It was Sunday, her day off from her work. It was Sunday, her day off from her work.Angelina usually worked from Monday to Saturday (Including saturday),she was working at night and slept at the day because that's how the bar worked.Just like any Sunday,Angelina got off her bed to start her day.She made herself a cup of hot coffee and a warmed a small muffin, deciding not to eat much because she would be meeting with her friend later at the mall.
As soon as she was done with her small breakfast,Angelina went back to her room to change clothes and go outside. It took her a few long moments to find the right outfit to go out. She wore a blue denim buttoned up shirt,a pair of high waisted black skinny jeans and a pair of flat black shoes. Her short hair was clipped up with a big clip, giving it a bit of a messy yet styled look.Once she was dressed, she grabbed her small side bag and placed all of the things she needed, phone, keys, wallet and a few more things.
Her small apartment was actually close to the mall, fifteen minutes walk and she would be there. at 11:00 AM Angelina decided to walk out of her apartment. She locked the door and went down the stairs before she exited to the street, people were already walking around. It took her fifteen minutes to arrive the mall, she called her friend to know if she was already in the mall but she wasn't. Like always her friend was late. While her friend was on her way to the mall,Angelina decided to take a stroll in the mall and check the stores around, maybe she could find something pretty for herself.

This morning Garrett had a rude little awakening from his four and a half year old daughter Gracie. "Daddy. Daddy wake up!" Gracie was tugging her father's blankets away from him. She knew what today was, Sunday. Garrett had promised little Gracie he would take her to the mall to buy her a bear from build a bear workshop. She had been looking forward to this day all week. "Daaaaaddyyyy!" Gracie pulled her little body up onto Garrett's bed then put her tiny hands on his cheeks, pressing them together to make Garrett look like a fish. "Gracie. I'm up... I'm up." Garrett responded as best as he could with his cheeks being squished together. Gracie's face lit up and she started to giggle and jump around on the empty side of the bed. Garrett turned to look at her, while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He couldn't help but smile. Gracie was the love of his life, and the bane of his existence.
"Come on daddy!" Gracie screamed. Garrett flinched at the sound of her high pitched voice so early in the morning, but she ended up darting out of his bedroom. Garrett sat up with a yawn followed by a stretch. Even though Garrett loved Gracie, one thing he didn't love was the way she woke him up in the morning when she was overly excited. Garrett was a night owl. Eventually he made his way out of his warm bed and found a white t-shirt. He slipped that on along with some dark wash jeans. He decided to skip his shower this morning. He knew Gracie would become impatient with him. He found his maroon colored beanie and took that with him to the bathroom where he brushed his teeth, and hair, then slipped it on over his nicely brushed hair.
When he entered the hallway Gracie was there swinging back and forth from her door. "Ahh, come on Gracie. You can't wear your pj's to the mall now can you?" Gracie giggled then skipped into her room along with Garrett. He searched her closet for something and found a little pink dress. "Here. You like pink." Gracie rolled her eyes. "Not today daddy. My new favorite color is yellow!" Garrett laughed softly to himself then put the pink dress back in the closet. Instead he pulled out her yellow blouse and some blue pants. "Better?" Gracie nodded. Garrett left the room to let her change on her own. She liked doing things for herself, she had this independent quality about here. "Don't forget to brush your teeth, and floss Gracie." Gracie responded with a muffled "Mmhm" from behind the door.
When Garrett went downstairs he made them both a quick breakfast of eggs and toast. They quickly ate together before getting in the car and going to the mall. On the drive there Gracie took pictures of herself with Garrett's camera for what seemed like the whole way there. When they got there he explained to her that he'd have to leave the camera in the car this time which made Gracie a little upset, but then her excitement returned when she saw the mall in the distance. "Now let's go make that bear." Garrett said while locking the car door. Gracie was already dashing towards the mall, using the sidewalk like her father always told her. Garrett followed not too far behind her.

