The border outpost consists of a series of observation towers that run along the border of the land of lightning and the land of frost. These towers communicate with each other via messenger hawk and give regular reports to the Raikage though the same means.

Racing thought the trees Nari easily maneuvered from limb to limb even having a bit of fun throwing a flip or a spin in here and there. Calling to his team behind him he decided to make this part of their training,"Trust your instincts and let your body react. Dont think about what tree branch your jumping to just let go and do it." As he finished speaking he hooked a tree limb and used angular momentum to toss himself up higher into the canopy. Once he was higher up he actually started paying attention to the environment around him checking for signs of intrusion.

Serah jumped from tree to tree, her hair flowing as she leapt and bound. She had never really done this outside of the village so it was actually quite nice to her. She tried to imitate some of the movements that Nariomi had done before her but it wasn’t really working out for her. “I don’t think I could do any of what you did,” Serah said through her radio. It was kind of difficult trying to keep up, so she decided to make the most of it and get some training in while she scouted for any abnormalities.
[1/4] Serah continued to jump through the trees, trying to keep her precision with her jumps sharp and to the point. She didn’t want to spend too much time on any one branch since it seemed like it could be a vulnerability out here in the unprotected territory close to home. Agility [1/5]
As she continued jumping, she tried to pick up her speed, doing her best to keep up with her new teacher who was definitely a lot faster than her. It almost made her realize that she couldn’t really do much of anything in a speed fight, especially if it were to be against someone as fast as Nariomi. Speed [1/5]

[☬] Watching the two of them as Nar started to get a little further ahead, but that seemed to be expected seeing as how he had more training that the two of them. Nagato then watched as Serah tried to imitate him that got Nagato to wondering, did she like admire Nari? He was curious but he didn't pry, though he could only assume as much seeing as how she was a girl and nari was an older male. Gah! Did she like older guys? Nagato just shook his head trying to get the image out of his mind before watching as Nari shot himself up higher into the trees to get a better look through the area. Nagato just glanced from side to side his eyes narrowing while his slits just grew closer as he stared intently. "I haven't seen anything yet, what about you guys?" He asked them his hand returning down to his side after touching the communications button along the head set. While he was moving behind Serah he noticed that she was trying to keep up with him and began to leave him behind, Nagato quickly tried to catch up with both of them.
Hearing Serah over his headset brought a chuckle from Nari as he continued scanning the area. After a second he pressed the key for his mic,"I wouldnt expect you to Serah. At the moment at least, later on when you have some experience you'll be just as fast and agile. " Kicking off of a branch he tucked mid leap to alter his course before getting back onto the same level as the rest of the team. Upon hearing Nagato he keyed up again,"No not yet. Keep your eyes peeled for broken branches, downed trees, and things like that. Most of the time when people are moving quickly they dont remember to check that sort of thing so they end up leaving a trail without even thinking about it." [2/4] Releasing his key he slowed down a bit after realizing he had gained a fair lead on the team. Once they had caught back up and were within earshot he began,"So sharing time and your up first Serah. Tell us about yourself." His question served dual purpose, first to see if she could think, communicate, and dodge tree limbs all at the same time thust putting her multitasking abilities to the test, and two to get to know his team better. Serah looked around her attempting to find anything out of the ordinary but nothing seemed to be coming up and quite honestly, she wanted to keep it that way. She didn’t like the idea of being attacked in such an uncomfortable location. Her ideal fight was in open fields. In response to Nagato’s questions though Serah spoke back in her radio, “N-Nope I haven’t seen anything yet!” Serah remained on the lower branches, not wanting to get too high and come crashing down if she had a moment of stupidity. After jumping around for a bit and getting more comfortable with the idea of jumping from branch to branch while being observant, Serah decided to indulge the teacher in his wish to know more about her backstory. “Ah um, you know…” Serah found it kind of difficult to talk at the same time as jump around. “I was born here, raised here. M-My life really isn’t that interesting.” Serah sighed, deciding to add in a bit more, even if she was finding it really difficult to keep on balance while speaking about herself. “R-Raised by my um, mom. Just living and it’s fun, totally. So um, yeah she was bukijutsu user kind of. She used a spear and um, um, she never joined the shinobi force. Sh-She didn’t believe in it. W-We didn’t see eye to eye.” Serah nervously spoke about herself, unamused with how uncomfortable she was right about now. Opening up wasn’t difficult for her, but she didn’t like having to do it while she was tyring to do a million other things at once. “Wh-What about you Nagato? Y-You have fair skin t-tell us about yourself.” Serah wavered with every word. She definitely had a lot of training to do before she was skilled enough to keep herself balanced like it was second nature. ‘Why is this not easier. I’ve seen shinobi do this before so I know it can be done.’ Exhaling, she focued back on the task at hand, looking for snapped branches or anything that could signify they weren’t alone. [☬] Jumping between the branches Nagato was sort of having an easier time that Serah seemed to, but that might have been because of his clan innate ability to be more flexible than most. Jumping and dodging over a couple of low hanging branches he listened to Nari as he came back over communications. First speaking to Serah as they spoke about being able to move like him soon. Nagato indeed wanted to get stronger and grow so this was what he'd been waiting for. Then he addressed Nagato a small nod came from him even though Nari probably couldn't see him though it didn't take long for him to reappear before them. Nagato was impressed that was for sure. Though not trying to get distracted he glanced around the area so far nothing seemed out of the ordinary for him but then again he'd probably only been out of the village once or twice and that was for academy training.
As Serah was speaking Nagato still followed behind closely he was keeping up with them for the most part though there were times where Nari would get ahead of them and end up waiting on them or at least slowing down. Continuing to jump between, through and over branches as they continued to survey the area around them Nagato thought about what he might say due to this sharing time. Would they treat him like the others had at the academy? Would they be afraid of his eyes and fangs?
When Nari spoke to him Nagato hesitated at first his finger laid on the communications button before pressing it down. "My name is Nagato Yuu, and I'm not sure where I'm from. I was found by..." He paused for a moment thinking back to what the old woman had told him when he was younger. "...I was found by the current Raikage as a child. When I became a little older she found a home for me here in the village. An I'm...nevermind that's about it." He spoke not really mentioning the information that the kage had shared with him when he was younger and hanging around her and the couple that would eventually put him up in there home. "What about you Nari?" He asked after letting them into his life a little bit, though it seemed that Serah had a harder time than he had, which was very surprising to him.

