Wiping her brow, feeling a bit beat from all the running around doing errands she'd kept herself busy with, the ghoul felt like taking it a little easy now. Just til she could catch her breath, and recover a bit more from those turkey bites she'd earned on her legs. The stockings she sported were torn in some areas thanks to those pesky beaks shredding them with ease. No matter, it sorta matched her look anyways. Besides, what was so bad about a few holes in otherwise perfectly functioning footwear?
Meandering about, hands tucked comfortably into her pockets, white eyes scanning the people around her, she took to noting that few weren't scowling or glaring at her, and actually seemed preoccupied elsewhere. Perhaps with her recent helping they might have warmed up a little? Speaking of which, it seemed that a few others had been joining in the help, too! Surely these guys would soften up a little after all this help, right...?
Cannon, on the other hand, wasn't thinking along the same lines as his reaper. He still remained en guarde, and kept so close to Verusha that he'd brush against her leg with each pass it made in their walk. His ears perked up when he felt their path shift, pinning them back swiftly when he realized that his summoner was going to engage with one of the natives! he didn't like this idea one bit....

Sauntering up to one villager who seemed at least a little less hostile, expression wise, Verusha tipped her head to try and get a better look at him as he seemed diligently intent on his work. He was chopping at finely blocked pieces of wood, halving them on a brick. It seemed odd he'd wear such a thick, heavy cloak though... made it hard to see his face too, at the angle he was at.
But she cleared her throat a little, and shifted her weight, before speaking up, "Hey, mind if I ask you a question or two?" she started.
But there was no response. The man didn't even hitch from his fluid movements, as if he'd not even registered her presence. Unfortunately for him, the ghoul didn't seem phased by being ignored. So she spoke again.
"You all are keeping pretty covered up with those cloaks there. Aren't they pretty uncomfortable?" she inquired. But like before, there was nothing but the solid thunk of axe splitting wood, and the stagnant silence from the man. Looks like she wasn't going to get anywhere with him. Oh well. Onto another villager who would hopefully be more willing to talk.

Continuing on her way, she looked about at those who were out and about, hoping one might seem less threatened by her presence than the majority of the pack. Those who were busy, or involved in some sort of activity seemed the best bet... at least that way they couldn't just walk away from what they were doing.
Finding someone who was preoccupied wasn't too hard. Soon enough, Verusha came upon an individual who was sitting by a spit, roasting some rather interesting looking fish. They were doing a far better job than she had with that turkey, that's for darn sure. Standing there for awhile, just watching in silence, while Cannon glared intently at the villager, Verusha tried to pick through her little list of questions to find a less bothersome one. Maybe if she warmed them up with something causal, it could help get somewhere.
"So. What's with all this fog? Sure is thick." she muttered, head turning to glance about in gesture. But to her surprise, when she looked back, the villager had the cooked fish offered towards her, making the ghoul smile, and part her lips to speak in gratitude... only to be cut short when the fish was yanked back to its owner, and given a hearty bite.
This managed to make the reaper snicker and laugh lightly, before shaking her head. "Alright, I'll leave you be." It looked like she wasn't going to get anywhere with these folks... for now.
