The mirror, after sliding through it, felt cold and empty. But when Mintaka touched down in solid ground, she looked around to make sure there was no signs of wraiths. If there was, she gave them a bit of her energy and they took it off to whatever deep dark abyss that they went too.
To Aurostibite, he would only see smoky shifting figures.
And then Mirrorspace shook and shifted and the smoky darkness formed into a very decorative room.
Complete with four doors, one on each wall. The furniture it's self was a mix of antique looking things, covered in hazy smoke along the ground.
"It shifts based on what it feels best for the Dark mirror in it. Right now I am thinking of a homey setting." She smiled, "And exploring it. Hence the doors."

It was a peculiar feeling. A little unpleasant at first, cold and dark; but as Mintaka stepped down, so did Aurostibite, glancing around with a curious expression on his face. There was smoke here, curling around and engulfing the place - which wasn't exactly a place, more just a space that existed in time.
It reformed after a moment, into a rather lovely room, and Aurostibite's gaze flickered interestedly at all of the fixtures before he settled it back onto Mintaka.
An arm wound around her waist, drawing her nearer so that he could press his lips gently to her temple.
"It's very pretty," he said. "I rather like it. So you come here to think..?"

She preened a little at the kiss.
And then deflated a little.
"Well...sometimes..." She murmured.
"Maybe a lot." She frowned. "I've also wanted to explore more faucets for it." She hesitated, "Because it's so large." And then she held a hand out, as a shadowy wisp came closer to it. It didn't really look like anything but a shadow, but a small hand reached out and gently placed in Mintaka's, before disappearing and small sound escaped.
"These are wraiths." She looked up at them fondly. "I like them."

He caught the sag of her shoulders, and gave her a little squeeze.
"It's all right to have a place to come when you need to settle your mind," said Aurostibite gently. "Just...don't feel the need to hide from me, please. I don't like finding things out after the fact, but I don't want to have to force them out of you, either."
His eyes flickered towards the shadow, Aurostibite tensing automatically, but it seemed harmless enough, dissipating after a second.
"Are they..." he asked curiously, slanting a gaze at Mintaka. "What do they do, exactly?"

She wanted to pretend she could give Aurostibite a smile. But her heart was hurting. And it was hard to push it all way.
"I'm sorry." She held his hand, feeling the wraiths forming around her discomfort. But they quickly faded back. Such responsive creatures.
"They drain energy." She smiled a little at him, "They are like...youma's but more skittish. And they prefer to be called upon from the mirror." At least all the ones she had met were like that.
"Come, I can show you Ares's throne if you want. She was the former leader of the Dark Mirrors."

He brushed his hand affectionately through her hair, bending to give the top of her head a kiss.
"Don't be sorry, sweetheart, I hate to see you in pain," Aurostibite murmured. "I wish I could help alleviate some of your pain, but at the very least I will be here to help you carry the pain as much as I can, all right? And I will always be here for you."
A little nod was given and he smoothed a gentle hand up and down her back.
"What happened to her?"

"It's gonna take awhile. It hurts more then I thought it would." she sighed, "I thought..." She laughed, "I thought everything would be good and amazing and magical here, and I would have a huge new big family."
And she shrugged, "I will heal. Just some time."
And then she went further up, touching the throne.
"Remarque doesn't know. He told me one day...she just disappeared." She laughed, "It seems to be fashion in DMC...Although I thought it wouldn't."

He nodded in understanding, even if he couldn't fully work through the pain as she was. Aurostibite had never before been betrayed the way Mintaka had; he'd kept his heart aside, sheltered and blocked, hadn't given himself time to worry about anything other than simply taking care of his Negaverse business. But in spite of that, Mintaka's pain brought an ache to his heart and his chest that throbbed devastatingly, because her pain was his own.
"You will heal," said Aurostibite softly, but firmly, pressing his lips together as his gloved fingers drifted absently through her pale hair. "You will heal, and I will do what I can to help you with what you need."
The throne was impressive, and Aurostibite's eyes flickered over it with awe before he let them rest once more on Mintaka. The laugh was worrisome, because it almost sounded bitter, almost as though she was merely laughing at the irony of the situation.
"You haven't disappeared," he pointed out.

