Gloomwood. A forlorn looking, unkempt wood surrounds a narrow, overgrown path to a deeper and darker section of the woods. You find yourself in a small encampment, with an extensive staff of questgivers and several vendors who sell rookie equipment, with nowhere to go but forward.

Vendors:

Weaponsmith: Sells rookie weapons for 100 Glint apiece
Tailor: Sells light rookie armor for 100 Glint apiece
Leatherworker: Sells medium rookie armor for 100 Glint apiece
Armorsmith: Sells heavy rookie armor and rookie shields for 100 Glint apiece
Beastmaster: Sells bait for 10 Glint apiece, buys rabbits for 150 Glint apiece
Carpenter: Sells rookie carpenter equipment for 100 Glint apiece, and nails for 10 Glint a set
Woodworker: Sells rookie bows for 100 Glint apiece
Chemist: Sells rookie health potions for 200 Glint a piece, each restoring 2 HP a round for three rounds. You may only drink one potion in six rounds. Using a potion is a roll1 action, or you can throw it to someone else using your roll1, then they themselves can use a roll1 to drink it. There is no chance of missing

Lightsmith: Sells rookie health crystals for 300 Glint a piece, each restoring 4 HP instantly. Using a crystal is a roll1 action, and you can use one on someone else by saying their name or touching them with it.

Trophy Hunter: Sells Preserving Oil for 100 Glint a unit

to reach the dungeon, two encounters must be completed without returning to town. The amount of monsters will be randomly generated each encounter

first: boars. 1d4, 1-3 equals number of boars, 4 equals super boar
second: bears. 1d10, 1-5 = 1 bear, 6-9 = 2 bears, 10 = super bear

when rolling a loot roll, a roll between 1 and 5 by the person who killed it will cause the monster to reappear, with twice as much health and half as much detriment to its stats. It will defend 1-20, attack 21-90 and rage91-100. During a rage post, the monster will attack with +20 attack, instead of any detriment.

When mining the stones (requires a pickaxe) near the Gloomweave Cave, roll 1d100+mining
1-50= 1 unit stone
51-75= 1 unit charcoal, 1 unit stone
76-80= 1 unit iron ore, 1 unit charcoal, 1 unit stone
81-85= 1 unit quartz, 1 unit iron ore, 2 units stone
86-90= 1 unit quartz, 1 unit iron ore, 1 unit charcoal, 2 unit stone
91-124= 2 units quartz, 2 unit iron ore, 2 units charcoal, 3 units stone

Monsters:

While out in the woods, just exploring, roll 1d100.
1-25= encounter a rabbit. 10 HP, roll3 unmodified, roll4 always equals run away. Will only be in combat range for one post, then will be outside combat range for one post, then will disappear.
26-50= Deer. 10 HP, roll3 +10, roll4 always equals run away. Will only be in combat range for one post, then will be outside combat range for one post, then will disappear.
51-75= Gloomweave Spider
76-90= Boar
91-100= Bear

Gloomweave spiders: A large spider, roughly three feet tall and six feet across. A successful attack from this monster will cause poison for three rounds, worth one point of damage a round. They are found near a cave, which is filled with them. Venturing into the cave will start an encounter with at least three spiders. (player gets to choose how many, but it must be at least three, plus one for every additional party member beyond one.) Once those spiders are defeated, notify a moderator for your special reward, before leaving the cave.
HP: 20

Bear: A large black bear, its fur fallen off in tufts, rabid from some disease it seems.

91-100: rage for one round, reducing the penalty to all rolls to -10, and reducing damage taken by half.

Loot tables:
when you beat an enemy, it will drop loot. Every surviving combatant will simply roll a 1d100 at the end of combat to determine what was dropped.

Rabbit: roll 1d100
Deer: roll 1d100

Spiders:
1-50: 1d50 Gil (meaning you just take the number you rolled as Gil.)
51-75: 1d25 Gil + 1 rookie health potion
76-100 1d50 Gil + 1 rookie health potion

Boar:
1-50: 1d100 Gil (times two the roll, or re-roll the 1d100 and keep the latter result)
51-80: 1d100 Gil + 1 rookie health potion
81-100: 1d100 Gil + 2 rookie health potion

Bear:
1-60: 2d100 Gil (multiply times two, or re-roll Gil)
61-80: 2d100 Gil + 1 rookie health crystal

Alyx decided that today was as good as any day to go questing for the Dire Wolf. He'd gotten the quest a while back from a man known as the Trophy Hunter, and his mouth watered as he thought of decorating his home with the corpses of his enemies, as macabre as that idea was. He himself was a trophy hunter, and he'd be damned if he was not going to know how to make those trophies himself. He could see the Gloomweave Queen standing terrifying guard over his guild hall, her legs raised high over the table where he and his guildmates sat. Yes. That would do nicely. But first, he was being ambushed by boars. It seemed that the further you got from the encampment, the more aggressive the wildlife got. Sadly, there didn't seem to be any spiders this far away from Gloomweave Cave, so he didn't have that cathartic pleasure to look forward to. Oh, well. his poison didn't work on them, anyway, and his blade was dripping wet with excitement. His eyes flashed and his blade disappeared, driving forward at the nearest boar.

