Another production from us. lol!

Alister had just picked up the cookies he was bringing to Lenora. There was a favorite bakery of his, he had a friend who owned it. He would always give Alister a nice fresh batch of the cookies, a little variety of them as well. He even taught Alister once how to bake some of them, showing him some of his baking tricks. This friend is someone he's known since he was a child, both grew up into different careers, but still stayed good friends. Just like he was such good friends with Lenora, even though some people had made comments like they thought the two would get married or something.

He had just arrived at Lenora's, knocking on the door, waiting till the butler opened the door. "Good afternoon," greeting the fellow before he led him in to Lenora. Smiling as he saw his dear friend, going to give her a hug, since it's not like anyone was around to comment about such a friendly gesture. Some people were just too snooty and always did their little formal greetings. "Lenora, dear, how are you this afternoon? I've brought our treats for tea, a nice fresh batch of cookies, still warm." Setting the box on the table, there was a plate in the middle of the table, where he could set the cookies onto.

"Glad to hear that my friend," it was always good to know she was doing okay. "How is Josiah doing as well? I hope the young man is behaving himself. It'll soon be that Season again, where all the eligible ladies will be searching for those eligible men." Saying that also as a hint, that Josiah should be careful during that time, he might find he'll become smitten with someone. Alister could only hope the young man wouldn't encounter any heartbreak.

Soon both sitting, starting on their tea and cookies, Alister adding some milk to his. "Well...we are about to start our new season of performances. There have been some good...prospective performers that have joined our company just recently. I do hope they do well when they actually have to perform on stage. If we ever get to pulling up the curtain this season." Sipping his tea, elaborating on that statement, "We have yet to figure out the show we will do. I thought I might as you dear friend, what you thought about the possible shows we could do." He wanted to know her thoughts, since he trusted her judgment and taste in what type of show to do for the opera.





'Ooof, ow, okay, that was a little less then a perfect landing.' Thinking to herself, as she pushed herself out of the bushes. Marlena and her parents has just gotten back home after they'd been on a trip overseas the last week or so. It had been exhausting, though Marlena was lucky she wasn't battling such severe seasickness as her mother. But even with the illness, her mother immediately started badgering Marlena when they got home. She was going on and on about how the debutante season was starting soon, and this year Marlena had finally come of age. Her parents would throw a grand ball at their home, to celebrate her debut.

Marlena was honestly sick and tired of thinking about it right now, the planning, the suitors, all that hullabaloo. So while he parents were distracted and left to their own devices, Marlena snuck off. Climbing out one of the windows of her home, thankfully this one was only a short drop to the ground, though she had landed in the bushes. Brushing herself off, Marlena scampered out of the gardens of her home, and off the property. She wanted to just go walk and clear her head for a bit, without a chaperone, and without anyone else buzzing in her ear about being proper or her prospects in a husband, etc.

She knew it wasn't an acceptable thing, for a young woman to be out without a chaperone of some sort, but she didn't plan to stay out too long or stray too far. It had only been a week since she'd been home, but it almost felt longer. She was just happy to be back around the hustle and bustle of the city. Just doing a little people watching, her gaze following different people as they walked by, watching them curiously before she continued on walking, not paying attention too well.

"I'm glad to hear that he is doing well. Mhm...that must be something for the young man...the House of Lords, that is quite a thing to deal with. Overwhelming, but I'm sure he can handle it, once he gets more settled into things." It was quite interesting to think of Josiah in the position he was in now, being amongst the House of Lords now. Having to take on the responsibilities of his title. Most young men made fools of themselves in their positions, they were lechers and foolhardy, just playing around or flirting around. So Alister bet Josiah would handle things much better though.

Blinking, Alister blushed a moment, "Ah no no...Lenora, I don't know about that..." A little sheepish thinking about the fact he was an eligible bachelor for the ladies of the season as well. But, he mostly was a tad closed off about all that. He just hasn't found that right person for him. Nodding a bit, "Well...he may want to take it slow...but you know the mothers of the Ton are ravenous around this season. They send out invitations galore and get their claws into every possible bachelor, to get them to the variety of parties they all throw for their daughters for the season. So he must be prepared for the influx of invitations eventually to come." The Ton being the bourgeois, all those fancy important families that tried to get their eligible ladies married to the most important and richest of men. It was like hunting season for to hunt for husbands.

Sipping away at his tea, nibbling a cookie or two, he tried to keep his mind off all the parties. Though he looked forward to the performances his Opera troupe would do. Listening to Lenora's suggestion, nodding a bit at the ideas. "Mhm...both good ideas...Hmm...maybe The Magic Flute. Ha, it I true we haven't done something by Mozart in awhile, so this would be perfect."

He knew about Josiah being an elemental mage, earth related. So he knew that the atmosphere in the city here would make Josiah feel unwell. "Makes sense...though you know he won't be able to avoid the Ton for long...there's only so long he can stay out there and take a break before the House of Lords obligations bring him back and involve him in this whole...debutante season." And Lenora would know it was true, it wasn't easy for anyone of some title importance to avoid this season. One couldn't just escape to the countryside and avoid the activity. Only married couples could do that. It was always very odd...the standards of the society, and how constrained things were for the men and women.

Shrugging a tad bit, "We shall see...in due time I suppose..." If he found someone. At the mention of Josiah, "I'm sure he will, it would be rather precious for him if it happened his first season out as part of the House or Lords." Thinking it adorable, the young love and all.

Leaning a little on the table, not something he did at parties and the like, since everyone had to look so nice with their posture and all. But with Lenora, since she was his best friend, he could relax and just...slouch once in awhile. Nodding, "Yes...I do need one...Mhm, well...I'd like to meet this person then? I mean, I would ask you to play for me, but I know you are busy dear friend, so I wouldn't want to stress you out. But...if this other friend of yours can do it justice, I'd like to meet them and possibly hire them."

Lord Josiah Sullivan was done with the business of the House of Lords for the day. He was glad to be done and out of the robes that were uniformed. He rode in his carriage from the Parliament House to one of the largest public gardens so he could get his feet on the soil for relief. He was an earth elemental master and he needed to be able to connect directly with the earth after long periods of being inside. He put on his traveling jacket on before getting out the carriage at one of the entrances near the garden. "Thank you Cleave, you can go on home and tell mother that I'll be back around seven." He said to the driver and he nodded. Before he could enter the park though, a woman literally walked straight into him. "Sorry miss, are you alright?"

" True, and I do hope he does find a young lady that has good, common sense in her head unlike some of the ladies in the Ton." Lenora said as she hoped that she wouldn't have to deal with a woman that didn't have common sense. Or one of those foolish ninnies that would spend all of his money for the latest fashions.

She blush slightly at his reaction to her comment about being open minded about another chance at love. Then she grinned slightly before responding back. " Perhaps, only time will tell. If I keep an open mind about it, you should too, you know." Lenora said back to him before drinking some tea. " I think I did well on the first time, wouldn't you agree? I got a good head on these shoulders here. Even though, I do appreciate you looking out for me. I remember you doing that with Arthur and he was glad that you did so. He was impressed by you Alister. Arthur was glad to know that I had friends that cared about me besides my family." Lenora said to him, not sure if she had told him that before.


Lenora nodded at what he said about meeting Vivian. "I do hope that it will be sooner than that but we'll see. I let let you know when it's more of a sure thing." Lenora said back to him, wondering how the two would get along with each other. She hoped for the best for the two but only time would tell.
