There was dirt everywhere.
Minny and her mother had spent the better part of the day knee deep in it, tending the garden and making sure that everything was spaced right to promote growth. This meant culling some of the smaller carrots to make room for the bigger growers, as well as digging up some pea plants that were then transplanted into their own little section of the garden. It was hard work, but Minny was happy she could help keep their garden green and growing. Soon she would be in middle school, and that meant more time with homework, and less time at home.
Minny striped off her muddy overalls and opted for basketball shorts that she wore in the summer in place of pajama pants. It was simply too warm for them. She hoped that her mother would forget about her bathtime; a hope that would soon be dashed by a knock at the door and a towel thrown in her face.
After her bath, Minny lay across her bed, feet dangling over the side. She held up above her the henshin pen that allowed her to become Sailor Ambrosia, and more recently, Super Sailor Ambrosia. It was still such a mystery, why she got picked, what she was meant to do...
And then Lenka brought up space a few months back.
"We can go to space." she asked the air, twirling the pen in her hands. This thing that used magic to make her a superhero could send her to the farthest reaches of the universe? Like in that Doctor Who show?
But how did it work?
She assumed that she needed to be powered up. How else would it know which planet to go to? She could end up in some random place, unable to gt home. The idea made her heart beat faster in her chest. Being trapped in space!
But what if her's was a star? Or a sun? Would she burn up!? Maybe it would protect her, but she really didn't want to chance it if it meant that she's become a crispy critter.
She stopped twirling the pen. Lenka didn't mention much. Only that she'd been to her planet, and it was really cool. But she didn't tell Ambrosia how she'd done it.
Maybe Julienne would know how. After all, she was a guardian cat, and they were supposed to know everything about being a senshi right? That's why they could power people up, give them the technology... She'd have to find the cat first though, and who knows where she went after their first encounter!
"Probably somewhere near fine dining." She said, remembering the cat's penchant for nice grub.
Oh her head was beginning to hurt. And staring at the bright yellow pen wasn't helping one bit. She let her arms drop to the bed, sighing. There was still so much she didn't understand about the world she was now a part of. And adding the entire universe didn't help to make it easier.
So many questions.
