Polaris had forgotten. A promise at that.
Though she had, at the very least, sent her regular cellphone number, name, and address to Delphi's civilian cellphone.. When everything happened with her father's illness and her trip to Alaska she'd just been so overwhelmed and she'd up and forgotten the promise she had made to take Delphi both to Polaris and the moon.
It was a thought that was met with absolute horror when she finally remembered, while pawing through her senshi cellphone when she returned to Destiny City after her year long absence. And for days she's been too nervous and guilty to actually try and call the other girl and apologize and make things right.
But finally, after a phone call that probably included a dozen or more I am SO sorrys plans had been made and a promise was finally going to be kept.
Waiting at the arranged meeting place the eternal senshi kept watch, trying to distract herself from the fact that she knew she'd be drowning poor Delphi in about a dozen more apologies.Sleet Tempest Snape Went ahead and put it here even though the first couple of posts take place in DC

She had, at first, felt forgotten and thought the worst of things, thought she'd opened herself up much too easily and far too swiftly. She'd gotten past it though, she was able to do that well, and soon certain things were swept away and forgotten. She hadn't gone to the moon nor Polaris and both were fine with her. She'd been caught up in work and school and powered up from time to time but not as often as she supposed she should, she didn't do enough. It seemed much of what had been spoken about that night so long ago had vanished, taken away by the night winds.
The phone call was unexpected, for obvious reasons, and Winterlynn had not been sure if she should accept the arranged meeting but she did so - they would meet. She would hear the other and try and survive all the apologies, there had been plenty of those over the phone already, and then the long over due trip? She assumed that was how things would go.
Dressing in loose clothing, something to survive the summer heat, Winterlynn had left her apartment and headed toward the meeting spot. It was at some point, a little more than half way to the meeting location, that she powered up and continued on her journey. Picking up the aura of an eternal senshi as she drew closer.

Polaris/Aurora would not have blamed Delphi if she had snubbed her. If she'd told her to 'go to hell' and hung up the phone she couldn't have blamed her at all. Because she had made promises, and spoke beautiful words of a relationship that she had then promptly neglected. Certainly they weren't friends yet, but still, as a princess it was expected (at least from herself) that she do better. How many times had she heard knights complain about not knowing their princesses and wanting to? She knew better.
But unfortunately the past was the past and there was nothing she could do about it except try and make up for it in the future. As long as Delphi did indeed arrive, because it was entirely possible the other girl would blow her off.
The aura that approached was one of a squire, not the page that Polaris had met all that time ago. Was that her? Shifting one her feet, she shifted the cloak and coat she was carrying from one arm to the other.

When she stepped around a corner, under a street lamp, she had changed in uniform but not all that much. The boots were higher and strands of crystals were a more prevalent thing on her uniform. Perhaps the biggest thing, aside from the crystals, was that where there had once been one symbol for Polaris, right at her chest, there was now two; one on either side of her coat. Speaking of coat it was longer, a good several inches longer than it had once been.
Her weapon was different too but not as different as her uniform was, but still the change was there. Held in her right hand, at her side, she stood there for a moment unmoving right under the lamp light. Then she was turning to face the eternal senshi and slowly something of a smile came to be and purple eyes lit up.
Moving toward the her, coat swaying behind her, the sleeve of her coat swallowed up her gloved hands and hid the new weapon she had. The squire of Delphi was tall, around 5'9" with those heels on and she walked well in them, having grown used to heels a long time ago. "Polaris." She called out, still surprised to see her again - it had been so long. Would the other be glad to see her? She had sounded upset on the phone. Would she be proud of the change in uniform? Wait...why was she holding a coat and a cloak?
"Why the clothing?" Motioning to what the other was holding draped over an arm.Iris_virus (I kept looking between her page and squire art to see the differences/changes - lol.)

