Storyline ->
Eh, I finally thought of a name! Diana Neves (translates to Goddess Snow).
And...to get to the island....she's a librarian searching for adoptive parents. She's been with great foster parents since she was a little girl, but growing up, she's felt like she's needed to find this missing link in her life. She's just turned 30 years old, and throught her connections as a librarian, she's found a website claiming to have 'massive databases' of family records and has been notified that her adoption records were located here on this island (which has spent years 'tracking down' and finding these adopted kids to return their records). All she needs to do is come to the island to claim her records (as they need to see her in person).
Thinking about it for quite awhile, she agrees that this is the way to find out about her parents and begins her journey to the island.
Her animal is the one Colche suggested (it escapes me at the moment, but I will remember it!) and fits her shy but yet strong-willed personality.
....how does it sounds for starters?