Nari had to admit, as he listened to Serah try and talk and not fall, that a small part of him wished he had grown up like her. Though he made a mental note to talk to Nagato later on about being found by the Raikage. While he didnt know the woman all that well himself he still put great trust and faith into her. Though when he was asked he sighed and twisted the key on his mic so that it would stay on as he began. "As you know I am from the once mighty Senju clan. I was born outside of Kumogakure in a small village to the east of here. During the wars it was generally used as a pathway for the nations invading and the area saw lots of conflict. My first time in battle was actually at the age of eleven. When the city wasnt a warzone I was fighting in the underground arenas as a pit fighter." Catching a branch he again shot himself up into the upper levels as he continued on. [4/4][mission complete] "It was during one of the conflicts where I met a handful of shinobi from Kumogakure and ended up joining the village. I graduated early from the academy and instead of gaining my rank in the exams I gained it on the field of battle. Its because of that very reason that I try so hard to make sure you both are ready for the shinobi world. When I became a team leader I swore that I would never allow a fellow shinobi to die on my watch, Ive seen enough blood." Twisting his mic he was silent for a time before keying again,"Do you guys have any dreams or goals as shinobi? Its important to have goals." Goals provided something to strive for, something to center ones resolve around and to use as a driving force when all else failed. [1/4]

