hide spoiler The local dragonseer (that's a fancy word for someone who rides on a balloon and stares at the fog from above) wants your help in locating potential signs of danger and sand whales. You are to ride the balloon up and take a look.
You must first assemble the balloon. Pick any two items from the list below to make the basket of your balloon out of. Rp accordingly:
- Snake leather - Thick rope - Flaming carpet - A basket of foxfires - A white cloth - Carved sand whale bone - A net - A table - A door - Five golden rings - A pine tree - A trash can - A really really really really big bottle
- Next, to ascend, roll 1d100. This is the number of feet that your balloon launches to the sky. If you roll a 1.. you kind of suck. Maybe you're really bad with balloons. Maybe youre too heavy. Maybe your buddy should get off. Who knows.
If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you.
If your character rolls above 80 feet, you end up going too high into the highest miasma clouds. The thin air makes exposure to miasma easily and you gain +5 miasma.
As long as you roll over 50 feet you succeed in this venture.

Micail sighed as he rummaged through stacks and bags of stuff. He was currently looking for something he could use to make a balloon out of. Wile wondering around Miasma Village he came across a villager who apparently called a dragonseer. What was that? Well as he described it, a dragonseer was some kind of look out? Someone who went up in a balloon and looked for signs of danger and sand whales. Micail who happened to pass by somehow managed to get dragged into helping. Apparently that was becoming a regular thing here. His job? To build some kind of balloon, float up there, and see what was going on.
First he had to find something to build it with. So far he wasn't able to find anything to build a balloon. Maybe he should try somewhere else. He moved to another storage like area that help more boxes and bags of stuff. Maybe he would find something here he could use. Shuffling through he found some snake leather. Yes. He could use this to make balloon. Now if he could just find something to tie it together... glancing around he spotted a net. Well that would work. He managed to drag the net and leather into to an open space where he could work. Once he had everything together he began his work.
Working fast and carefully, he managed to construct the balloon out of the snake leather. Once the balloon was made, he took the net and wrapped it around the balloon for more reinforcement and what hung left over on the bottom made the perfect little hammock for him to sit in or lay in. What ever worked. Perfect. Now that it was all constructed all he had to do was get it into an area where he could fill it and start heading up.

Micail, after struggling with his makeshift balloon he managed to drag it out into an open area. Finally. He stood there for a few moments looking down at his creation. Well... He got it here now he had to figure out how he was going to get it up. He looked around. Well he supposed he could go back to the villager. If any knew about how to fill up the balloon it would be the guy who gave him the quest. He just had to hope that what ever was used to fill the balloon could be transported.
Making his way back to the villager who gave him the quest, Micail let him know that he was finished making the balloon. The villager seemed impressed and eager to get him into the air. Just as Micail thought, the villager had come kind of special gas used to get him into the air. Luckily Micail was able to transport it to his balloon. Once he got it back he managed to get the gas into the balloon to a point where he could sit in the seat net he sighed. It actually felt kinda comfortable.
Eventually Micail managed to fill the balloon up enough to get him up. Smiling he leaned back in the net hammock as the balloon ascended. He had it made. All he had to do was kick back and let the balloon carry him. This was the life. Just relaxing and letting it do all the work. Suddenly it stopped. Micail opened his eyes and realized that the balloon only went about twenty feet. Not enough to get up and look down on the area.
"Well jack." He leaned back. So much for that. All that work and nothing to show for it. Well at least he could take a little bit of a nap.
