It had been quite some time since Whisper left the mountain side temple. She came to visit with her mate and family on occasion. Tranquility wished she could visit more but knew that was a selfish thought. She had always been content with caring for the temple but now she had a longing. Maramu had been spending a lot of time with her at the temple, helping her care for her. Probably more time with her then away. The sleepy stallion was so wonderful. He was so great with Whisper as they raised her together. The young mare had been hoping that things between her and Maramu would start to move forward however he hadn't brought things up. She considered that the stallion might not be interested in her that sense, but they were affectionate.
Speaking of Maramu, the mare looked over her shoulder, her crystal blue eyes glanced around spotting the stallion snoozing in the shade of a tree. His poofy blond mane billowed out and the gentle breeze tugged at the hairs. This had to be what love felt like. The summer sun beamed down and warmed her pelt as she walked toward him. Her bell jingled lightly as it dragged over the stone work the two leggers laid down. Her ears leaned forward as she listened to his soft breathing sounds. She always felt bad waking him but it was time to go and gather water from the grove.
She leaned forward and pressed her nose softly against his near and gave him a light nudge. "Hey Maramu?" She spoke softly hoping that he would wake easily enough. What she wanted to do was lie with him and nap but she had responsibilities. But when Maramu didn't wake right away she decided not to keep trying. She always carried the water from the grove herself so she should still be able to handle it. She smiled down at him and she went to gather one of the buckets.

Peace.
That is all the stallion could perceive in this moment; complete and utter peace. The weather warmed and eased his tired joints in a way that a night slumber never could. With the sun dappling between the leaves of the tree above him, combined with the soft mountain breeze, Maramu found himself hard pressed to leave the comforts of sleep. However, there were comforts in the waking world that could not be replaced in dreams.
Chimes seemed to be one of those comforts. No matter how well Maramu cherished and remembered the sound, it was near impossible for him to hear them in his dreams. The pitch would always be off, a sort of whimsical copy of the original sound, and the echo not nearly as enchanting as the authentic. So...how is it that he could hear the precious sound of chimes now? He glanced left and right, seeing nothing but the fog of sleep surrounding him. It was distressing enough that his brow began to furrow, until suddenly he heard his name. It was faint, barely a whisper, but it was there.
Blue eyes peeled open as a shadow glimpsed across his vision, and Maramu winced to regain his bearings.

As she started to turn away she could hear the change in Maramu's breathing. She stopped and turned to look back and she saw that Maramu had started to awaken. She couldn't help as a small smile graced her lips. She was starting to wonder if he was waken easier these days because of her? But that might be just her wishful thinking.
She went and fetched her bucket, to give him some time to gain his bearings. When she came back she leaned forward slowly and touched her nose to his. "Hey there sleepy head..." She sill spoke softly. "I was going to go up to the grove to get some water. Did you want to come with me?" Her bangs slid forward and had to toss her head to the side to push her hair from her eyes. Her eyes watched his, she loved looking into his eyes. She really hoped that he would go with her. The more she had been thinking about him the more she wanted to say something... And today would be that day... And the grove would be the perfect spot.