The ringtone of "Wannabe" By Spice-Girls started to play loudly, the music was coming from her phone and Angelina instantly knew who it was. Her best friend, that song was their theme song.Angelina tucked her hand into her bag, moving her hand around to find her phone that was laying between her stuff. Eventually her hand wrapped around her phone and she pulled it out, sliding her phone to answer the call."Ang,where are you?" Her friend asked through the phone."On the first floor, near American Eagle." Angelina said as she turned her head to the sides to search for her friend."I'm coming."
Five minutes didn't pass before her friend walked behind her and pounced on her with a warm welcoming hug, causing Angelina to jump slightly because she wasn't expecting it."Hey!" Angelina called happily, turning around to hug her friend."Finaly we were able to meet." She said as she pulled away from the hug and noticed her friend's son,Mark."Hey there, little guy." Angelina bent down to hug him and ruffle his."I got caught up because of work and family, but I'm glad we could finally meet." Angelina nodded her head, her friend was very mature compared to her,at least her personality was mature. Kelly was working as a secretary, she had a loving husband and an adorable little boy. It's like they were the perfect family.Sometimes Angelina could feel a little jealous because her friend was able to do so much yet she was still stuck as a bartender at night.
"Come on, let's go." The three of them walked to their favorite coffee store,it had tables inside and outside so they decided to sit outside and chat. Angelina ordered herself a medium cup of coffee and a Salmon Sandwich. The women chatted with each other, they spoke about the changes that happened to them, work, fashion and stuff like that. Angelina was definitely enjoying herself.

Garrett and Gracie were making good timing around the store. They stopped inside the candy store and Garrett bought her a bag of candy, although he kept it with him so she didn't eat too much sugar at once. He also bought her a new dress from GAP. Eventually they made it to Build a Bear Workshop and Gracie dashed into the store. "I can pick out anything I want daddy!?" She asked, while jumping up and down with her hands on the displays. Garrett chuckled then pried her little hands off the glass. "Yes Gracie. But please, show some manners okay?" She nodded pleasantly then went to the first station where she could pick out a bear. She asked for her father's help in choosing. They both decided the little panda bear that was pink and white would be adorable for her. Next she chose a little sound box, then a heart. She had Garrett stuff it for her then she picked out some cute little clothes, and printed the Build a Bear birth certificate. She decided to name the bear Bubba. Gracie already loved the little thing, she couldn't even let go of it to put it in the Build a Bear carrier. Garrett asked the attendant if she could just hold it and the lady laughed and said it was fine.
"Gracie, go wait on one of those bean bags with Bubba." Garrett said while pointing towards the waiting area inside the store. "Daddy is going to go pay, then we can get lunch." Gracie nodded then Garrett kissed the top of her head before going to wait in the super long line. He had 12 other parents in front of him. Garrett watched Gracie for a little while until he started checking his emails on his phone. He usually got a lot of them since he was both employed by TIME magazine, and self employed. Of course he had a ton of spam mail, but he did have some important emails about photographs they were looking for on different articles. He also had a personal inquiry about photographing a wedding.
Gracie on the other hand was playing with Bubba, waiting patiently like her father said, until her eyes caught sight of a service dog outside the store. "Oh my gosh a dog!" She said to herself in awe. She'd never seen a dog inside the mall before, and this one had a cute little vest on! She quickly stood up. "Wait here Bubba, or else daddy might worry." She placed Bubba on the beanbag then darted out the store in the direction of the service dog. "Hey! Can I pet your dog!" She called. The lady with the service dog was already going up one elevator, and little Gracie didn't know that the woman was deaf. "Hey!" She called again, this time she ran away from the Build a Bear and towards the elevator.
Not too soon after Gracie left the store Garrett noticed she was gone. "Gracie?" He called. He put his phone back in his pocket then looked around. He saw Bubba just sitting there on the beanbag alone. "Gracie!" He called a bit louder while peering through the ocean of kids, but his little girl wasn't in there. The parents in line were also starting to stare at him. He pulled a two twenties out of his wallet then pushed himself to the front of the line. A whole bunch of parents scoffed, and one even cussed at him. He was able to get to the register and put the twenties on the counter. "Here. This should cover it." The cashier looked confused, she hadn't even finished her previous transaction, but Garrett had already left the store grabbing Bubba on his way out. He looked to the left then the right, and didn't see Gracie anywhere. "Gracie!" He called again. Then he looked around for the closest mall security booth.

"You're still working in that club? Are you even going to quit someday and get a better job?" Kelly asked with a worried look on her face, she was worried about Angelina. The woman was 23 years old yet she still couldn't get a decent job and have a serious relationship. Angelina glanced away before shrugging her shoulders lightly. "I'm saving my money for now but I like this job,I mean I'm good at what I'm doing, the payment is a little low but it's fine for me."
There was a moment of silence between them before the two switched the subject.Maybe others would complain but it was enough for Angelina, she had everything she wanted. A small apartment, that was perfect for a single person. A nice job with good conditions,a salary that was enough for everything. If she would've lived with another person, she'd probably struggle. But living like this by herself was easy.
Soon the waitress arrived and placed their meals on the table, Angelina thanked the waitress before she started to drink the hot coffee. As she ate her sandwich,Angelina spotted a small girl wandering around all by herself. The girl was pretty little to just wander around all alone, where are her parents? Her bright eyes followed after the girl,to see if her parents were around but no one was paying her attention. "Kell,I think she's lost.." She mumbled quietly, getting up."I will be back soon." She excused herself before walking towards the girl.
Once she was close to the small girl,Angelina tapped on the small girl's shoulder."Hey little one." She showed a small smile to not scare her."Are you lost?" She questioned, crouching down to look at the girl's face."Where are your parents?" Angelina was a little worry, she couldn't just leave the small girl all by herself. It wasn't safe for little kids to wander around the mall alone. She had to find her parents.