Serah had found Nagato’s life rather interesting, only because he was raised by the current Raikage, that’s something she’d never known about, but then again, she lived outside on the outskirts of the village most of her life. ‘Wow my life is boring in comparison. Oh well…’ Serah turned her attention back to the more pressing matters at hand, such as how she was going to get Nariomi and Nagato realize they were made for each other. Sure they didn’t seem like they had much of a connection upon further evaluation, but there was something deep inside Serah that just told her. Maybe, just maybe there was a burning passion that just needed to have a spark to reignite into a monstrous burning flame that would devour them and send them into an endless spiral of love and passion! ‘Ahh, I need to get them to realize they were made for each other! How can two people who have long hair and seem so perfect not be together!?’ Silently, Serah placed her hand to her heart and vowed to herself to make it happen. ‘Yes! They will have a happy ending! I’m sure of it!’ Serah looked up to find that she was moving with a lot more ease than before. ‘Maybe the power of their love was what I was missing! I didn’t believe in them being together so I had a hard time maneuvering, but if I just believe, then everything is so much easier!’ Serah quickly realized that in order to move elegantly and easily she needed to believe in the strength of the boy-on-boy love that was so graciously surrounding her. Serah smiled at Nagato and then turned to smile at Naromi, entranced by the idea of them having a little one-on-one action later. ‘Th-The passion… Ah, it’s the most beautiful thing!’ Serah allowed an excited glee to escape her lips, to which she quickly covered up.
Luckily, Serah heard Nariomi ask about dreams and goals, which is great because most of his life story she kind of tuned out while thinking about the passionate romance brewing here. “Ahhh, my dream is to just see love happen all around me and to make everyone in the world be safe! I want to be a secretary to the Raikage. The idea of being the Raikage myself is a bit too much for meeee.” Serah sighed, thinking more about what could happen between the two before her. “It is important to have goals, I agree!” Serah smiled and playfully turned to Nagato and winked, hoping that he would get the signal to talk to Nariomi. “N-Nagato, what are your goals? Y-You can be completely honest with us, w-we’re all friends.” Serah’s face flushed red. This was it. This was when he was going to announce his love for Nariomi and they would stop dead in their tracks and make out passionately.

[☬] Listening to Nari as he spoke to them telling him a bit about what happened during his life he wondered just how old he was, because he spoke as if he was much older than them. All this jumping and running through the trees made nagato feel more confident in his ability to talk and gain a good foot hold of his surroundings as he moved. But while Nari talked Nagato wanted to know more about these pit fighters, did they use Ninjutsu or was it just a fight with fist.

As Nari mentioned that he had gained his rank through battle and not the exams he wondered if that was possible now? Nagato knew that the exams were important and that they helped determine a shinobis place amongst the village but did they hand out exceptions? Serah then began to explain her goals and plans for the future she seemingly had everything planned out. She wanted to see love and peace around her and that she wanted to help out the Raikage. Nagato again began jumping over Branches and diving forward to dodge lower branches. As she began to ask him about his goals he noticed she was stuttering. "Are you ok Serah?" He asked her, twisting the knob on his headset as well to continuously talk. "An for me...I don't know what I want to do." Well that was sort of a lie. "I guess I want to get stronger as a ninja." He thought more on it cause to be honest he never really had. All the while he continued to glance around him looking for something that didn't seem right. "I'd like to protect the place that gave me a chance, even if others didn't at first." He said smiling though part of it hurt remembering the academy.
Well it seemed Serah had her whole future planned in a nice neat little package, though he wondered if she would be able to accept the reality of what it meant to be a shinobi. Again dropping low he slowed down as they approached the clearing around the tower,"Were coming up on the tower." Upon hearing Nagato though he couldnt resist he pushed the key on his mic,"Watashi wa sorera o hogo shimasu. It means I will protect. Many good shinobi have given their lives for the sake of protecting others. It is among the purest and most honorable deaths a person can ask for." Leaping from the trees he landed in the clearing and turned to face the forest where he waited for them. Once they landed he released the mic and spoke,"I want you to remember this, both of you. A very wise woman once told me that the worth of a shinobi is not judged in his actions during his life. But in the manner in which he gives his life. That being said every person in this world has a cause he would gladly give his life for. Just make sure your cause is worth giving it for." Turning on his heel he crossed the clearing and approached one of the anbu that jumped down,"The south road is clear, no threats detected. Please inform the Raikage that were leaving the county now. I expect we will return within the week or so." The anbu nodded and dissappeared. Turning back to his team he nodded,"Rest, recover. I dont expect that was easy on your bodies."

