Orlan was starting to wonder what it was a messenger did. Sure, she had some work on some days, but most of the time... she really didn't have a lot to do. Perhaps she just hadn't learned enough about her job yet. She hoped other lions didn't think she wasn't taking things seriously. She was! She definitely wanted to make sure everyone knew she was very fond of her job and wouldn't trade it for another one. it was the truth.

She just... wanted more to do sometimes.

Sighing heavily, she sat herself down near a small collection of water that had formed from the recent rains. She bent down and herself a drink, before moving a paw into the water and splashing absently. It felt nice, and gave her a little bit more to do, at least. It was also a bit of an idle task while she mused about her job.

The morning started normal for Xagara. She sent Mellas off as soon as she woke up to tail her mother. It would be some time before the small avian returned to her side, so the white lioness had some time to herself. Normally around this time of day, there would be small scrapes and bumps to deal with in the smaller cubs who couldn't seem to keep out of trouble, but her day had been quite slow so far.

So, Xagara decided to wander along, curiously seeking out company. Her sisters were no doubt, more busy than she was. She could always find her mother, she guessed, but whoever she came across would do just fine.

Orlan's ears shot forward when she heard someone coming, the lioness looking over at the figure. It looked like another lioness, another member of the pride. That was good! She was feeling more than a little board, and some conversation would do her good. She just hoped this lioness wasn't like Frigga- the cranky nature of some lions was endearing, but it could get a little old.

"Hello there," she offered, though she wasn't sure the lioness had even noticed her sitting there yet. She hoped she wouldn't end up startling the girl. "would you like something to drink? There's a nice pond of water over here!"

The figure sitting just so had surprised Xagara a little, but she smiled at the lioness. She felt a little bad for being so lost in thought that she would pass the lioness right by! “Hello!” She greeted in turn. She made her way over to the other, sitting down near by, for at least conversational purposes.

“I don’t mind some water. First though, my name is Xagara! What’s yours?” She asked. Xagara could still be very much a child at heart. It was one of the reasons she cared mostly for the scrapes and bumps of the younger generation, because she could easily cheer them up.

Orlan smiled brightly. Yay! She seemed the opposite of mean and sarcastic- she seemed friendly! She offered introductions right away! With Frigga, you pretty much had to force a name out of her. though she supposed she wasn't that upset with it, since she kept thinking about the female. Clearly, they were still very close friends regardless of her brain's counter arguements.

"Of course! How rude of me," she hummed lightly, "my name is Orlan! It's a pleasure to meet you, Xagara!" She thought her name was very lovely- unique. "I was just thinking that I might like some company, so I'm quite happy you came along!" She admitted with a laugh.

Xagara smiled back at the other lioness, "It's nice to meet you as well, Orlan!" She told the other. If the white lioness was honest, she didn't really get out too much, watching after her mother a lot of the time. She didn't actually have very many friends!

"Well, I'm glad you said hello, then! I would have walked right on by," she gave a small laugh. She paused to drink some water after she spoke, but not very much. She wanted to focus her attention on Orlan.

Orlan let her drink, sighing softly. "Well, I hope I didn't interrupt you or anything. I guess I'm just feeling a little... lonely. I don't have any messages to send to anyone, and since that's my job I'm sort of... without something to do at the moment, you know?" She chuckled and shook her head, trying not to let her feelings ruin the mood. Instead, she watched Xagara, waiting for her to have a chance to speak again.

"What about you? How has your day been going today, my friend?" She knew they just met, but she liked calling others her friend- she felt it helped relax people and it was just a nice feeling in general. She always liked when people called her a friend, after all. That was the saying, wasn't it? Treat others how you want to be treated?

"I know how you feel. It's been really slow lately, as a healer. The little cubs are starting to be more careful, though, so I'm happy with that," Xagara gave a small laugh. "I don't mind so much! If gives a chance to make friends."

Xagara was all about making friends. She was more friends with her mother's guardians than anything else. Though, they were scouts really, keeping an eye on her mother for her. They weren't super close by any means...

It was time she made her own friends!

Her sister was a messenger, though. The job seemed fun, though Orlan seemed a little bored with it... "Not many messages coming through then?" She asked with a small frown. "Perhaps you can set up a small message service between friends in the pride. I'm sure everyone would like to hear how their friends are if they don't seem them as often as they would like!"

Cajanic
"Oh! a Healer! That's quite an impressive job," Orlane hummed lightly, "I wouldn't be very good at something like that, I think. I tend to panic when things get bad. Though tending to cubs does sound fun, even if it might also be a pawful." She could only imagine the bumps and cuts cubs got while they were growing and exploring more and more.

That sounded like a LOT of work, actually.

She smiled at the suggestion, nodding along with it. "That's a good idea. Perhaps I'll find something like that to occupy more time with. I suppose I could also hunt in my downtime, too. It's what I used to do before taking on this job, and I don't think anyone would mind an extra paw bringing in food." They were such a huge pride- they always needed food!

She started to walk, smiling and looking over her shoulder back at her new friend. "Would you like to come on a stroll with me? I heard there's a lovely flower field blooming on the other side of the pride."

Seaki
Xagara was rather please - she did do a lot of work, but she was glad for the days in between. “They’re quite rambunctious,” she agreed, easily. She was always having to patch up little bumps and cuts! Today, though, she was pleased to say that the cubs were being more careful than usual.

“Flowers would be a welcome sight,” The white lioness agreed easily. She stretched, moving to follow her new friend to the flower patch.