Some of that initial nervousness faded, or rather was pushed back, as a feeling of excitement welled up in her chest. The aura did belong to Delphi, and though the physical changes were more subtle then some experienced there was a definate difference, and Polaris was admiring it, even taking a few steps forward to do so. She was a squire, not just a page now. And her new uniform was lovely and warm looking. That meant she'd have magic now too, what would it be like? And it of course meant that, despite her being gone, Delphi had continued on doing her job. Responsible. It was a trait she admired and was happy to see within one of her knights.
"Congratulations Delphi!" She bubbled, motioning towards the squire's uniform in case she didn't know what the senshi was talking about. "I'm so glad to see you look well."
At the mention of clothing she looked down to her arm, making a sort of amused noise at the realization that the coat she'd brought for Delphi might not even be necessary. "It's pretty cold where we are going, though it looks like you might not need one of these after all."
"We should go though, we'll have all the time in the world to talk once we get there." The last bit of distance between them was braced with a few quick steps, and when Polaris was close, she extended her hand lightly. Would Delphi take it?
"I could take you there myself. But it's a good idea for you to learn how to do it yourself in case you need to, so I'll walk you through it."
"Besides, if you do it we'll be taken straight to Delphi instead of having to hunt across Polaris for it." That probably seemed a very strange statement to girl who hadn't traveled to space before.
"You just need to focus and concentrate. Whether that means closing your eyes or looking up towards our star." They were lucky really.. to have a homeworld that was so clearly visible all the time. "Think of the north star and of your wonder. Or the code. Do you remember what it felt like when you powered up to squire?" They were all suggestions, spoken quietly and with encouragement. She was after all not a knight herself, and could only go off of what she'd heard.

Looking down at herself for a moment she realized what the other meant and nodded. "It took some time. I've been busy." Real life, school and work, she was still lacking and not doing much but apparently it was enough for the new uniform and the magic she had; which had come in handy New Years eve. She still couldn't believe they'd launched such a public attack, though it seemed a common theme. But why did it have to become where every public thing, every event for the community, was something to be scared and worried about? It was certainly something a terrorist would do, as it made people feel unsafe, but it would be nice if for once the community could come together and not have to worry, or at least have a safe night.
"We will see. I like the cold anyway." She had not grown up in Russia, like her parents and the rest of her family, but she had visited more than once and some of those visits had been in the winter. She could handle a little cold and this uniform would certainly help.
"Yes, let's go." Taking the offered hand with her gloved left hand. Oh! She would be taking them...this was unexpected and not something she'd done. Instructions though was a good thing. She knew she'd heard how to do it once, a long time ago, but hearing them again was a relief; she was sure she couldn't do it otherwise.
"I think I can do it." The suggestions would help, though it seemed there was no way for certain and it differed with each person - lovely. She wasn't good with blanking her mind, never had been, so instead she chose to look starward and focus on that. At least looking at that would focus her thoughts there. She didn't have a clue what to expect up there so she couldn't think on that but instead focused on the idea of cold, as she knew it would be cold there, and on the feeling when she had first powered up and when she'd made Squire. It was a similar feeling after all.
She wasn't expecting the change in scenery though, as if she doubted she could do it, nor was the cold and wind expected when she felt the cold sting of winter against her face. it was summer, and a hot summer, in Destiny City so the drastic change was a shock and unexpected - it was pleasing though...she had managed it and the change was also jarring.
She hadn't looked around yet, if she had she might have noticed the plaza they were in. Open and mostly undercoated save what appeared a large fountain. It was around them that buildings stood tall and proud. To their right stood several tall buildings each having several flights of steps to go up to reach the doors, a roof over hanging; held up by grandiose pillars, so anyone loitering outside the doors would be protected by the snow. Words were embossed above the doors leading into the large buildings, words the knight could not understand and had her casting a curious look to the eternal at her side - could she understand it somehow?
It was when she looked to the other that she spied similar buildings to the left of them, almost a mirror image. Just as decorative and elegant, the stairs large and sweeping with banisters that were as highly decorated as the columns which held up the roves - yes a very Greek feel but the metal which everything was made from was a very odd thing to see combined with the style displayed here. "Someone liked Greek architecture." And added metal to it - lots of metal. It was ahead of them where something even bigger was found. A large building, larger than the others and it was just one building rather than several buildings, with a round dome ceiling sprouting up form it's center. More columns and another similar roof to the other buildings but this one was larger, higher up, with more steps to climb up to reach the columns and the doors which lay beyond them just waiting to be opened for the first time in how long? From the top of the done a spiral of metal shot up into the sky and from it's top stood, in crystal form, the symbol for the planet they were on - Polaris.
The building was huge, casting them both in it's shadow, but on it's right and left, where it met with the buildings to their right and left, where two smaller buildings. Both were round, eight stories high, and each level seemed to be open but no it was windows. Tall windows, perhaps floor to ceiling, The windows were rounded at the tops and straight at the bottom, she could imagine the lights on inside being seen from the outside - it must have looked warm and inviting. Even the domed tops of these two structures had windows from which light could pour out...or in perhaps.
"This is Delphi..." She whispered before looking around again, lavender hues taking it all in before more words were uttered. "Courts..." Yes, that felt right. Courts - these were courts. She had court buildings here this was what Delphi had been. A place of law.

