town? Hmm, it was shaped like an S? Interesting! This was fun~ ... now how did she get back down?