When someone tapped Gracie's shoulder she flinched and pulled her arms into her chest. She turned around, and was met with a pretty blonde lady. Her father always told her not to talk to strangers, even women, but her father also told her to never go where he couldn't see her. I guess she was just being a rule breaker today. "Umm.. No. My daddy is in the build a bear shop." She mumbled very faintly from under a poked out lip. Gracie looked back the way she came then back at the lady. "And it's not parentsssss." Gracie added emphasis to her "s" then crossed her arms. "It's just parent. s'es are for more than one." There was a hint of a smile. Gracie loved to read and write with her father. She took a lot of pride in knowing good grammar.
Meanwhile, as Gracie was talking to Angelina, Garrett had found a security booth. He rushed up, then started impatiently patting his hand on the counter. "Hey, hey, hey!" He tried getting one of the cops attention. There was two of them both chatting it up and laughing over cups of coffee. One of the cops didn't turn around until he heard the last "hey". It was some young, skinny guy with glasses who looked like this was his first day on the job. The other was an older fat guy who probably thought he didn't get paid enough for his job. "Yeah?" the young one finally replied to him. "My daughter. I think... I mean, I lost her. She's somewhere in the mall and I don't know where." Garrett was fumbling around with his words because he was so anxious. The fat cop nodded. "Yep. That would mean ya lost her." He said while sitting up in his chair. Garrett just furrowed his brow. Where these people serious? "I... Yeah. What do I need to do?" He asked impatiently. The young cop just nervously shook his head then looked at his supervisor. "First off. Watch your kid." Garrett's confused look turned into that of anger. He laughed to himself then looked at the fat one. "Excuse me?" The guard simply rolled his eyes then pulled his radio up to his mouth that was littered with crumbs from his lunch. "Hey. Yeah. I got a 412 missing little girl." The cop looked over at Garrett after he listened to a short reply. "What's her age, and name?" Garrett quickly responded, "Gracie. And she's four and a half." The cop raised a brow then lifted the radio again. "Gracie. Five." He muttered. Then he started shooing Garrett. "Go wait by the main security office. It's in the front." Garrett nodded, but honestly he wanted to punch the guy. What an inconsiderate a*****e, then again, this guy probably had to make calls about lost kids all day long.
Garrett made it to the front of the mall pretty quick. There was a room off to the side that had a "Mall Security" sign. Once inside they told him to wait in the waiting room while they made an intercom call. The lady in this room was much nicer. "We'll find her for ya. Don't worry." She said with a smile as Garrett sat down. After speaking to Garrett she went to a radio at the desk and made an intercom call that the whole mall could hear. "Attention, attention. Gracie Anderson, your party is waiting for you at mall security. I repeat Gracie Anderson, your party is waiting for you at mall security." She hung up the intercom mic then went back over to Garrett. "We have staff outside the build a bear just in case she goes back, we also have one guard out looking for her alright? No worries."

Angelina looked at the small girl, nodding her head as she listened to the girl. When the girl corrected her,Angelina raised her eyebrows in response. So the little girl only had a father, why didn't he watch over her? "I'm sorry,my bad." The tips of her lips curled upwards as she stood back up,reaching her hand to the little girl."You should return to your father right now,it's not safe to wander around."Angelina spoke as her hand wrapped around the girl's small hand gently."Your father must be worried about you."
The two walked together towards the store but Angelina stopped when she heard the intercom call."Gracie Anderson, your party is waiting for you at mall security." There was a parent waiting for a lost kid in the mall security,Angelina could tell that he lost his daughter so maybe the little girl was actually Gracie. She lowered her head to look down at the little girl."Is your name Gracie Anderson?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows slightly. As soon as the little girl answered the question, the two turned their direction to the opposite way ad walked towards the mall security.
It only took them a few minutes to arrive the mall security yet Angelina didn't let go of the girl's hand. She just didn't want her to get lost again."Next time stay very close to your dad,ok?" She smiled again at the girl before entering into the security room together with the girl."Excuse me," She spoke to the woman who was wearing security uniforms."I found a lost girl, her name is Gracie Anderson." Angelina spoke as she looked down at the little girl.
