AT THE LOCATION(In a new thread for my own organization)The sun is high in the sky as the group steps out of the portal. It's afternoon and pleasantly warm. " Welcome to Tlos!" Sherry said, raising her arms wide. "A site of human habitation for at least 4,000 years, it is believed to have been important to people of the Lycian, Roman, Byzantine, and even Ottoman empires. Today we are concerned with the rock tombs left by the Lycians. Recently there has been a renewed interest by the general public in investigating this beautiful place, which is why we are here now." She turned to face the group. "You see that hill over there?" She pointed at the large rock covered with stone work that all but dominated the ruins. Really, you can't miss it. "That has the oldest part of the ruins- and where the rock tombs are. I have it on good authority that ONE of those tombs leads to the cavern system I mentioned before. I just don't know which one." Sherry smiled. "So. Our first job is simple. We need to find out which tomb is actually a door." She waved a hand. "You'll see evidence of archeologists...and local farmers. But we really need to find that door before they do. So. Everyone spread out, pick a tomb, and investigate. If you find anything that might be a door, let us know. Same goes for anything of interesting or that might have Fear in it." She glanced around. "And is Horace here yet?" He was supposed to be meeting them, and she had brought him some lunch, too. OOC OK! Exploration has started. The terrain is kinda sandy with scrub brush, and while the ruins are spread over a fairly large area the rock tombs are concentrated along the rocky hillside. What you can do: Finding the door! Roll 1d20 and match your results to what is below. 1 -You poke your head into a small tomb and find nothing but spiderweb in your hair. 2 -You find a nest. It is empty, but if you care to investigate you find it is made of long hair. Possibly horse. What else has long hair? 3 -You find a pile of rocks. 4 -bzzz! This one has a hornets nest in it. 5 -You find nothing IN the tomb, but as you turn around you notice someone who appears to be a farmer looking at you. Quick! Time to play the tourist. 6 -Do you like snakes? This tomb has several snakes trying to nap in the corner. 7 -LUCKY YOU Something about the rock wall at the back of the tomb seems off to you. If you give that wall a push, it might just start to crumble. 8 -You look inside this tomb, and you see nothing, but you do hear something that might sound like water. If you try to listen closer, it disappears. 9 -This tomb is small. Inside you find an old envelope, tucked along the wall. If you look inside-- OH! Someone left a love letter here. How odd. 10 -Someone with a sun hat and a huge camera stops you. "Excuse me," they say. "But can you tell me how to get back to Olu Deniz?" 11 -A spider as big as your hand falls onto your arm. 12 -You find a cabbage in this tomb. 13 -LUCKY YOU Something about the rock wall at the back of the tomb seems off to you. If you give that wall a push, it might just start to crumble. 14 -You stick your head into this tomb, and proceed to make the bird nesting there VERY angry. It's just a little sparrow, but it's super mad. 15 -Just outside of a tomb you find a copy of Lonely Planet: Turkey. 16 -Mew! Meow! Aww. This tomb happens to house a cat. It wants you to pet it. 17 -Watch your step! A rock under your foot slips. 18 -This tomb houses an odd collection of pebbles. They are arranged neatly by size and color. 19 -This tomb is cold inside. Which is odd, since there are not doors or anything. 20 -Someone left a really nice pair of sunglasses in this tomb. You can roll once ~ or more times if you want. Unlimited rolls, yay. You can do these in pairs/groups or solo. Feel free to focus on just RP (exploring and chatter) if you would rather do that. <3 IF you roll a LUCKY YOU -Feel free to knock that wall down (it's just stone blocks). Also, maybe tell Sherry (quote me, GrnGriff). Behind the walls all you will find is a tunnel into darkness. (More than one door CAN be rolled! There can be many or just one. If no one rolls the door, well, no worries. : 3 ) ** AT THIS POINT: Anyone can still join! Just pretend you were at the lighthouse the whole time. Anyone is free to remove your hunter from this point on~ You can just have them pendant out anytime if you want. Quote me if you have any questions for Sherry! xxThe Semblance of Unityxx

"Right here," Horace called out, popping out from one of the half-destroyed rocks that littered the ground near the possible entrances. It was not readily apparent just what he'd been doing behind said rock - lurking, maybe, reading, counting blades of grass. After this, he'd be off to Hokkaido. Horace looked a little haggard, dark circles under his eyes and his face a little pinched. But still, his tone was as light and jovial as he could make it. Work was work and he enjoyed it. He waved to the little group; Oliver got a small smile. "Time to barrel down some walls, huh? Almost a shame." At least Horace tended to be alright at barrelling into things.

"Great!" Sherry beamed at the hunter, more than happy to see he'd made it just fine. "This is for you." She held out one blue bag. Inside, Horace would find some sandwiches, water, an apple, and a flashlight.

"Wow ..." To say she was impressed was an understatement. Scout had never even been far out of the UK; to see something as remarkable as ancient ruins was a first for her.
She listened intently, very much a person who followed obediently. Explore the ruins and find a door- it didn't sound that hard. Hopefully it wouldn't be.
"After you guys." She gestured to the ruins, indicating that they should go first.

Dawson gave a low whistle as he took everything in, for a moment overwhelmed. He had never been to any place like this before and, much like Scout, he was a little too stunned to do anything at first.
And then Sherry said Horace, and the man himself appeared, and then said man found himself on the receiving end of a hollering hug.
(He couldn't help himself. Or maybe he could have, but he felt like being over the top.)
"Bruhhhhhh, yer here!" Dawson cheered, giving his friend a quick noogie before finally giving him some space. "Awesome, awesome. Don' worry, no tentacles here ta sodomize ya." Weird joke, but whatever, he was restless and slightly anxious still and now pleasantly surprised and raring to just vent energy.
Saluting Sherry in passing, he obliged Scout and went headlong into exploration to start them off.
And thus did Dawson very bravely poke his head into one tomb, immediately freeze up (literally and figuratively), and back out in a matter of seconds.
"N-Not that one," he reported, rubbing feeling back into his arms.

