A villager has left a tip about some form of virus happening to the local minipet wildlife. It is up to you to check it out!
Your character must catch one of the local minipets wandering around. Roll 1d10 and see what phrase you get from the list. Then use the minisglossary to pick a pet with that phrase in it (do not pick SE pets or RE ones!)
1. Tropical 2. Sweet 3. Black 4. White 5. Spooky 6. Cheese 7. Onion 8. War 9. Wish 10. Eyeball
Once they have caught one, they need to carefully examine it to make sure it has no signs of the virus (the symptoms are possibly purple, evil looking, very vicious) then they can let it go. If however, it is purple or shows possible signs of the virus, they should hand it in to the villager. Roll 1d4 to see what the villager gives you for your time.
1. You get nothing. They take the pet and go away. 2. You get a halfhearted thumbs up. 3. The pet bites you as you near away from it! Ouch! Add +2 to your miasma meter. 4. The villager looks at you. He says "they key to the door is 8888." He leaves.

Maddie had quite enough of egg hunting and climbing mountains. For now, she just wanted a break. But of course, breaks never came that easily. Perhaps it was more along the lines of Maddie was always curious about things, and having been tipped off about some disease running rampant among minis, how could she refuse? She totally wanted an opportunity to mock sick minis, because she was just that terrible. Also, was some virus-infected mini really that dangerous? Was it contagious? There was no way Maddie would get sick. She was a stuffed animal after all, TECHNICALLY not a living thing besides being infused with fear, so even if she were to catch it, she wouldn't die. Probably.
Scary virus or not, Maddie wanted to see what the whole big deal was. And so, off she went, looking around for what might have constituted for a crazed mini with some virus. Some tart eaters, some dust bunnies... A cry above made Maddie look up, squinting at what seemed to be phoenix hatchlings in the air. No sign of crazed minis yet! What would even constitute as a crazed mini? Eyes popping out? Spasms? A crazed mini didn't necessary meant it had the virus.
Come to think of it, what WERE the symptoms for the virus? Maddie had imagined it would be extremely aggressive maybe, or... foaming at the mouth? Did that apply to all kinds of minis? Maybe they'd have red eyes, or would glow or... Hmm. Come to think of it, she wasn't quite sure!
It certainly didn't help that Maddie had no idea what she was looking for, but here she was, wandering around and- oh! What looked like floating skeletons was actually a soul eater, seeming to glare at her with unwarranted malice, and it was tinted... a shade of purple? Perhaps this was what she was looking for!

The soul eater snarled and snapped at her, feathers bristling. Now that she found it, what was she supposed to do? It wasn't like she had medicine or anything... or really cared. Maddie was just bored and wanted to see something exciting, and something exciting she saw. Perhaps TOO exciting as the soul eater war tried to snap off her arm.
"No! Bad thing, bad!" Maddie smacked it, which only ended up aggravating it more. Ughhhhhh, what was she supposed to do? This was all that villager's fault! Not knowing what else to do, Maddie tried to tackle and wrestle it into submission. It was quite a sight, with her grabbing onto the mini as it pulled her around, tassels slapping at her as Maddie winced. Slapping her sweater was fine, but when said tassels was smacking at her face and eyes, it made seeing all the more harder. Quit it, mini!
It was probably not a wise choice to aggravate the mini further, but, well, Maddie never really planned things through. Action before thought! Even if she were bigger than the eater by a bit, it gave her a bit of an advantage, as she used her slightly heavier body weight to pull it down, taking the opportunity to tackle it into submission. It was a magnificent scuffle, but in the end, Maddie was victorious! Only because she was slightly bigger.
Dragging the mini back the village, Maddie was ready to receive her reward. There WOULD be a reward for capturing it, right? However, the only reward she would receive was having the mini bite her before fleeing. Ow! Darn thing. Well, she supposed she did get something in the end... Hopefully the virus wasn't contagious.