"Of course." She nodded knowingly to the notion of being busy. This war wasn't like a normal one.. they didn't get the luxury of dropping everything else to be in the trenches 24-7. They had lives to pretend to have. Lives they had to prepare for for when this war was finally over.
Polaris was thankful that Delphi had taken her hand. If she'd been angry still, or just not wanted to hold hands well... Polaris would have had to take the trip alone and try and track down wherever Delphi had landed. Not a great first impression. But luckily the squire had taken her hand, and as Delphi spoke the words, and began to put forth an effort to figure out just how to travel through space, the pressure of Polaris' hand had changed, a soft and encouraging squeeze of the other girl's hand.
It didn't take long, and the scene and temperature changed. By now Polaris was a pro at this, unjarred by the sudden difference. And as Delphi took a moment to take it in Polaris was busy wrapping a cloak around her shoulders, until she was encased in the fluffy white interior. The exterior a beautiful royal purple made of something that seemed reminscent of velvet. Only after that did she let her eyes wander taking in the truly grandious sight.
The buildings were beautiful, tall, filling the skies with their majesty and presence. The style was distinctly ancient, though the material seemed far more modern, and for a moment Polaris was happy that she hadn't shifted to her Princess form. Her metal sense here would have been downright deafening.
Though she had visited the mines before, a few other important buildings, for the most part Polaris hung towards the main city and the residential areas when she explored, never having ventured this far. It was interesting.. the different styles here or there. A piece of Rome here, Florentinian garden arrangements, Venus inspired furniture. It was likely because Polarian culture enjoyed the art and culture of other places so much, that depending on where you looked you could see it echo'd.. with their own special flair.
She was drawn from her admiration and awe of the beauty of the place when Delphi spoke, nodding to confirm what the other girl had said. Yes.. it had been a court. Even without an actual memory playing out before her Polaris could feel it, remember it somehow. "The people of Polaris believe in diplomacy over brute force when possible."
"It's beautiful." She added after a moment as well, offering a proud smile.

It was a mix and match of styles but somehow it seemed to work, perhaps the metal everywhere and the embossed areas and carved areas matched in style? Something managed to bind all the various styles and give them something in common so it wasn't such a clash in styles. It wasn't unpleasing when she looked it all over. The Greek influence was heavy but those two towers were different and she liked them - a lot.
She didn't remember it, remember anything aside from those uttered words, but she was sure her words had been right and she planned to come here often. The cold was there, nipping at her face, but she would deal with that if it meant seeing this place - something that wasn't to be found on Earth that was for sure.
"It is...where should we go first?" She asked looking around them. Had this place once had flowers? Trees or bushes? Had anything grown on these grounds? She certainly hoped so as it would add to the appearance of the area but what could grow in such snow and cold? Though things did grow in Russia they had seasons and she wasn't sure about here. "It's obvious they put a lot into diplomacy and law." Which would make sense if they dealt with a lot of other planets; it would be needed.
"I wonder how everything has survived inside..." She hoped things had survived, more to look at, perhaps she could find something - some small thing to bring home with her. Could they bring things home? "Can we bring things home with us?" If she saw a book...or a picture or something else. For some reason the need to know was eating at her and so she asked. But why? She doubted there would be anything she could use or want - this was a bunch of court buildings...and libraries...something told her there were libraries here; more than one. "Libraries also...Not just courts." She spoke looking to the other. She didn't remember but the idea had hit her.