Scout had been about to follow Dawson into the room, but luckily she'd been observant enough to see him freeze up. "Um ... If you wanted to go with your friend, I'll cover over here for a bit?"
As she took a step or two away, she knocked over a tiny rock. No harm no foul. There were a lot of rocks.

Once on the other side, Oliver was relieved to see the terrain was fairly open, not nearly as dark and frightening as he had anticipated. Still, he was a little slow to get started. He wandered over to Horace, glancing both down at the uneven ground in front of him, and back towards the portal to see when Aro and Clyde came through. "H-hi, I'm glad to see you again, i-it's been awhile." The kid was able to spare a glance in Dawson's direction, envying the other young man's enthusiasm. He hadn't seen the other young man since his visit in the infirmary, but he should at least return the rest of the sudoku book. Oliver had gotten through just over half of it with ease during the remainder of his stay.

Quote: 16 -Mew! Meow! Aww. This tomb happens to house a cat. It wants you to pet it. He only half-heartedly squirmed away from Dawson and watched, mildly befuddled at the man's energy as he ran off. He remembered Dawson's twitter posts about pills... he shook his head. "Dawson, please don't run into a rock or somethin'. Your head's hard, but it ain't that hard," he called out. Although he recognized that Dawson's joke should have been funny, he didn't laugh. If he'd tried it would've been forced and fake anyway. Then Oliver wound his way over. "You look a little green, Oliver - you okay?" He absently tied his hair back. "Mmm, a bit. Be a bit longer, too, I guess. C'mon." But he was grateful for the work. It was good to see friends, but better to be working. Horace picked out a tomb entrance, lighting a match to see if there were any air currents. He frowned as it didn't really flicker, but still, he heard.... a meow? Heaving his shoulder into the door, he forced his way in. Minutes later, Horace would emerge, a tiny brown tabby perched on his shoulder (he steadied it with one hand). Horace looked over to Dawson and Oliver. "I found a cat," he said blandly. "How'd y'all fare?"

To say she wasn't impressed when they arrived on the other side of the portal would be an understatement. As Momo glanced at their surroundings and the ruins she gave a low whistle of appreciation. The Mist had never been to a place like this. It felt so.... Old. It was nothing like the bustling city of Chicago that was for sure. But she got this creep vibe from it too. A tap on her shoulder snapped her to attention as a man with a large sun hat and camera briefly asked her how he could get back to Olu Deniz. She'd never heard of the place so politely told him such and that she couldn't help him. He scurried off with a shrug.

So cool! Clyde stared up at the ruins. Ok for all the time stuck on the island he was starting to like this job. Upon arrival Clyde took a few minutes to just take everything in. Then he gave Oliver a thumbs up. "I'm going on ahead alright?" Oliver seemed like a good guy. Clyde decided he liked him. Though he might have also decided he would keep an eye out for Oliver too, just in case. Clyde took off, not one to sit still long and started to explore the rocks. Ok all he found was a pile of rocks but that was fine. He climbed up them looking around. kuuropii not siting still. but over here now.

Oh wow! It was so sunny and nice and Mimi had a feeling today was going to be a very good day~ She listened with rapt attention as Sherry explained the surrounding to them, head turning at where the hunter mentioned they would be exploring. It made her wonder if Sherry had been a tour guide before. Surely she was. After all, she was so smart and pretty and awesome.
She couldn't wait to get started, and ran toward the first opening she saw. It didn't help that she couldn't remember exactly WHAT they were looking for (not even five minutes after Sherry explained...), and found herself fascinated by some tiny rocks. Tiny colorful rocks, oooh~Quote: 18 -This tomb houses an odd collection of pebbles. They are arranged neatly by size and color.

Sherry tried her very best to keep an eye on everyone...while she poked around, too. It was harder than she'd anticipated. EVERYONE HI ILU ALL In about 24 hrs I think I might dump everyone into a dark pit of darkness. That is all. Carry on.

Horace wandered towards another tomb - exploring meant hitting everything quickly, efficiently, The cat was let go, as it really was not efficient. But, as he approached, he was stopped. The sunhat, the camera, the awful Hawaii'an print shirt: it was a tourist. (Not that Hawaii'an print was awful, it could be worn well, but not with plaid shorts - even Horace knew that.) He shot her a disdainful look, which she apparently took to mean 'please repeat your question'. "Ne parle pas anglais." He said in a deapan voice accompanied by a massive shrug. The tourist narrowed her eyes and repeated her question - in broken Spanish. Horace felt his patience wear thin. Very slowly, like he was speaking to someone he hated and who was rather dumb, he spoke again. "Ne parle pas anglais. Ne parle pas espagnol. Va t'en." And then he pointedly turned his back on her. Who knew his rudimentary French would come in handy one day? Quote: 10 -Someone with a sun hat and a huge camera stops you. "Excuse me," they say. "But can you tell me how to get back to Olu Deniz?"

Oliver followed Horace for a little bit, pausing to look in an adjacent tomb. It was small, and looked not very frightening. Easy peasy. There was not much inside, just the same, still darkness that safely parted under the beam of his flashlight. He caught sight of something, and when he pulled it out and brushed off the dirt, it had a name on it. Stepping back outside, Oliver took great care to open the envelope and peek inside. It was very old, but when he unfolded the letter inside and gave it quick glance, he put one hand over his mouth and his cheeks turned a rather bright shade of pink. Quote: 9 -This tomb is small.
