Stryke stood up with a bit of effort after he'd finished speaking with the orangeblood he had fought beside tooth and nail. Keionx's words had comforted him that was without question. Even if he was willing to run out and risk his life and act as bait, there was one face in this room that he wished very much to speak with. Namely before the opportunity was lost to him.

Vremea had been working tirelessly, helping to heal whom she could even if she was pale from pain he could see. He'd observed in silence as she healed the small redblood whom had been injured with quiet fascination. Curious, she'd used an artifact of some kind and not her powers from the looks of it. Stryke carefully had tucked his shirt and re-buttoned his vest to hide the worst of his injuries knowing she'd worry anyway. She always did.

Looking apologetic as he approached, Stryke smiled at the other yellowblood. "it'sss good to see you alive and mostly well. i must ask however, do you have a moment?" Stryke asked softly as he rubbed the back of his neck, looking down not able to look her in the eyes. He had to let her know he was going as a runner. He'd heard Byakko ask her to stay behind to help with the escape plans.

After a few minutes of healing a few other trolls, Vremea lifted her head to see a familiar face walking toward her, making a relieved, bright smile spread across her face. Pulling away from the troll she finished healing, the yellowblood rushed over, immediately locking the younger kid in her arms. "Stryke!" She exclaimed in relief— She'd seen Keionx fighting alongside him in the past, but she had yet to talk to him. "I am so glad you are alright! Oh goodness, Stryke..." She quickly pulled away and immediately looked him over. "Have you and Kei sustained any serious wounds?" Vremea quickly brushed his hair away, rubbing some spare blood off his face and deflating a little.

      He was taller now.

In the past he could barely reach her waist, but now he reached her shoulders, and that alone made her want to tear up. How the time passed... Hearing his words, Vremea pulled back a little, fretting muted for now. "Yes, I do. Oh, Stryke, I am so sorry..." Her tone said it all, hands trembling before tightening around his shoulders and faltering. Kursha had been his friend before hers, so long ago, in war. She didn't know how close they were now, but she did know they had worked together. They... Had a team. That was enough to form a bond, however small it'd be. "Are you alright?"

Stryke wished he could explain to her what that bright smile meant to him, but in that moment what mattered was the arms that had pulled him close. Tightly, he held her in his embrace just glad to know she was there. "i wrapped what i could, but yesss i suppose you could say that. it can wait just a moment.." Neither was bleeding out at least, even if it was bad. The burns on his body, or the bolt to the gut both he and Kei sustained in quick succession. Take your pick. From what he could see no one had made it out without shedding blood. His brows furrowed with concern as he studied her up close. Her cloak made it impossible to gauge if she was seriously injured, but that didn't stop him from worrying. "what of you? are you okay?" He frowned slightly at her obvious concern as she pushed back some of his hair, and wiped blood from his face.

Stryke realized as they spoken could almost make eye contact with the older yellowblood without tipping his head back. Something that had been impossible in the past. He hadn't really noticed until now.

His shoulders sagged slightly at one point. Oh he certainly knew what her tone meant. Kursha was not a topic he was ready to discuss. "i'm trying not to examine it to closely right now. he chose his path and i mine." His teeth clenched slightly, jaw muscles visibly flexing as he grit his teeth. That wasn't why he was here, maybe another time when they weren't surrounded by the entire rebel forces. He'd cried enough because of one troll. Their history was way too complicated and twisted like a deadly roller-coaster. It had always been tremulous at best; this had just been the nail in the coffin.

He touched her hand on his shoulder in a comforting gesture, giving it a gentle squeeze. "i.." he opened and closed his mouth before he let out a small sigh. His fingers gripping her hand a little tighter, looking her in the eyes finally. "vremea..i plan to go act as a runner to help the caravan escape. they need volunteers." He blurted, biting his lip as he tried to square his shoulders and show her he meant it.

Oh no, they had been hurt, and badly too! She couldn't help much with her body in this state, but the yellowblood was willing to try. With a nervous hand the yellowblood's eyes rose from eying his jacket to his eyes, staring directly at him. "Wait a moment? I... Alright?" It must've been something serious if wounds were to be put off to talk about... Whatever it was he was thinking about. Listening attentively, Vremea waved off his worry— She was thankful she had wrapped herself in her cape, or else he might have seriously been worried if he'd seen her stomach. It was starting to throb now, she would have to look at it soon... "Yes, I am fine. A little beaten up, but other than that, fine." She definitely didn't want to worry him, especially now, when he had something to say.

