Class activities: Please pick the activity that pertains to your characters stage and fill it in by the end date! Thank you! Starts: NOW Ends: November 30th, 11:00PM PST JUNIOR:Time Management Skills "Alright, alright. I know I'm not gonna win much in the way of brownie points with this particular subject, but it was the next on the curriculum -- so don't hate the player, hate the game!" Talfia took in a deep breath. She had finally landed a proper teaching job, and it wasn't teaching a subject she had a degree in, but at least it was a job, and at least it was teaching kids like she always wanted to do. Yet despite her passion, she was so nervous the kids would dislike her. Even so, she pressed on.
"This week we're going to be focusing on time management skills. Oooo, exciting. NOT. But, it is important, you guys. We'll only be spending a week on this. That being said, I don't want you thinking just because it's a short subject that it isn't just as vital as the rest. I know this class seems like a joke, but it really will help you out if you let it. Now ... !" Talfia put her hands on her hips, swinging her tail back and forth as she stepped out front and center.
"... we'll be doing the jar assignment! Each of you will be given a glass jar with various objects to put in it; rocks, marbles, plastic figures, etc. You'll have half an hour to organize and place all the objects in to the jar. I will give you a hint; start with the rocks first. From there, you'll need to use common sense and time management to try and figure out how the rest of the items will fit in."
Talfia scooped up a bunch of the jars sitting on her desk, then turned to start handing them out to each of her new students. "The jar is a metaphor for your time, and the items that go inside it are all your responsibilities. Any extra space will be your leisure time. The more extra space you manage to create within your jar, the higher your mark will be. Pretty straight forward, right? Good. Now get to it, and I'll let you know when half an hour is up!" Rules:1. Roll a 100 sided dye. Check below for what your number means! 2. Quote Ember-babe when you make a post. 3. Provide a short RP response to your roll. Score System: 1-10 means you are spilling over and can't get the items to fit properly. You're overwhelmed by your responsibilities. You're allowed to stay after class and try again. You may roll once more time. Make sure to quote Ember-babe each time you roll (you don't need to wait for her response!). 11-20 means you just barely made it fit - any regular person would be stressed beyond belied. You're allowed to stay after class and try again. You may roll one more time. Make sure to quote Ember-babe each time you roll (you don't need to wait for her response!). 21-40 means you barely have any free time, and have to spend your leisure time wisely. You pass, but just by the seat of your pants. 41-60 means you have a decent amount of free time left, but you could have optimized the space in your jar. 61-89 means you have quite a bit of free time. Good job! 90+ means you have the most free time! Everything fits perfectly in to the jar, and there's more than half the jar left empty. You aced it! SENIOR: Stress Management "What? Really? Ugh. Another one of these boring subjects? Yuck. Alright, well. I guess it is useful. ALRIGHT GUYS, LISTEN UP!" Talfia's voice boomed. "It's time to learn about streeeeess manaaagemeeent!" Talfia flared her hands out, wiggling clawed jazz hands at the Seniors in her class. They seemed just as thrilled as she did about the class.
"I know it sounds triple dog damn dull, but it actually is a really useful tool to have. Managing your stress is gonna be really essential if you wanna make it through post-secondary, or even in the workplace if you choose not to go on to college or university. So what we're gonna do is practice some breathing exercises. So everybody get up, and let's friggin' breaaaaaaaaaaathe!"
Rules:1. Roll 1 100-sided die. The higher the number the easier you were able to let go of your stresses. 2. Write a short RP response that you came to class and how your Nightmare handled letting go of their stresses.

Vaden stared at the stained piece of fabric before him. He had to admit he...definitely had never attempted to use a cleaning spell before. Other types of spells yes, but never one for this purpose.
He sighed and picked up the paper with the instructions on it and carefully read them to himself.
1. Shake the bottle vigorously to activate the spell components. 2. Twist the nuzzle on the bottle to the desired spray radius. 3. Depending upon the penetration of the stain apply the necessary amount of squirts. (see side panel of bottle) 4. Wait 5 minutes then wipe away with a clean towel.
Seemed easy enough. He looked on the side of the bottle for the number of sprays, shook the bottle, opened the nuzzle and gave it a try.======= After waiting the required amount of time Vaden took the clean towel from his desk and wiped at the stain. Well...it was...faded a bit...He frowned. Had he done this right? Oh well, it was close enough for him.

Oh boy. Cleaning spells. He'd tried them before, after making a terrible mess of some glitter- that was a terrible experience. The spell backfired and he just ended up dusting the entire room with the stuff. He's not even sure he's gotten rid of the stuff yet, and that was a few weeks prior.
With sigh he stared at the sponge he'd been given... Instructions
Dampen sponge to activate spell components. Using moderate pressure, scrub the item in one full circle. Wait five minutes. Stains inside the circle should disappear. Especially troublesome stains may require an additional circle.
Well. Seemed simple enough. He got up to go dampen the sponge, then returned and sat down. He then picked up his swatch of stained material, and attempted a wobbly circle around the stains in question, then sat back and watched...
--------
He frowned. Surely it had been five minutes... He looked up at the clock on the wall, then sighed in annoyance. Had the sponge gotten too wet? The stains hadn't budged at all! He'd just have to try again...