If she knew that the other girl was thinking already about coming back Polaris would have been happy. Proud perhaps. Because while in the end it was Delphi's wonder, and she alone would have a special connection with it that Polaris never could, in a tiny way it belonged to the senshi too. A small piece of the star that she had been tasked with looking over. One small treasure that had made the past Polaris the wonderous place it'd been. It was neat, and Polaris suddenly had the great desire to see them all, to share this connection with all her knights.
"Mmm... is there anywhere you feel drawn to?"
"Really there is no rush and there is no wrong answer. Wherever you want to look is fine." Polaris was turning slowly, taking in the full panoramic view before she settled on the towers again.
"Ah.. umm." The mention of survival brought her back to reality, the senshi biting her bottom lip for a moment. "Hopefully things will have been preserved pretty well, Polaris doesn't seem to have been destroyed as badly as some places, but..." It had been a war.. And a place like this.. places of diplomacy and law, it was entirely possible it could have been a target when Chaos had attacked.
But she wanted to be optimistic, taking a few steps ahead of Delphi. "Let's go take a look. You're free to take things home with you if you'd like. This place is yours."
"Just be carefully if it's something too 'alien' that you put it someplace that noone stumbles across it." Sleet Tempest Snape Oh I had meant the whole star when I said mish mashed styles, sorry if I confused you! Delphi can look however you want, be it stylistically all Greecian, or some mixes and matches. ;3 Also yes! She would certainly be coming back, if not to explore than to spend time and find a nice quite place when she needed it. Her family, since they had all moved here from Russia, could get...loud and overbearing at times. She loved them, how could she not? But that didn't mean they didn't make her want to hide in her home, after taking the copy of her apartment key that each of them had, so they couldn't bother her. Her grandmother questioned why she wasn't dating and when would she settle down and marry, her grandfather tried to back her grandmother off by reminding his older wife that Winterlynn was going to college still. One of her aunts agreed with her grandmother while his uncle would talk to her about her classes and what she was learning, interested in learning through his niece. Her mother would just roll her eyes at her mother's questioning and Winterlynn's father would just join in with her and her uncle talking. It was a whole thing really, with her cousins rolling eyes, talking, and hiding from their own parents. Family gatherings were...interesting since they'd all moved from Russia.
"No...no where...but those towers...the libraries interest me." She spoke honestly. There was no pull but their style wasn't quite the same as the Grecian buildings around them, and which they framed. "Them first." She said nodding and heading that way moving to catch up to the eternal, heels sinking into the ground and treads gripping so she didn't slip. She was glad for the style of boots she had, the tread being useful on a planet like this. It also helped, a lot, on rainy or snowy and icy evenings back on Earth as well.
"Of course." Nodding her head, that last bit made sense of course. "I was just wondering if it was possible..." Since she was rather clueless in this area. She would learn though, she already was. She wanted to bring home something though; what though was the question? She figured it would answer itself while they explored. Iris_virus is_virus"](Oh, I know! But the buildings and those two towers are also a different style. Not sure what I want for a style of furniture inside though...that i gotta think about. Oh I will, I'll enjoy that a lot. But yeah, I did a quick read on Polaris and it's information. I can't wait, this is fun so far. ^__^)

"Sounds good to me." She agreed, smoothly changing her pace to match that of Delphi's and even let the other girl take a step or two to the lead if she wanted. The towers were what drew most of her interest as well. And a library? There certainly were a lot of books on Polaris, though that made sense in it's own way.
Tapping her free hand against her chest, and the clasp that held her cloak from falling off of her, she shared her own experiences. "I found this cloak on one of my early trips here. I'm pretty sure it was mine." She paused at that, having a sudden realization. "I suppose I should mention this before it surprises you."
"Some of us were directly reincarnated. Or rather.. when we come to our homeworlds you'll occasionally see like.. memories of the past. Scenes that play out in front of your eyes. And others, who were not, will sometimes run into.. I guess it's like a ghost of your ancestor. Someone who will talk to you and guide you. It's all very strange and jarring at first." She laughed sheepishly. "You may not see either but, on the off chance you do."
"I've also taken a note or two. But I've heard of people who have taken far more."
There was a little bit of a distance and a walk to the towers, and after a moment of silence Polaris spoke, tentatively slow. She didn't want to disturb Delphi if the squire was absorbed in what she was seeing. But.. it didn't seem like there was a better time for this conversation. "I'm.... really really sorry again that it took me this long to bring you here... It didn't have anything to do with you, I just got so sidetracked when I had to go out of state to deal with family issues."
Her eyes were cast outward at the scenery around them and the horizon in the far distance. "I'm really ashamed that I didn't think to at least call you and fill you in though. I'm not usually so irresponsible."

