Polite Society believes in enjoying life to it's fullest. As a group they believe these things should be celebrated with understated style. Not the flash and bang that others may prefer. Just as the Acha of the desert handle drama with social snubbing and backstabbing- So does Polite Society.

Society Territory.
The part of the swamp that Polite Society calls home is a floral paradise. Carefully cultivated flowers bloom around the bases of, and between, multiple trees. This creates fragrant pathways and obvious meeting places; as well as some more private areas that are not as obvious.
There are three important areas of note: On the South end of the territory an ancient Plane Tree grows. It's branches hang low and the monstrous trunk is hollowed out in several spaces. This acts as a place to store tribe supplies & food as well as a way to sleep and meet during the rainy seasons.
To the North a hill rises above the rest of the territory and a lone pear tree grows. It too is old, large enough to create a delightful canopy and shield from the midday sun. It’s flowers and leaves are sweet treats in the Spring and it’s fruit is decadent.
Directly next to Pear Flower’s Rise on the right is a large pond with a rich ecosystem. It is the source of water for the tribe and a place to swim on the hottest of days.

It is not required that Society members live within the territory of the tribe. This is merely a place to throw grand parties, have quiet lunch with friends, and occasionally meet to vote on tribe leadership and policies.

Politics and social climbing within Polite Society is an “incredibly complicated ‘game’ or ‘dance’ of intrigue, seduction, ambition and scandal, an approach to politics, high culture and morality”. Status and appearance in the tribe are held above all else; second only to the three characteristics applauded in the tribe Motto. Even then those are still just weapons to the players that would wield them.
The most skilled players of The Game know that to be overt is to get caught. Being caught in The Game is grounds for extreme mockery, social snubbing, and in the worst cases- Exile.
It is not necessary, however, to play. Those who wish to conscientiously stay out of The Game will not be punished or looked down upon. They may even win favor and title still. It all depends on the whim of the group.
Pear Flower : Founder & Current Head Finding her brother after a very long time apart has rekindled her love of grand events and playing The Game. Starting Polite Society with him seemed natural. Peach Blossom : Founder & Current Second-in-Command Refuses to talk about where he was or what he was doing the whole time Pear Flower has been in the Swamp. It was his idea that Pear take the lead as Head instead of himself.

All kin are considered regardless of breed or current tribe affiliation, but some will be turned down based on:
Unwillingness to live by the Motto. Currently being affiliated with a tribe that does not allow its members to join other groups.
Those who have a willingness to live by the Motto but not the skill or delicate nature to do so may still join but will be placed within a probationary mentorship program. You can find more information in the post below.

Those attending the mentorship program, Finishing School, will be met by fully-fledged members of Polite Society to be trained in how to be a proper gentledoe or gentlebuck. This could take weeks or months, but the average amount of time is one month(in world) before graduating to Full Member.
Requirements:
3 finished RPs of your kin being mentored by a full member; preferably this will be with three different kin 1 solo of your kin reflecting on what they’ve learned 1 private meeting with Pear Flower & Peach Blossom What constitutes a finished RP is between you and your RP partner. If there is a conclusive end and both parties are happy with it then it counts.
Once the requirements have been met copy+paste the form below into the tribe thread and your kin's information on the roster will be updated.

Voting & Bi-Annual Leadership Change
Every Spring & Fall Equinox the tribe gets together for more serious business: The voting of their new Head, Second-in-Command, Historian, Treasurer, and Events Planner. The whole tribe will get together for a feast during which time the candidates will state their cases and hope to cash in on favors owed them. The voting members will listen and choose to vote fairly, honor previous agreements or bribes, or even completely betray those that trusted them. At the end of the feast each member will privately meet with Pear Flower and Peach Blossom to cast their vote. The votes will be tallied and the new officials announced.

How this will work OOCly is thus:
A large ORP will be started here in the tribe thread. All members of the tribe will be quoted as invitation to the feast. Everyone will RP the various pleas for support and reactions. After about 24-48 hours I will make an in-thread announcement that voting is to begin. At that time all voting members will have 24 hours to PM LOLLl qAq with a quick IC vote. The votes will be tallied and Pear Flower will announce the choices in the ORP.
All of this is to be kept In Character. Please- Respect the rules and do not turn this into an out of character power struggle.
Members, Finishing School members, and Outside Forces all are encouraged to plot & RP with Polite Society. Personal RP should be kept to the Roleplaying sub-forum, but casual RP taking place within tribe territory is welcome. All official tribe-wide plotting and plot proposals should be posted in the OOC tribe plotting thread. NOT here. You can find the OOC tribe plot thread here.