Well, after that failure he decided to try the spray bottle. After reading the instructions, he shook the bottle for a few seconds before spraying it on the material. Perhaps the sponge had failed because he'd used too much water... Once satisfied with the amount of liquid on the material, he set the bottle down and waited.
---
After the five minutes passed, he squinted a little at the fabric... the stains seemed faded, at least? Not wanting to risk another failure in class, he decided it was good enough for now. He'd just practice after hours or something.

This was an important lesson for Sorren. She was always getting paint everywhere. Looking down at the marble that was in front of her Sorren smiled. It didn't seem like it would be too hard, and maybe he would let her keep the marble after to help with her dorm room.
After reading the instructions she did as he did and placed the marble on the stain. At first nothing happened, but then the stain started to fade slightly! She sat there excitedly waiting for it to disappear, but sadly it could still be seen. It wasn't bright or anything, but it was still there. Sorren shrugged. Maybe she should just be more careful about the messes she made.

Frowning slightly as she listened to the teacher's explanations, Coralie sighed as a stained bit of cloth and marble were set in front of her. Judging by the smell, she'd be dealing with a wine stain. Still, as long as she did what the marble's instructions stated, she couldn't go wrong! Brightening up slightly, she unrolled the scrap of paper and read it through a few times.
Instructions: 1. Place Cleaning Marble upon stain 2. Hold hand flat about 2 inches above marble 3. Pull hand away and snap fingers
Well, it certainly seemed simple enough. Placing the scrap of cloth flat on her desk, she carefully placed the marble in the center of the stain. Then, doing as her paper said, she held her hand over the marble and quickly pulled it away, snapping her fingers. To her delight, the marble seemed to glow for a moment before sucking the stain from the cloth completely. Cleaning spells were awesome!

Quentin took a seat, looking around at his peers. Life skills, should be useful. As the teacher went on about what the class was about, the little goat boy doodled in his notebook. His ears perked when he heard cleaning, unaware that cleaning would be a part of this glass. He groaned a bit as they discussed it further, wishing they could just cook.

Cleaning? Cooking? Balancing checkbooks? Zalir was well out of zeir depth, and it was only nine in the morning. Stifling a sigh, zey pulled out a notebook and prepared to take notes, even if the idea of taking a notes on--ugh--cleaning rankled. It was a class, and it needed to be passed. So zey was going to pass this class.
Even if, within seconds, zeir notebook was covered with doodles and sketches. Zey drew flowcharts, labeled carefully with chemical reactions. It was the subject of the week, and tucked into a middle row, Zalir was confident that zeir professor would not see zem goofing off.

Okay then... at least the teacher understood that they didn't want to be here. No big deal, at least he understood where they were all coming from. Cleaning though was probably the least exciting thing to start with. Cooking would of been more fun, or even sewing. Instead it was cleaning, and now he and all the other juniors were stuck with it.

Meat: Fish, Dessert Flavor: Chocolate

For a moment, Ashlynn found herself wishing she'd skipped this class. Cook a simple meal? How on earth was fish simple? And a chocolate dessert? Simple and chocolate usually wound up meaning a candy bar, but Ashlynn had the feeling if she tried that, she'd end up failing. Glancing up at the clock, she took a few deep breaths and through hard. She could always multitask. Grabbing for the green beans and potatoes, she set the beans in a pan with some butter and almonds and let the whole mess cook while she chopped potatoes and shoved them into the oven to roast. Now for the fish. Well, grilled fish was simple, right?
Working hard, Ashlynn managed to get the main meal put together though the burnt edges on the fish made her suspect she'd ruined it forever. She'd even managed a dessert. Chocolate cake in a cup! Easy. Except it was still half raw in the middle. Still. She'd tried. It was kind of a fail of a meal, but she'd tried.

Name: Meris Meat: Beef, Desert: Strawberry Collage: Meris had to be the luckiest person ever and had been sighing relief at the homework assignment the whole time. He actually knew how to make a desert having to do with strawberry having come to the academy early junior year. The problem was the beef. While he knew how to make hamburger he wanted to try steak or something fancy for once… only problem was the lack of time and would he really hear the end of it if he accidentally screwed up the steak. Then Meris remembered Professor Sam did say simple. So spaghetti it was. He ran around and dodged the other students grabbing an avocado, hamburger meat, obviously noodles and classic normal spaghetti meat sauce. Most everything went off without a hitch although the noodles were a little over cooked luckily you couldn’t really tell. He toasted the bread and added garlic butter and cut up some avocado slices for vegetables since he doubted he could get away with the spaghetti sauce counting. Now for deserts… well what if he went rather literal. He took the strawberries and cleaned them, cutting off the green parts. He made sections in the fruit but made sure it was still all in one piece and filled those sections with whip cream because everyone loved whip cream right? Oh… couldn’t forget the chocolate sprinkles. There meal done and all in one class period. Now the question was did it taste good? Would he have to eat this after class? Oh well.. time to turn it in and see if he could get away with helping Morin?
