  "This is all your fault you big, stupid, oaf!" Vivian continued retorting to her brother, her voice cracking each minute she spoke. She didn't want to be in this car. She didn't deserve to be shipped off to live in the middle of no where with inbreds. She kept her head turned, letting her long blonde hair covering her puffy red cheeks. Her blue eyes glazed over the road sign they passed, which read in big letters, Welcome to Austin, Texas! Another tear streamed down her cheek and she sniffled. This Austin would be no replacement of her dear, one and only, Chicago. She was born and raised there, and the city would forever be where her heart lied.
"You're such a big baby." Dakota rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest, watching out the window as they pulled off the main highway and onto an exit which only showed off a few primal gas stations, a retro diner, and a small shopping plaza. He could hear Vivian's sobs increase in size as she realized there was no super sized mall for her to sit in for hours on her cell phone. He glanced over at her, noticing as she was all tucked up in her American Eagle sweatshirt, no doubt one belonging to Josh, her boyfriend from Chicago. "Viv, it's like ninety degrees here, lose the sweatshirt. Besides, didn't you break up with him?"
To this, Vivian scowled under her breath and shot a death glare at her brother. "I only had to break up with him because of your stupid a**! If you hadn't tried to show off by being a 'bad boy,' none of this would have ever happened! I could still be at home looking over the streets of Chicago, watching the hot dog man open up his stand and watch thousands of people just go right by him." She shoved his arm roughly, and to this, their mother whipped her head around and shot Vivian a glare, telling her to knock it off. Vivian's lip quivered again and she tucked herself up against the door, even as she felt the car roll to a stop, hearing a crunching of a dirt driveway. Only then did she realize that it was the finale of the trip - that they'd reached their new "home."
Dakota opened the door and stepped out, breathing in. For a moment, he stood. Yes, it was hot and uncomfortable in his clothes versus how it was up in Chicago, but he could actually breathe in this town. There weren't as many car fumes and trash tainting the air. To him, it just felt good to breathe. Dakota looked down and marveled at how he was standing on dirt, and not pavement. That was something new to him. He looked up at the house, and for the first time, took the time to realize what kind of house it was. For the first time, his family would be living somewhere that wasn't an apartment, but rather somewhere nice. The house was a two story lemon-colored house with a two door garage. On the left side of the house, there was a large cobblestone chimney and sliding glass doors into the dining room, he assumed. Dakota turned around and leaned in the car door, opening it further. "Come on, Viv. Take a look."
"No! I'm not getting out of this car." She hissed, turning fully away from him, burying her head in her sweater.

Scarlet was sitting in her cherry red pickup truck outside of a two story lemon house waiting for a new family to arrive. The dark haired girl had her legs dangling out the rolled down window with her red cowgirl boots softly and repeatedly hitting the passenger side door as she tapped it patiently waiting for this family. Not only a couple minutes later, she heard a car roll up onto the dirt driveway. Scar quickly pulled her tan and slender legs into the truck and looked in the rear view mirror to make sure her ponytail wasn't all loose. With her white and shining smile, she got out of the truck and smiled at the Belrose family. "Hello, I'm Scarlet O'Hara. She looked around and saw the two older people which were obviously Mr. and Mrs. Belrose and then she saw a blonde male looking into the car and talking to someone. She raised an eyebrow but before she could look rude, she got a welcoming hello from the mother of the family. "You guys are probably wondering why I'm here. Well, the only reason I was here is because you guys bought this house from my grandfather before he moved in to live with us and I just wanted to meet you guys to make sure you guys weren't crazy and wouldn't destroy the house he put so much work into." she said with a small laugh. Just as Scarlet was about to offer them a small house tour, the phone in the back pocket of her cut off jean shorts starting singing the chorus to Somethin' Bad by Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. With a quick apologetic smile, she grabbed her phone from her pocket and saw that it was a text from her best friend Terrence.

MSG: scarrrr, please meet me at the diner, i'm starving. i've been in the field since 6am.
Scarlet made a small eye roll and replied quickly.
MSG: be there as soon as i can t.
Sliding the phone back into her pocket, she looked up at the family of four and smiled softly, "I'm sorry for the inconveince but I have some business to attend too, and I'm sorry but I'm not going to be able to give you a small house tour. But Welcome to Austin and if you need anything you can always ask me." With a parting smile, Scarlet made her way to her truck and climbed into the driver seat, turning the key, she peeled out of the dirt driveway probably kicking up a small dirt cloud behind her and made her way to Angie's Diner. Once in the parking lot, she already saw Terrence's silver truck, so she parked right next to him and got out of the truck. Walking into the diner, she was hit with the delicious scents of pancakes and bacon. "Hey Scar, having your usual?" the cook Aaron called from the back to her. Scarlet smiled and nodded her head as she looked around for her dark haired friend and quickly spotted him wearing a gray t-shirt. Sliding into the booth across from him, she smiled at Terrence, "Now what was so important that you needed me so badly." Terrence smiled his goofy smile and shrugged. "I was just hungry and bored." Scarlet shook her head and let out a small laugh as a plate of three pancake, hash browns, eggs and sausage links was placed in front of her and she began to eat.

Terrence was up since the crack of dawn at six am and he was dreading the hot Austin heat. It was only eleven am and it was already almost ninety degrees. A layer of sweat was shining across her the male's muscular torso since he took of his shirt already. Taking a bandanna from the back pocket of his jeans and wiping it across his forehead to remove the sweat from his face. Stuffing the black piece of cloth back into his pocket, Terrence got back to work lifting hay bales and plowing the ground for some crops. By noon, Terrence finished most of his work, but for now was done. Making his way to the house, he grabbed his phone and texted his best friend Scarlet.

MSG: scarrrr, please meet me at the diner, i'm starving. i've been in the field since 6am.
Once hitting send, the dark haired male made his way inside and to the shower. Twenty minutes he was out and felt refreshed and not so sweaty anymore. Once in his room, he put on a pair of blue jeans and a gray t-shirt. Checking his phone super quick, he saw that Scarlet texted him back and said she would be there soon. With a smile he down the stairs of his small home which only housed his mother and him. "Ma, I'll be back to finish more field work later tonight. Going to Angie's with Scar." Waiting by the screen door for a response from his beloved mother, "Okay honey, just make sure it gets done by tomorrow at least." And with that said, Terrence walked out the door and behind him he heard the screen door shut with a thud. Getting into his black truck, he made his way to Angie's. Pulling into the parking lot, he parked and made his way inside the diner. Saying hey to Aaron with a wave as the dark haired male made his way to a booth and ordered a large stack of pancakes, with hash browns, sausage, bacon and eggs and a tall glass of orange juice. Once he ordered, he checked his phone wondering if Scarlet texted him again, but as he did, he heard her voice as she sat down across from him. Smiling at her question, he shrugged and looked at his friend, "I was just hungry and bored," he said back to her. Just then, two huge plates of food was placed in front of both Terrence and Scarlet and they both started eating the food that smelled so delicious.
