You must scale a very high mountain in order to get these eggs. - Your character is dropped off at the base of the mountain. The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. To scale the mountain, you must write a jaunty 250 word post of your character scaling the mountain. You can do this as you please, there are plenty of angry nesting minipets, boulders, and possibly giant serpents blocking your way. As you reach the top, obtain the egg, and you are ready to begin your descent. - Every single creature possible, especially rolling sand lobsters, will try to destroy your egg. Roll 1d4 four times and match your dice roll to the prompt below to reach the bottom of the mountain. Yes, repeats do happen if you roll a repeat. Your egg has 10 HP. If you make it down without the egg reaching 0 HP (breaking) you made it! 1) A sand lobster rolls right into your egg and nearly breaks it! -2 HP 2) Strange velociraptor minipets are hungrily staring at your egg. They try to attack it! -1 HP 3) A giant snake smacks you with its giant tail. Ouch! -3 HP 4) Nothing happens. You were lucky! gaia_smilies/icon_star.gif If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get herbivore egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

The mood of the villagers seemed to have shifted slightly, he noticed when he walked back from looking into the virus they had claimed struck some of their pets. They seemed less hostile but still held a little a little reservation. Or maybe it was just him. It was hard to tell and part of him stopped caring.
The one that had approached him still seemed nervous and he simply gave them a bland look followed by the slightest bit of agreement that he could muster. The horseman remained still and silent as they took him to the base of the mountain he would be asked to climb and said nothing else as they left, just turned to the rocky hill and gave it a look over.
He climbed. Slowly. His wings fluttered, the only outward sign of agitation over his actions. Because he was actually taking them, moving when he could have easily just stayed below. But Lurks was not here to gather things for him and he would need to do it himself; he had done it before. Getting eggs seemed promising and he could only hope he would be able to keep one after the venture was over. (Or at least something).
His bony feet planted into the rocky hillside as he continued his ascent, his yellow eyes glancing about every few steps for the trail that would be easiest to make. There had only been a few obstacles, a few missteps and an accidental encounter with an hole filled with angry humbugs. (So tempting to snatch one). The slow speed probably helped, allowed him to avoid the possible giant serpents (but he would have wanted to see those) and those large boulders.
Eventually he made it to the location of the eggs and greedily took one in his hands.

Waits held the egg in his bony hands, letting them slide across its rough surface, admiring it before he decided to finally bring it back down (he didn't want to give it away). Despite the many layers of cloth that covered his being, there were not a lot of places to hold something as delicate as an egg. Supplies, sure, he had much of those but so many were sharp and pointy and would not be ideal places for the egg. It was simply kept in his arms, clutched tightly enough to not allow it to crack.
It was his only worry when he began to go back down the mountain.

They had avoided him on the way up, but somehow on the way down - perhaps they had noticed the egg he had in his hands - one of the giant snakes had located him. It hissed at him and snapped at him with its giant tale, nearly sent him crashing into the hillside. Waits hissed himself, throat rattled and clicked in irritation and anger. How dare it!
He actually wanted to retaliate but it was already gone before he could make him move. The horseman huffed, regrouped and continued down.Quote: egg hp: 7/10 damage to egg: 3

If the snake hadn't been enough of a hassle, Waits soon found something even more agitating in the form of land crustaceans.. that rolled. And seemed to have decent aim in order to hit the egg he held and almost brought him off his feet. Once again. Waits growled at it.
Normally he liked such things, but not when they tried to take something from him and cause harm to his being.Quote: egg hp: 5/10 damage to egg: 2

But the assault didn't seem to end there and despite his best efforts to dodge the lobster's barreling attack but the attempt was futile. It struck just as hard as the last strike, his feet kicked up sand as he stumbled backwards. The egg jostled in his arms, a little wear began to finally show from the abuse but it still seemed to remain intact.
He was so close to the bottom, so close. Waits' throat rattled with irritation and his wings buzzed lightly. His body would protest with him, but it would be for the best for him to just make a run for it. And he did, down the rest of the mountain so the egg would reach no more harm... well, from there at least.
There was no telling what he would try to do with it if he were allowed to keep it. It was a beautiful thing after all. Waits grinned and looked at his prize.Quote: egg hp: 3/10 damage to egg: 2