‘Y-Yes. Oh god! H-He wants to get stronger to protect things he holds dear and by things he holds dear he means the person he loves and by person he loves he mean Nariomi!’ Short, hot breaths came from Serah’s nose as she thought about the cute little things they could do together in the future. In response to Nagato’s concern for her well-being Serah nodded. “Yeah I’m fine, Don’t worry about me. To make you feel better I’ll help you protect those things you hold dear.” Serah turned her head in an attempt to give Nagato the most meaningful gaze she could ever give anyone. She just wanted him to know that she would protect their boy-on-boy love with her life.
Turning her attention back to the mundane task at hand, Serah looked around, bored by the repetitive scenery. There was nothing out of the ordinary except for the sexual tension that could be cut with a knife, but Serah was never the kind of person to play cupid. Instead, she decided to just let things play out on their own since it was so much more fun to sit in the background and watch rather than get involved. ‘Leaf, branch, grass, rabbit… Everything is just as it should be. I was so ready to fight, but maybe it’s a good thing we’re not fighting, I don’t know how I could help to keep them both safe.’
Listening to Nariomi’s words was so romantic, in a weird ‘I wish someone could talk deep like that to me’ kind of way. She knew that he was mainly talking to Nagato, but Serah didn’t want to let him know she was on to the two of them so she kind of over-compensated, “That was beautiful sir! I’ll remember that.” Serah slowed to a halt at the edge of the borderlands along with their sensei and bowed courteously. Nariomi saying that they should rest was like music to Serah’s ears. ‘Th-This is it, oh my god.’ With a crack in her voice, Serah spoke, “H-Hey, I’m gonna uh, you know, rest a little bit away from you two so you uh, get some rest you guys.” Serah sprinted towards some shrubbery and turned back to the two men, “I’m gonna go further into here, call me on the radio if you need me because I’ll be out of ear shot so if you yell I won’t be able to hear you.” Serah walked into the bushes and immediately crouched down, peering at the two of them from her position, well hidden in the natural camouflage around her. ‘Oh sweet mother of all things holy, this is so worth getting out of the village.’

[☬] Nari spoke to them or at least to Nagato as he mentioned the saying to him. In his mind he ran it back through his head thinking as Nari began to explain what it meant and what it meant from a person close to him to be a shinobi. 'Watashi was sorera o hogo shimasu' Did Nagato want to die protecting the village? It was probably something that he would need to think about while he was still making choices in his life, or at least for now. "South road clear, no threats." He repeated back into the mic after Nari had to confirm the status of their current mission. He now just watched as the Anbu turned from them disappearing back into the forest, Nagato didn't know they'd be gone that long but it was several days journey to Sunagakure.
Looking at Serah when she gave him this weird look Nagato raised his brow maybe she was so inspired by Nari she had to hide her face from him. After all if she was into older men and she was on this mission with nari then she'd probably try and get some time alone with him, and well Nagato not really having any of those feelings just sort of would let it happened without interruption. Yes that would be the best course of action. She then started to walk off and then sprint telling them that she was going to go out of ear shot so they could rest together, she probably wanted to wait till they were both out to touch Nari sensei. 'What a perv.' Nagato thought. She then disappeared into the bushes Nagato looked back at Nari and stared for a moment before turning around and moving to the trunk of a tree, seating himself before speaking towards him. "She's weird..."

Serah quietly looked at the two men, one sitting down now, it was just too much for her to take. Here she was, just a girl in this shinobi world trying to find the boy-on-boy love she so desperately desired. ‘They’re so true to each other. So pure.’ Serah allowed her mind to roam off into a calm and tranquil place. She imagined the passionate love making the two could perform with each other, teaching each other their ways and how they’ve grown up through physical contact alone. It was something she wished she could watch. As she sat there, meditating on this, she inhaled and exhaled, her eyes growing heavy as she entered a deeper trance. The further she got into this state of passion and desire, the more her chakra seemed to boil within her, almost as though she were tapping into a reserve that she never knew about. ‘Th-This chakra. I-I’ll use it to keep them safe from harm so that they can continue their passionate affair!’

[☬] Nagato was resting at the base of the tree while Naari was just standing around and scouting he assumed. Taking this time he slowly stood up and walked towards the edge of the woods that they had been traveling at. Right in front of the bushes. It was there that he stood his back towards Nari and he just stared out into the woods, in taking a deep breathe he relaxed himself while he began to focus the chakra within his body. He could feel it running through his body and coursing through him. Slowly opened his eyes he stared back out into the woods before taking a glance back at Nari. 'Well she went off, hope they won't mind if I go do some training.' He thought to himself. With that he walked forward but he didn't get far as he traveled through the bush before tripping over a lump within the bush and falling over. "What! Ack."