And just like that, the boar that had offered its flank to Alyx was dispatched with all haste. Alyx felt incredible. He could one-hit boars now. He let loose a roar and wore a lustful grin, eyeing the next boar. Oh ******** the hell yes. He raised his sword and began running forward, his blade bursting into white light, akin to a divine light. He loved every second of this slaughter. It was all too easy... He would have to think of ways to make the game more challenging to keep himself entertained. He owed it to his friends not to clear the dungeon on his own, so he would need to find ways to occupy his time around the fields. Besides, rushing into the dungeon is how people get themselves killed. And Alyx wasn't going to die.

This one was smart. After watching its comrade turn into all the ingredients of a crystal chandelier, it decided to run away. Unfortunately for the boar, though, it had not been smart enough to not be involved in this fight in the first place. Alyx buried his toxic blade into the animal's rump and watched as its healthbar was depleted past the halfway mark, and the poison indicator appeared to reveal the insidious truth behind Alyx' attacks. He was a walking toxic event, and he loved it. A slow realization came to him, as he fought. A small brainchild, that grew bigger as he thought about it... Yes... Yes, he had everything he'd need. His smile grew larger and even more bloodthirsty. He would become a true monster.

He wasn't even here anymore. He was off, somewhere else, in a dreamland filled with swords and monsters. Oh, wait. That's where he was now. He looked around. In... Another dreamland, filled with swords and monsters. Yes. That's where he was. He was on a hunt for the dire wolf, yes, but he was absolutely on another quest, now. He had a plan, and he couldn't wait to put it into action. But he had to wait until he'd tracked down that mythical wolf to put his plan into action. So, he would do that, and then he would begin work on his newest plot. He had long since thought about having a 'solo' build. Yes, he was a decent tank. But when you're on your own, tanking was not necessarily the fastest way to level. He had options, now. He scrolled through his inventory as he walked.

As Alyx continued to walk, he encountered a rumbling sound followed by a bear breaking out of the growth on one side of the trail. Alyx hadn't noticed, but apparently it had snuck up on him somehow. No matter. The man drew his sword and charged a thrust, preparing for the combat to come. He aimed the point of his sword at the monster's face, and allowed the power that had built up inside the blade to drag the weapon forward, delivering a powerful attack that surpassed what Alyx could throw by his own hand. He would have a use for that, yes. Especially with its low AP cost. He smiled.

Alyx met the bear headfirst, and his blade plunged deep into its forehead and down its spine. It fell to its belly and the life left its eyes as it turned a brilliant shade of red and exploded. Alyx flicked his sword to the side to clean the 'gore' from the blade, and sheathed it into his shield. "Rest in peace." He smiled and looked forward into the trees. In the distance was his destiny. Alyx walked forward, continuing down the path and opening his loot window. Some good stuff, to be sure. He looked as his collection of trophies and wondered what they would look like when he finally got them mounted.

Alyx marvelled at his new trophy and inspected its new stats: +5 arte points. He grinned and wondered what the other trophies would give him. He immediately decided on crafting the Spider Queen trophy and purchased 5 preserving oils. It was the most expensive trophy he could make, so it had to be good. When he was waiting for the process to complete, he realized that he was almost shaking with excitement. He could imagine it now. It would be amazing. It had to be. He wondered what it would look like. Would it complement his armor? It would have to, wouldn't it? Of course. It would mesh perfectly with his ensemble. He was the Gloomking. He had to look good.

Alyx looked down at the small spider in his hand and instantly fell in love. It was incredible. With this, in addition to his other items, he was able to deal +5 poison damage with every strike. That was insane. Stacking that with Spiderbite, he was going to deal +5/+5 per attack, and would be able to stack up to thirty points of damage a tick. That was insane. Totally crazy. This only strengthened his decision to start building a solo persona. His tanky self was great, but he would have to split his attention between attack and defense once he got to opponents that were too powerful for his armor to shut them down. He decided to make all of his trophies and see what he could get from them. Next on his list was boar.