She adjusted her torn up dress nervously, feeling a little bad for Athene as her tailor— Not only did she repair her clothes whenever they broke, but every single conflict they had been in recently had rendered most of those dresses completely useless. Listening to Stryke in regard to Kursha, Vremea's hands squeezed his shoulders, rubbing them softly. Now was not a time to get angry, though she could feel her own anger bubbling in her chest. They had gone to restart after a betrayal, only to have another right behind. She exhaled softly. "You are right, and I am sorry for bringing him up." He would need to think about this later, on his own time.

Watching his hand slide to her own hand, Vremea first felt the pressure of his words on her pump biscuit before the pressure of his hands. Her eyes widened considerably as they stared each other, and she felt a sinking feeling in her body before fully registering his words. "You... Are planning to go?" Her lips pursed considerably and her hands faltered in their strength. He might as well have been saying he was going off to war, with his tone. Opening her mouth, Vremea was shellshocked, closing it soon after before looking down and pursing her lips. She wanted to protest and tell him to stay with her and help the mother grub, but he was right and them keeping the attention away from the mother grub was their aim and no one cared about how much she wanted to keep him safe. Stryke was help, and he was good help. He wanted to make a difference, he wanted to help make a change. Vremea's hand faltered in his, only now seeing that he had grown: Not just visually, but mentally as well. For some reason her desire to protect him was strong, and it hurt Vremea to hear he wanted to go.

"Are you sure?" Vremea asked nervously, tempted to try and convince him to stay— "You could get captured. What if you became even more wounded? I will not be there to help...!" The dam of feelings had finally broken, and Vremea's hand slid into his to squeeze back. "Are you completely sure?" She couldn't have him having second doubts on this. She searched his face for an inkling of doubt, frowning. She just wanted to keep him safe... He looked worse for wear, and... Oh, what was she doing... She couldn't lock him up...! "I apologize. You just— I... I worry..." Almost too much, nowadays.

Stryke had reason to believe she wasn't being fully honest with him; her nervous stance was a giveaway. Even in his present state, he took in every nuance as they spoke as it was Stryke's way of being. It was a calm and familiar routine to observe, especially given an emotionally tense situation. "i hope ssso...you had best rest whilst you can vremea." His voice stressed just a tiny bit, fussing over her as his brows knit together slightly. He'd have forsaken his need to tell her his plan for action if he had an inclination if she needed attention. The idea of her hurt beyond repair made his blood pusher squeeze unnecessarily tightly.

Realizing he'd actually been angrier sounding than he'd intended for, his sigh was a deflated one. She didn't deserve the misdirection. "no. i'm sorry i didn't mean to snap at you. he had to have had his reasons, but actions speak louder than words." Stryke tried to smooth his jacket pockets down some, it was in better shape than he'd expected, although the brown coat was damaged. Several buttons were missing, and would likely have to be replaced along with his undershirt and vest as it'd been burned in several locations. No matter, he'd likely wear a cloak for traveling anyway.

The look in her yellow eyes nearly made him regret telling her his decision. "honestly and logically speaking? this might be the stupidest thing i've ever done in all my sweeps. i'm afraid of what might happen, but i will not bow so easily. i know what i stand for." He stated the last part with conviction. "it's going to be dangerous no matter where we go...i want to do my part to keep what's important safe so we can all rebuild." He spared the older troll a cynical tone of voice for a kinder one.

As Stryke explained, a smile returned to replace that worried face to reassure her this time. "now stop that...i promise to come back. i don't plan on being reckless without cause. we'll all find our right timing." He added in a low, soft tone. The flame of determination still smoldered behind grey'd pupils despite his reservations. Still, Stryke hadn't expected this to be painful, or leave him feeling this nervous. The feeling was a similar fashion to the first time he'd gone to Chittentown's market alone without his lusus glued to his side. Independence was both a blessing and curse of growing up. More importantly it wasn't like this was a goodbye forever, they would meet again. Somehow their desperate plan would work; it just had to as there was no turning back, or fall back for that matter.

It was all or nothing and he wouldn't be the only one giving it their all no matter the role they played.