She stared at it longer, calming, in spite of the fear lurking in her heart, at his touch. The way he did so easily now, when only months before, he wouldn't even think of such a thing. She could remember the day he had ran away from her at first.
But it was different here now. And that was something.
The laugh had been bitter, as with the gaze that was still held on the throne. Who would sit here next? Only to disappear to the side of order?
She always wondered.
"I won't." She whispered to him, turning her head to look at him. "I won't disappear. This is my home now." She didn't sit on the throne, but she knew the responsibility it held. Remarque and even Leto, were doing the best.
She needed to as well.
"I need to ask you, about the negaverse..." She looked at him, "What would you think...if I offered my powers to them. There was once a alliance between the two. What if I honor it?"

He'd tried to run once, but it hadn't worked. The denial of his own growing feelings towards Mintaka had made it impossible for Aurostibite to leave her, and he had no desire to do so again. Now his place was beside her, not behind or in front of her, but consistently and constantly at her side, protecting and supporting her.
His fingers threaded through her hair, gentle and soft, and he gave a little nod at the promise of her not disappearing. It brought warmth to Aurostibite's chest, and he made a silent vow to uphold his own loyalties the best he could - to Mintaka, and to the Negaverse.
Her question gave him pause, however, and Aurostibite glanced down at her, wariness on his face, fingers stilling, but remaining in her hair.
"What kind of alliance would you offer?" he asked, head tilted.

"I don't know." She looked back at Ares's throne. "But when I do, I will make sure it is clear where my intentions lie. When you become a general, That is when I will make the move." She looked up at him.
"I will help you against order, and what they stand for. I can no longer be neutral in war. It had done me, and the future me, no good." And she felt detriemened. Strong in her convictions.
"I'll show the Dark mirrors that the negaverse is more then attacks on us."

He let out a soft breath that was more of a sound of frustration than anything else.
"If I am able to make general," said Aurostibite, wishing he didn't sound so bitter about the whole thing. It had been close to three years, after all; and it had taken him that long simply to get to Captain in the first place. Who knew how long it would be to become a General?
Too long, said a voice in his head. Always a follower, never a leader.
"You will do great things," Aurostibite said instead, Mintaka's convictions burning into his chest like physical fire. "And I will stand beside you the entire way while you prove to them that you are not to be trifled with."

"When you do." She reached over and hugged him, playing with his hair in her hands. "We will do great things." She breathed out.
"Together. We'll change this." She let her hand fall to his and then tugged him. The strength of having both him and herself in mirrorspace was draining her and thus, she was feeling weaker with each moment.
"Would you like to go home now?" She breathed in as Mirrorspace changed, adjusting the path to the mirror to their manor. "I'm suddenly very tired..."

He smiled down at her and twined their fingers together. Aurostibite leaned down and caught Mintaka's face with his free hand, tilting it up so that he could press a gentle, soft kiss to her lips, warm and affectionate and full of nothing but love.
"We will do great things together," he said softly, and gave a nod. "Let's return home, you are tired."
His hand slid down her cheek and a thumb brushed beneath her eye, cradling her cheek.
"We will figure this out, my love."

She could feel the love, and at one point, she comforted in it. Here, she had Aurostibite, and he was hers and he would never think of leaving the negaverse or chaos.
And she didn't mind that.
"Here..." She slid them out of the mirror and they were back into the woods she snuck off into. "Will you carry me love?" She felt so emotional drained, and the amount of time they had been in there was always longer then it seemed.
She felt very weak, that the minute she slipped from the mirror, she was shifting into Rumi, and sliding towards the grass.
So tired.... Kuropeco I am not saying we should wrap this, but bruh, how bad would it be that Auro went missing right after this. IAJS