As she favored her right that was which way she headed. Delphi directed herself, and thus Polaris, to the right tower. It wasn't any sort of pull to that one in particular, it was a simple preference she had, as she was sure both were similar. It would make sense for the towers to hold similar things within them and so which she went to didn't matter to her - at least not now. She would explore them both and the other buildings in time. She would return and perhaps come with a duster and cleaning products...if she could bring them. "Can we bring things here? To clean..." it would surely be dust and in need of a good cleaning, maybe leave the windows open while she did so, due to fumes and a need to air things out.
"So I might get like..a flashback. Ok." That was interesting but not something she was opposed to, she was glad to know ahead of time or it would have surprised her. She couldn't imagine if someone had it happen to them and was clueless about it before hand. "If I do I'll let you know..." Unless it was something very personal. She had no issue in letting the other know. It was her planet also and it might concern her, or the her of the past and thus it was something she should know as well.
She had been surprised the other hadn't started to apologize till now, she'd been expecting it since she first met up with the princess in Destiny City. It was no surprise when it started and perhaps she should have snapped at her, to not apologize any more, or that she understood, or yes, the other should have called. But she did none of those things. She held up a hand and turned lavender eyes on the other. "It's fine. We are here now and we are both learning." As she was sure Polaris had not come here before so this was her first time as well.
"We can explore together and when you wish to come let me know and we will go together." There might be things for them both to learn, but she didn't want Polaris to come here on her own. There was just something...possessive within the Squire that had her not wanting people here without her present. This was the others planet but here...this was hers' and she wanted to have some control here. She would clean and dust if she could, perhaps bring flowers and other things as well. it wasn't a place she could live or call home but it was hers' and thus it was hers' to take care of and she fully intended to bring it up to par.
She would need to start bringing cleaning products here, if she could, and store them here until she had enough to clean everything. Perhaps she could get the fountain working somehow? She'd have to learn about pluming and see what the issue might be and if it was something she could fix. A likely idea, without knowing a thing really, was a pipe burst from the cold here. "You can bring along as much as you can carry." Polaris verified. "This includes another person or two and anything they can carry. As long as you're touching them." She continued on, explaining and bringing up whatever helpful information she could remember from her own early trips. "As you grow stronger the amount of people and things you'll be able to bring will grow, along with how often you can visit your wonder. As a squire..." She trailed off, trying to think and remember, her finger tapping her lip softly. "I believe it's around every other week that you can travel here. As a knight it should be more often then that."
"If, however, you ever need to come here and you don't have the power... call me. I can travel to Polaris at will. It might take a little time and walking, but I think I might be able to bring you here even if there is ever an emergancy or need." She had never attempted to reach the Wonder's of her knights on her own, never even really wondered if they'd accept her and allow her if she tried. They probably would.. being a princess. But Polaris felt no need to explore or poke around those special places. No... barring invitation, or if perhaps she someday felt a knight in grave danger she had no intentions of intruding on their wonders.
The mention of telling her if she saw a flashback brought a brief huff of air from Polaris, almost a laugh, before he faded into a mild shake of her head. "Some of them can be very startling." The visions she often saw when she had Niflhel in tow, were visions that she had to turn her eyes from for decency. "Some are very comforting though and eye opening. You can learn a lot about how things were back then. And what your responsibilities are even now."
When Delphi silenced her apologies, she simply nodded, leaning her shoulders forward in the hints of a tiny relenting bow. In truth she was relieved. Delphi was likely still upset at her, and perhaps would be for a long time, perhaps forever. But she was happy to not have to speak of her absence again, grateful even. If they could just explore and spend time together, well that was something. And Polaris was happy to try to be helpful now that they'd finally arrived.Sleet Tempest Snape Haaa, Bimini's getting ready to do the same thing. XD