Hearing Stryke's words, guilty feeling seeped into her. "I-I will, er, rest a little more. But I am honestly alright!" Was she really that bad of a liar? She somehow knew she wasn't, but she felt like she couldn't hide anything from Stryke, anyways. He would notice or find out through other means. It was just the way he worked.

As the yellowblood explained his frustration, Vremea squeezed his hand. Always thinking about reasons. It was true, Kursha must've had something deeper than that lurking in his mind. Possibly. She didn't know if it was partly her fault due to a previous... Uncommon ground, but the yellowblood was doubtful. It took more than rejection for one to out themselves and and ruin a full organization. "You had reason to want to release some emotion. You are probably very frustrated right now, like I am." She murmured, letting anger flash in her eyes. "It is hard to hold this all back. It feels like at any moment, my feelings will rush out."

      And oh, they definitely did.

The more she heard from Stryke, only more and more tears dribbled down her cheeks, some unintentional, others definitely not needed. She however, knew there was no convincing the yellowblood, so she merely wiped her tears after a few and deflated a little, sniffing. She managed a chuckle before looking at the mother grub. She was startled and looked frightened with all the trolls around her. Vremea would have to leave soon. Glancing back toward Stryke, she gave him a defeated smile. "To be completely honest, I would have gone, myself." She said softly, a gentle chuckle bubbling from her mouth. Tears pricked her eyes again, and she quickly squeezed them shut, sighing softly. No more. She felt bad, almost as if she was guilt tripping him.

"Yes. I am so nervous. I never thought this would happen so soon. I am proud we managed to fight and hold our ground, but... We are fighting against an army." Vremea's voice was grave. "The army. One that has no tolerance for trolls that oppose their regime. We need... All the help we can get. And as a fellow Initiative member, I am proud of you." She stayed quiet for a second, looking at the ground before she continued to speak. "As a friend, however..." Vremea struggled to keep herself composed, worrying her lip. "Please, please take care. Try not get captured..." Though after what he said, the yellowblood knew he knew this was not a game. "Alright. If— If you have faith in that, I guess I shall too."

The lithe yellowblood slid her hand to her broach, fiddling with it some before removing it and offering it to Stryke. She had planned to heal herself later, but she knew she could manage with her powers. "Here. Give it to me when you return." She murmured— She was sure she knew what it was, but just in case... "You press the jewel in the middle and it will heal the area touched. Please use it well."

Given her insistence to the state of her being, Stryke let the subject drop without further pressure on her. Hopefully she meant it; she was one of the few remaining trolls alive he trusted without question. Looking at her with a small nod he at least relented that much information to her. "you are right..that is an eloquent way of relating it. emotions are a tidal force i suppose." His voice trailed off as he glanced away frowning in a hard line.

Now making her cry from fear was not what he'd intended to do. Alarmed, he gently clasped her shoulder with his free hand. "vremea...i.." He stopped talking, letting her talk and see her peace. She had the right to voice her concern for him, he wouldn't deny her that. Everything she had to say was right after all. "i apologize, i didn't mean to make you this upset.." He rubbed at the sleeve of his jacket his teeth worrying at his bottom lip some as he glanced away.

Stryke watched her as she tried to offer out her trinket to him, he felt the start of tears threatening in his eyes as he softly shook his head. No that was too much; he wouldn't take something that could help her. "n-no..you might need it. you'll be with a larger group and what if you're exhausted?" He explained as his hand touched hers, gently closing her grasp over it as he met her sad gaze. What if he was captured and couldn't return the artifact to her? Stryke could promise her all he wanted about not getting caught but if somehow he couldn't return her possession he would have felt guilty beyond measure.

His shoulders stiffened a little, he'd have to be stronger than that if he expected to make it out of this mess alive. "thank you regardlesss, you are too kind." Stryke lowered his hand from her shoulder letting it rest at his side before going to withdraw his hand that hand made her fingers close back over heart-shaped item.

Emotions really were uncontrollable. As soon as he apologized, she merely waved him off, thankful she had managed to put herself together after her initial tear-fest. She rubbed her tears off carefully, cracking a smile at his words. "I cried mostly due to worry. It is alright, truly. I am just being a worry-wart."

