Kemnebi looked around at the people milling about. Some of them had stopped to take in the scene of the crash, but most were just ignoring the crash entirely. Even the ones that had stopped to look began turning away, completely unconcerned with what was happening, disappearing into the fog. Kemnebi frowned; what kind of people just ignored crashes...or really anything different that happened in town?
Also, what was with the get-ups? Nebi might not be the most fashion forward ghoul in town, but cloaks? On everyone? Why? Her tail lashed behind her with nervous energy, the were-panther did not like this place much. Still, she needed to find out how to get back to the school and possibly find help for anyone who needed it. After all, someone here had to be willing to help. Right?
Kemnebi walked through the streets, trying to get someone, anyone to stand still long enough to talk. Everytime she tried to flag someone down or even simply stood in their way, they turned or went around her or otherwise avoided the ghoul.
Chop, chop, chop
Nebi's ear twitched as she picked up the sound of someone cutting wood. She whipped around, quick as you please, and headed for it. If someone was cutting wood, that meant they were going to stay in one place for a while! Finally! She rounded a corner and, sure enough, there was one of the cloaked figures chopping wood in it's front yard. Really? A cloak during something like this?
Chop, chop, chop
"Excuse me, do you know when the next bus is coming?" Kemnebi asked, running up to the fence. The chopping didn't cease. Maybe he hadn't heard? "Sir? The bus. When is the next one?"
Chop, chop, chop
"Oookaay...Can you at least tell me where I am?" Chop "Or get help for my friends?" Chop "Hello! I'm talking to you!" The man finally paused...just to turn his back on her and continue his chore.
CHOP, CHOP, CHOP
"Fine." Kemnebi growled, turning and storming off. She'd ask someone else, someone not so freaking rude. JACK but the people here were the rudest creatures on the planet. Tail swishing angrily, she went off to go corner someone else.
Kemnebi headed back to the street with the bus crash, hoping that she'd see someone else, preferably someone helpful. Once again she was met by cloaked figures that refused to talk to her, walking around her, moving across the street, even turning and going back the way they came. What kind of people were these? One or two rude people were to be expected...but the whole town? Kemnebi stopped in the middle of the street, just watching the cloaked figures go by, most giving her a wide berth.
Finally, after what seemed hours, someone walked towards her, waving. Oh thank Jack, a normal person in the midst of all these strange character. Kemnebi raised her hand to wave back. "Oh, thank you, do you know where I...." the girl faltered as the cloaked figure, still waving, walked right passed her. Oh. Well, that was more in keeping with the town, obviously. Nebi actually felt a little embarrassed that she hadn't figured it out, but she had wanted so bad to find some help.
Growling, she kicked a rock, uncaring if she hit one of the villagers or not, and headed back to the crash scene. She had a pack with snacks back there and it was as good as any a place to regroup and figure out what was going on. Maybe she'd even find one of her friends she'd lost in the disorientation of the bus crash. She had noticed a few people wandering away by the time she'd pulled herself out.