"So whatever I can hold..." Oh, that left a lot open to her. She would certainly be bringing cleaning products then and set about building a supple of them. She might, if she could only come ever other week, start cleaning as she brought the products. She'd try the organic ones just to be kind to the untouched and uncontaminated environment here and see how they worked, she hoped they'd work well in cleaning things here. it was mostly metal, at least on the outside, so that shouldn't be too hard to clean. She hadn't a clue what they'd find inside though.
It would take time, just looking at the outside of this place told her that much, but she was looking forward to the time she'd spend here and the cleaning she could do. There was only so much cleaning she could do of her own apartment and aside from work and school there was patrolling but she could cut down on the time spent with her family, it wouldn't be that bad and she could tell them she was busy.
"I'll keep that in mind, it might come in handy and be needed." Who knows what would come with this war and she was starting to think about that. She had tried to think very little of it, even when she did power up, but this was bringing it home a bit, or rather a lot, to the russian girl and she was ready to start thinking properly. She might just need someone to bring her here if she had no way to get here on her own, due to traveling on her own too soon before the need arose. Yes, it might be a need.
"We can, if you'd like, see if you can teleport us here next time." She offered while reaching the steps to the tower and climbing the four short steps she pushed the double doors open and stepped inside. Inside there was no metal but wood. The floor was covered in holed and destroyed carpet with wood showing through, maybe that could be removed and the wood left for the floor? She was sure she couldn't carpet a floor and she couldn't exactly bring someone here to do it unless there was a knight or senshi who did such; which she highly doubted.
Tapping a foot she watched as the hallway curved to the right and left as the tower was rounded. Right in front of them however was another set of double doors, this time made of wood and decoratively carved.
Pushing the doors open and she stepped into the room. There was a path cleared which lead directly to a large fireplace made of stone. To either side of the fire place were ruined chairs and couches along with tables, both side tables and what would be considered a coffee table. Lining the way to the fireplace and obvious gathering area where high shelves of books. Books that filled the shelves and covered the floor and were coated in a thick layer of dust. Everything was covered in a layer or dust that was thick.
The second through seventh floor could only be reached by a set of grandiose stairs that let people get off at whatever floor they needed. The second through seventh floor only existed so much as they circled the perimeter of the core. Leaving the first floor mostly open air with a massive ceiling. The other floors had shelved of books and pressed to the banister that kept someone from falling, or walking, right off one of the higher floors were desks with chairs pushed in close to them. Well cushioned and wheeled they were high backed with arm rests, meant to be comfortable for people to spend hours in.
A chain hung from the ceiling but whatever hung from it, likely a form of light, seemed to be on the floor in pieces of metal and shattered...glass or crystal. A mess. This place needed work and some she wasn't sure if she could manage.Iris_virus I hope that all makes sense.::hide::

Had she known that Delphi was thinking about cleaning Polaris was have been both proud and amused. She herself had been quite laxed in her duties to the star, including but not limited to trying to clean the place up. But instead she simply explored while they walked, taking in all the sights as they made their way nearer and nearer, her boots crunching in the snow.
"Sure, we can give it a try." She mused to the suggestion. It certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a go, and it was smart to try it out and see how well it worked before it ever potentially became a necessity.
There was definite wear and destruction (both likely from Chaos and simply the passage of time) when they entered the building. However the beauty of the place was still quite apparent. The decor was intricate but also useful. And as they entered the library her eyes lifted upwards to the seemingly endless ceiling and the books that spiraled on the levels around it. Just breath taking.
Eyeing the mess of the light or chandelier Polaris stepped forward, her hand's extending in front of her. As she mumbled beneath her breath, the metallic pieces of the light (and any other tiny broken pieces of metal nearby) slowly began to shiver, before sliding together into a single pile. It wasn't nearly as violent as the 'attack' was back on Earth, the power from the star giving Polaris so much more control then she was used to. And though it didn't budge the crystals or glass, a broom would sadly be needed for that, the twisted bits of metal were gathered together for easier disposal.
