Torolf puffed out his chest he was proud to be entering the duels. His mother wasn't a fighter but his dad had been, not that Torolf was all that fond of his dad. His mother's best friend though she had been an amazing roll model. She had helped Torolf train as a young boy he knew all the best moves thanks to Anika. He adored her, she was his second mother. He was mildly worried about who he would be facing he had never duelled with anyone other than his siblings or Anika's girls. That being said some of them were quite good fighters.

Auðlín hadn’t really known why she had entered these games… Boredom maybe? She wasn’t exactly regretting it now, but she was a little dubious. She had rarely participated in the heavy bouts that her brother preferred, even as a youngster she had always known she had no drive to become a fighter. Sure, she could defend herself perfectly admirably. But when it came to fighting for fighting’s sake? That didn’t really interest her.
Sighing she shook her head at herself. Well, this would be a good lesson. Next time she would keep her nose out of things like this and focus on the more important things, like tracking her brother’s arch rival, and trying to work out just why she liked the big brute that was her brother’s closest friend.
Arriving at the ring she peered over at the strapping young male she would be facing. Well damn… He looked good and strong, if a little inexperienced. Well, he had to be a freeborn, to be in the same fights as her, so maybe this wouldn’t been totally humiliating after all…? Suppressing the desire to slap herself in the face for her own stupidity, Auðlín strode forwards, eyes fixed on her soon-to-be opponent. Grinning with affected confidence she tipped her head at him, not allowing her nerves to show as she strode past, head held high.
“Shall we get on with this then?” Taking her position she waited until he indicated he was ready, then with no further warning she sprang forwards silently, aiming at his side with her claws out.

When Torolf saw the female he was going to compete with he wasn't sure how he felt. Sure he had fought with females before, but that was different. He gave his head a little shake, he couldn't think of her as a girl, she was an opponent that was it. When she tipped her head indicating she was ready to go he muttered. "Its a good day to die." Before he ready his stance.
He saw the female dart towards him. He moved just as quickly to avoid her claws that were mere inches from sinking into his side. Managing to avoid her attack he felt a bit of pride. He tried to land a hit on her shoulder with his claws as she moved past him but missed as well. No Point he thought.
He turned himself eyeing up his opponent trying to get use to how she moved. He moved towards hoping to catch her before she was able to ready herself for the next attack. As he ran towards he readied himself and just before he reached her he dove, going in to bite her ankle before rolling off to the side away from her hoping to avoid any attack she my send his way in response.

She barely managed to dodge his retaliation, claws fleshing out towards her and only a violent twist to the side avoided them sinking into her shoulder. Landing she realised that her drastic dodge had been a mistake as a sharp pain lanced through her back. That would hurt tomorrow... Nevertheless she put it out of her mind, twisting round to face him before hie could attack. But her new weakness meant she was slower than normal and he was already racing at her as she got her paws under her.
Crouching as she expected him to aim high or hit her with force, she was not prepaired for his sudden slide and low attack. With a sharp hiss of surprise she tried to jump out of the way but was just fractionally too slow and felt sharp fangs sink into her paw. With a loud yeowl she slashed at his face with her free paw, barely remembering to keep her claws in. She had to get him off before he did any real damage or this fight was over for her!

Torolf actually felt a twinge of guilt rush through him. It didn't take any more action from him other than her yeow to make him immediately go slack jawed, but not before her paw made contact. He moved away a little embarrassed at his actions though he also felt a surge of pride when he realized he had scored the first point of the match.
He scampered back and tried to recollect himself. He wanted to quit the match but he was still early in the match and now he kind of wanted to know if perhaps he could actually come out as the winner.
He eyed the female, he was sure that his bite would slow her down. He circled around her this time moving in quickly trying to get her from the side, his claws were out stretched and he tried to bring them down in a slashing motion along her back hip, if it made contact it would draw blood, but he tired to be careful he only wanted to draw enough blood to earn the point not enough to leave a permanent mark.

Her paw hurt! It was bleeding too, as she left strangely shaped prints as she moved, trying to keep him in front of her as he circled. The sudden attack was simply too fast for her to prevent, her paw slipped in her own blood and her back sent a sharp stab of pain through her as she tried to twist to block him. With another cry she felt his claws slice through her fur and draw blood.
She knew her match was lost now, but that didn't mean she had to hand the fight to him without making him work for it. With effort she grit her fangs and launched herself at him in a graceless lunge.

Torolf steadied himself for the attack. He was feeling guilty now he had inflicted more damage then he ever wanted to. He wondered what it was about fighting that others were drawn too. He knew that there was a good chance of him winning now he could see the green female moving slower now. He looked around wondering if his mom was here to see him, or Anika. He wasn't sure that he wan't Kelda to see this though. He had joined to support her but he didn't want her to see him harming another.
The female made contact with him. He felt a twinge as she left her mark on his skin. He could see now that the female was in a lot of pain. and he moved to end the drawn out battle. Not wanting to leave any more marks on the females skin he swiped his paw towards her face. It would be a clean blow if he made contact. His last point that would bring him to three and end the match.

Satisfaction filled her as she collided heavily with the younger male. She was no reaver, but she was no shrinking violet either, and despite the pain of her back and paw she was not going to back down.
Suddenly she saw, too late, his paw flying at her face. It struck before she could pull back far enuogh to avoid the hit. While the blow wasn't powerful and there were no claws involed, it still made her head ring slightly. And... that had been his third point.
Shifting backwards to put distance between them, she shook her head to clear away the fuzziness his blow had left her with. "Good fight.." She rumbled at him. Perfectly willing to call the bout done and him the winner. She hadn't made too bad a showing of herself and now she could gracefully retire and go eat.. And get her paw looked at by one of the thrall-healers.

The male moved back and took a seated position. He bowed his head. "Thank you for the fight." he told her. It seemed like an odd thing for him to say, but it was the mentality of the pride and he had started to see the appeal. He didn't like to hurt someone else but he did like winning.
"My name is Torolf by the way." he said realizing that he had never gotten her name before the battle had begun. "My mom is a nurse I can take you to her if you want?" he offered he was genuinely trying to be helpful he hoped she wouldn't take it as an insult.

"Audlin" She replied, offering her own name in return as she moved forwards again. Now the fight was officially done she didn't have to keep her guard up or distance between them. She tried to hide her limp as she walked over, but she was already stiffening, her back would be sore for days and she was leaving splotches of blood on the sand behind.
"That would be very kind of you." She accepted his offer, it would save her the time and hassle of going out and looking for a healer. "Congratulations, I will have to watch your next bout." She smiled, not at all sore over losing. After all she was no reaver.
