Quote: gaia_star [ Quest 2: ] Steak your grounds (Click spoiler for mechanics) The village is running low on food and it is up to you to find some steaks and cook them for the village. You are granted exactly one portable spit though you will have to do the hunting yourself. Right in the outskirts of the village are EVIL HAND TURKEYS. They have 10 HP each, which your character will have to defeat in normal battle combat style (attack with the dice mechanics of your current character until it hits 0 HP). They do -2 auto damage to you every time you hit it. When you have defeated a turkey, you can carve from it, a turkey steak. Roll 1d10 to cook your steak. If you roll 1-5 your steak is raw, if you roll 6-8 your steak is perfect, if you roll 9-10 you steak is unedible. Only RAW and perfect steaks are allowed. gaia_star If you acquire a perfect steak, it is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list.

Who in Halloween looked at Piper and thought she'd make a good cook? Did they not see her flawless skin? Her amazing tattoos? Her gorgeous hair? Her well manicure nails? Did they not have eyes. She was in no way skilled or prepared for the job, but the villagers, when they weren't busy hiding in their holes or looking eerie, were very adamant about getting their help. Well, whatever made them less hostile...
Good thing she had her hair tied back already from previous jobs.
Hunting wasn't exactly her forte either but, well, fighting was. That was close enough, right? So she took her spear from the villager with a mumbled thanks and made to go looking for some minis when they started up the hullabaloo again on someone else. Curious, she turned to see who'd end up being her partner.
And then Piper saw the scorpion tattoo and froze.

At some point, Wrath had gotten separated from Na'ima. He wasn't really worried about her. He knew her sister was in the village somewhere as well and it was quite likely that the two of them were doing...whatever it was that mares did together when they were alone (which included chatting about him, apparently). He took the opportunity of a little alone time to wander the village some more, and to attempt to get to know the natives a little bit better. They were stuck there, after all, and it would have been nice to have some light shed on whether or not they were going to be able to leave any time soon, and how, exactly, that was going to happen. But every villager seemed much the same as the rest. Quiet, closed off, keeping to themselves as much as possible, though every once in a while there would be one that required help with something, and while Wrath was certainly capable, it seemed that after the whole basilisk fiasco, he was at least somewhat more wary of what he jumped into. The request didn't seem so awful, however, and after only a little bit of convincing, he agreed, much to the seeming relief of the townsperson, who then steered him in the direction of a young filly who looked almost familiar.... Ah yes! He remembered seeing her, briefly, as he had run past her on his search for his pants! Giving her a tooth-filled grin, he extended one leather and steel clad hand towards her. "Hello. I do not think we were able to properly meet, earlier! I am Wrath. It seems we are to go and do a little bit of hunting together." His grin widened. "At least this time I think I will keep my clothes on. Unless, of course, you think I looked better without." He then winked at her.

Oh she knew what he sort of looked like proper all right. Grateful that her dark skin hid most of the blush, she replied in a forcibly casual manner, "Y-Yup, looks like. I mean the hunting bit. Look, keep your jackin' clothes on, beefy, or your lady friend'll get jealous." She didn't want to get distracted. Stupid winks.
Man, this village was out to get her in some shenanigans. But hey, she could do worse than have a really nicely muscled boil along for the ride...Especially since her friends were more on the thin side.
After a little bit of foraging, they came across several wild turkey. Piper had to stifle at snicker. Their expressions looked so goofy up close like this! With a show of cracking her knuckles at the horseman, she summoned her weapon, aimed the cannon-jug at one of the minipets, and fired a blast of water at it.
Immediately the flock began a series of flustered, loud, wet gobbling that caused Piper to start guffawing.

Wrath tried not to laugh but failed, a deep chuckle rumbling out from his throat as he reached up to run the metal claw over his index finger through his beard. "I had not thought of that. The jealousy, I mean. I am not sure she is really the type to get jealous, however....." His voice trailed off, and he fell into step beside her, moving off to wherever it was they were supposed to go to fight off these turkey's. "...Might it not be interesting to find out?" He grinned, and waggled his eyebrows at her, before chuckling again, clearly pleased with himself, and his ability to fluster the filly. After that it was back to business as he looked for signs of the wild turkey they were meant to seek out, doing his best to guide them in the correct direction until they came upon them. And then he was fairly distracted by the filly's jug to really do much. A turkey did, however, walk up and peck him on the foot. HP: 38 Damage: 0 Turkey HP:

Part of her balked that the dude may or may not have been serious. But...nah. No way. Her eyes were set on a stupid nerd, not this...this stupid, mockyish laughing...hunk of meat...
"I-I mean...What, no!" Piper knocked her head against her weapon and made a face at the horseman. "Ew, gross! I'm fine just watching you get owned by these birds, thanks."
Speaking of ownage.
With a sneaky look, she aimed her jug at a cluster near the horseman and blasted them with more water. Look, it was where her target was! So what if he got splashed and stuck in the middle of some wet birds? It wasn't on purpose.

Wrath got splashed all right, but it did nothing to phase him, as water droplets glistened along the bare skin of his muscular arms and across his broad, tattooed chest. Shaking his head, his flowing locks of manliness streamed out behind him, and he reached up to run fingers through it, before side stepping away from the wet turkeys, summoning his vicious looking curved sword, and swinging a swath through a nearby group of gathered gobblers.
"Are you sure?" He asked, waggling his dampened eyebrows.

"Toooootally sure," Piper said with a snicker. Her plan might have backfired, but, well, at least it was a show! A glistening, shiny show. "Hey, grab my kill once you're done swinging that thing around, will ya?"
She felt a little bad to kill a bird herself, but at least it wasn't an owl.

"Suit yourself." His voice rumbled out as he suddenly became quite engrossed in the task at hand, swinging through the poultry a second time with a wicked smile toying at his lips.

Blood was exciting, which may have been why Wrath suddenly went rather overboard with all of his slicing and hacking, leaving a tattered mess of feathers and flesh in his wake.
Eventually he stopped, gathered up his kill, and turning, grabbed one for the filly as well, before moving back towards her and handing it over.

Whooooaaaa the guy really got physical. She winced on behalf of the poor minipet suffering it.
And then she winced for her own suffering as he handed hers over with a blood-sticky hand.
"Tha-anks..."
Jack, she didn't know the first thing about carving a steak from this thing. Technically she didn't really eat a whole lot of meat to begin with, so the whole exercise was testing her patience and stomach. Nevermind cooking it. So she went a little easy on the fire, growing a little queasy with the smell shortly after she started.
They....They could totally eat this semi-raw, right? The villager she passed it too didn't seem too fussed about it, so, well, there you had it.

"You are quite welcome." His deep voice drawled as he handed the Turkey over to her, sticky with blood fingers gliding along the back of her hand before he moved away to tend to his own kill.
Once the feathers were removed and the meat carved, Wrath used the portable spit to cook it to utter perfection (much like he himself was), humming all the while. When it was finished, he returned to the village, spirits fairly high.
