The water had been nice for a change. Rain had brought in enough to drop the heat down a few degrees resulting in everyone suddenly wanting to be outside!
Imara was no exception though she would have liked those people to know she was out there even in the worst of the heat. The young woman could only be in doors for so long before cabin fever set in. No one in her family wanted to go through that again.
So today found Imara down at one of the parks in the open field going through soccer drills. Even though she no longer played (adult teams were hard to find), it was still a great way to stay in shape without having to find someone willing to be the target for your arrows.
Back and forth between cones she went. Her feet moved with the ball as if it was attached. She was good. At least as good as a person can be until their foot catches and they stumble. As she shifted to catch her balance, her leg came around and smack....into the wall and sent it flying. Eyes looked up and Imara managed to get out "Heads Up!"

Ryan was no different from anyone else, enjoying the nice weather only his exercise was more mandatory and he was out everyday running. He was on his usually run from his house, through the park then to do an errand or two, which sometimes included bugging Alex just to be an a**.
He had his head phone in his ears, phone strapped to his arm, so the warning yelled at him was barely heard and he got a side full of soccer ball which stopped him and his tracks and made him frown immensely.
He looked down at the ball and shook his head before kicking it up with his foot and bouncing it from knee to knee. He didn't even noticed who the ball belonged to, but he was sure whoever would ask for it back, so he scanned the area pulling an earbud from his ear so he hear.
After a moment he dropped the ball to the ground and in front of him and sort of just grinned a bit, feeling proud that he still had it. Not that he much cared for soccer since people were constantly bumping him, but one on one was always fun.

Following the projectile as he flew away from her, Imara quickly locked on and realized where it was going to land. "Watch out!" She tried to scream again, stopping only a moment to wince as the ball made impact.
When she looked back, she was pleased to see he was still standing. A wash of relief went over her shoulders and she continued on to reclaim her ball.
Her speed then slowed the more she watched him. First off, she realized why he had not ducked: headphones. Typical. Second, his form was really pretty good. Very good honestly. That was not his first time handling a soccer ball. Was it possible the ball had a tracking device for 'people who know how to play soccer'?
Finally coming in at a slow jog, Imara caught his eye. "Hey man. Sorry about that. Ball got away from me. It didn't get you too hard did it?" She breathed hard for a moment before stopping to take a long, slow inhale. "You play? That was some pretty good foot work."

Ryan look up as a girl approached him and gave her a grin. "I guess I'm a bit of a jock. Ive done a bit of everything, even soccer for a while, but its not really my thing. I mostly do triathlons now."
He kicked the ball over to her, "We're you practicing, honestly I'd suggest a little further into the park least your ball gets away from you. What if I had of been on of those stroller moms or something."
He wrapped his earbuds around his neck, but didn't bother to turn his music down or off. Currently some upbeat techno perfect for running was coming out of them, "Ever play a little one on one."

"Where's the fun in practicing control if you can't scare those mothers every now and then." Imara responded as she stopped the ball with her foot only to bounce it up onto her knee before catching it. [colo=teal]"Moving targets if you will."
But one look at the grin on her face said she was teasing, not to mention enjoying what she heard of the music.
At his challenge though, that grin sharped at the edges. "A little one on one? Think you can keep up?" She asked, dropping the ball onto her knee before letting it fall and putting her foot atop it.

Ryan raised an eyebrow and a moment later he found himself chuckling and shaking his head. That was an amusing though, though it was a thought that would likely get the girl in trouble. "Well, maybe you should keep that between us, eh?"
He grinned at her clear challenge, a game of one on one was going to be what the rest of his workout consisted of and he wasn't at all against that. It was still running and it was more fun than running alone.
He made to kick the ball from atop her foot ready to chase after it. "I think I can keep up just fine, but can you?"