After she offered her broach, she stared at him for a bit, pouting. Was he just not going to allow her to help him? His words made her brow raise and her hand holding the broach fall, to her side, her free hand sliding to her hip, a humorous smile spreading across her face. "Stryke Nvrmor," Vremea started, eyes lowering slightly, "Are you calling me old?" Her voice was light and humorous, resisting a chuckle she felt bubbling in her throat. She was still strong enough to heal a couple trolls, she was sure. The battle wasn't as hard on her and she still felt at least half of her stamina. Sighing, however, the yellowblooded adult's smile drooped, looking down. "Alright, if you say so." She'd have to respect his wishes, then. He was old enough to take care of himself. "Is there anything I can do? May I heal you? Or maybe..." Perhaps, there was something she could give him. Pursing her lips, the yellowblood thought a little before her eyebrows rose slightly and she quickly reached behind her, thankful her bow was mostly fine. She easily ripped off a piece of it, offering it to him. "Is this alright?" Athene would be cross with her, but then again, the dress was entirely ruined. "It is just... For you to hold it for me. I believe in you. And if anything happens... I will definitely do my best to save you."

Stryke gave her a gentle smile, at her mentioning she was a worry-wart. It wasn't like her concern was misguided or meant to be cruel. The younger yellowblood understood and merely gave her a small nod of understanding. "i'll give you that much." He relented with a slight incline of his head.

His calm veneer faltered as she placed her hands on her hip. The tone of her voice broke his composure as his eyes dilated with surprise. Hearing her use his full name his face flushed with yellow across his cheeks, alarmed he actually sputtered initially. "w..what?! vremeeeaaa no! of courss--se not!!" The tone was childish in nature, a long drown out whine instead of her name being spoken normally was joined by a weird high pitched noise of surprise. His lower lip jutted out in a pout as he huffed looking embarrassed and rather sour. "you are hardly old!" He quickly added before he realized she'd been teasing him. A wry laugh followed as he looked away, his face burning a little hotter than before.

The laughter faded as he looked back to see her rip her bow. Eyes searching he lifted his dominate left hand out to her. "yesss...this i will take and keep safe." Stryke offered to take it, intending to wrap the ribbon around his wrist. "i'll do my best to stay safe.." He answered her with a softer look in his eyes when she again offered to heal him. "likely the stomach one...the rest can be wrapped i think." Finally Stryke relented so she wouldn't worry so much.

The laugh that bubbled from her mouth was soft and pleasant thankfully— If she laughed a little harder, it probably would've been bad. Her terrible laugh, exposed to everyone! Oh goodness, no. As soon as he whined and flushed yellow, the adult continued to giggle, enjoying this throughly. Stryke was acting indignant— It was endearing in nature, and Vremea couldn't help but chuckle a little harder, carefully holding her side. It was just a little joke to let off some steam!

Definitely a joke. "you are hardly old!" Good. Vremea would've blown a gasket had she not heard those lines.

Laughs fading, Vremea resisted the urge to cry again when he wrapped it around his wrist, deflating a little and squeezing his shoulder. "You are so strong, Stryke." She murmured, leaning forward and pressing her forehead into his. "I have faith in you." Pulling away, the older yellowblood smiled. "Let us go get those injuries healed then, shall we? I have learned a thing or two about wrapping wounds recently..."

It felt nice to laugh, and have a moment to just forget about his fears and worries. The tension in his tired body eased as she giggled at him, making him roll his eyes playfully. It hadn't been that funny, he'd just been shocked by her remark was all really!

"and you vremea, are brave for your courage and deeds." He answered her softly, his hand reaching up to touch her hand over his shoulder. The shorter yellowblood leaned into her forehead touched with his own, and even surrounded by the rebels both purpose and accidental his eyes closed slowly. He leaned into her for just a moment...it was hard to keep up a calm veneer when he felt like his armor would crack and fall without warning.

Thankfully the contact was brief, although it was comforting. She may have been like a second lusus, but Vremea was not his moiriall Stryke needn't remind himself. Truthfully he just didn't want to potentially upset Vremea's redblood. It wasn't like he felt that way older yellowblood, it was just nice to have someone who cared. His warped emotions were pushed down deeper into a metaphorical locked box to be kept tight under lock and key.

Just as she did Stryke pulled back, moving to walk. Giving her a nod in agreement a small smile lingered on his face. They didn't need to speak; he knew she was well read. Stryke trusted her medical knowledge as he was certain it was leaps and bound beyond his own. If he said anything else it that moment it was forgotten to be uttered aloud as he spent what precious time she could afford him before needing to move onto the next task.
