- Grace was once again sitting in her room with absoutely nothing to do. She hated how strict her father was, being the Sheriff and all, but that doesn't mean he had to keep her inside all day everyday. Sitting on her window bench seat, she looked out onto the street and neighbors were little kids were running around in bathing suits squirting each other with water guns or teenagers laying out in the sun and on their phones. Grace let out a sigh and leaned her head against the wall. For crying out loud, the dark haired female was nineteen years old and her father still treated her like she was five. In the middle of her thoughts, she heard her phone vibrate from across the room that was sitting on her bed. Jumping up to her grab her blue iPhone, she saw it was a text from her best friend Makayla.
From: Makayla
To: Grace
MSG: hey, do you wanna do something today? i'm so bored just sitting here at Dakota's while he's practicing with his band.
Grace shook her head, she loved her friend, but she was so mean to her boyfriend of three years. They've been dating since junior year of high school, won Prom King and Queen and everything and won cutest couple before they graduated high school. Grace quickly responded with a yes and asked if she wanted to go to the mall, she was dying to shop for more summer clothes. The dark haired female didn't even put down her phone before her phone vibrated again with a yes! in capital letters. Grace smiled and made her way downstairs wearing jean cut off shorts, a yellow tank top and a flower bandeau with her tan sandals. At the bottom of the stairs, her father was standing at the bottom of them with his arms crossed in front of his chest and had a stern look on his face. "What do you think you're doing?" Grace stopped on the last step and looked at her father, "I was going to grab a bottle of water from the fridge and get my purse and go to the mall with Makayla." Her dad raised an eyebrow, "Are you lying to me?" Grace rolled her eyes and put her hands on her hips, "No dad, if I lied, I'd be grounded and I actually want to see my friends since you don't let me go out pretty much at all." She can tell she was about to get a heated answer from her father who desperately needed anger managment. As he was about to retort, Grace heard a car honk and knew it was Makayla. "Okay, well I'm gonna go now." Stepping around him, she quickly ran to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of water, and grabbed her purse from the table and made her way out the door. Getting into Makayla's car, she smiled and the drove to the mall.
