About
One of the few Kelpi members of the Gobiidae Sarab, Umaia is rarely seen by outsiders, or even most members of the Gobiidae Sarab herd, as she is only a part time member. A member of the Deepwater Cavern Kelpi, she spends most of her life in the caves under the desert in the gemglow and bioluminescant alge lined waterways and airfilled chambers. There is little she needs that she cannot get, but what little she does she trades for fish she farms or gemstones she mines, or in exchange for a little muscle-work, though the pescivore is only barely bigger than a large Usdia. She speaks very little of Soquili Common, frequently getting phrases wrong or mixing Common with her families language. She's a good soul, but can frequently come as stand offish or grumpy.

Kahfalmiah Aleamiqa or Deepwater Cavern Kelpi have big chests and lungs for holding breath for a long period of time but sort of diminished leg muscles -- they still use them in the water and on land, but they're not runners since in the caves they don't exactly have predators hunting them down, peg like teeth for catching fish (Though they have molars further back still for chewing river reeds and grasses and their roots since they lack clipper teeth during the rare visits to the surface world). They also have long slender necks and slim muzzles for poking into underwater crevasses getting fish out of hide-y holes, as well as large eyes of nocturnal predators -- while the caves are surprisingly full of light, its not the same as the light of the sun.

Should they visit the surface during the day, it is common to wear either sheer fabric over their eyes or wear glasses made out of gemstone or darkly colored glass disks, protecting their sensitive eyes from the glare of the sun. While Umaia lacks natural luminescence, the native Mers, Kelpi, seathi and Nixie frequently have some form of it.

• Has a small selection of Jellyfish "Pets" -- Familiars that don't really show too much of their intelligence beyond being trainable to sit in well ventilated glass lanterns in exchange for the occasional piece of fish and protection.

Personality
Kura is an adventurous individual, a treasure hunter with a hording instinct in a tiny package. She's usually a good person, but when she has her mind set on a dazzling piece, little can deter her from attempting to get it by any means possible within reason.

Most of her treasures are shiny, brightly colored, reflective, or a combination of the three, and small enough for her to drag away, and usually from above water, and keeps track of floods on the main land since they wash all sorts of treasure into the ocean, lost articles of other soquili's accessories.

He prized and largest possession is a slightly barnacle encrusted silver hand mirror from a different wreck, in which she preens herself infront of with her newest loot, setting her second favorite treasure of the moment in front of it so she can see all sides at once in a glance.

She's planted Coral polips around the entrances of the cabin, making it difficult for larger soquili, such as mers and Kelpie, and predators from getting in.
