Gregor was for once enjoying some quiet and peace in his little lake abode. Those silly stallions and such that talk so loud were gone for the time being and Gregor had just taken in a great deal of air before diving beneath the waters. He intended to kick his feet up and relax for the afternoon - to sleep with the fishes and enjoy the comfort of the tepid water, cozy under the afternoon sun. In fact the stallion could hardly see how any of these plans could go wrong.

Akis made her way to the water edge. She'd heard that this was a popular watering hole, but it seemed empty enough at the moment. Deciding to enjoy the peace while she could, she dipped her head to sample the water. A few drinks proved why it was such a popular watering hole.

Gregor looked up as he heard the the sounds of someone drinking from his waters. Hmmm, could it be the silly stallions once more? he wondered using his tail to propel him up slightly to gain a better sight of situation. He tilted his head seeing it was not the stallions but perhaps the mythical mare all were seeking. She had most serious face about her and seemed to need the quiet almost as much as Gregor.

Akis paused in her drinking when she noticed something moving in the water. It was a bit far down, so perhaps just her imagination... though that bright color seemed unusual for the darker, more muted colors of the pond. She tilted her head, studying it as she tried to make out some better details.

"And the lady is much more observant than others who have stood in that spot," Gregor noted looking up at the mare with a bit more interest since she seemed to have caught sight of him. He really wasn't too sure what to make of her but remained confident and calm in the depths of his pool. After all, most soquili could not hold their breath long enough to reach his depth and even if they could would not be able to see well under the water.

Akis knelt at the edge of the water, keeping her eyes on the odd fish. It occurred to her that it could be bigger than it looked. She really couldn't see how far down it was. It also occurred to her to wonder if it tasted any good. She wasn't a big fish eater, but there were a few that she simply couldn't resist.

"Hmmm," Gregor mused to himself. "Girl is still looking. Must be most curious girl. They say in old country that curiosity kill cat, lucky I am dragon and eel." He chuckled to himself at that.

She frowned and pacesd back a couple stps. To dive or not to dive? Was she that curious? She could practically hear her father asking, what if it has sharp fangs and claws? As it would have, if he had been there, the possiblity only increased her curiousity. "Guess I'm going swimming," she grinned to herself before easing her way into the water.

"Oh," Gregor tilted his head back the other way. "Seems girl is most serious. Gregor must not disappoint then. Is most horrible manners to disappoint pretty girl." He propelled himself forward with grace and easy and flashed most winning grin as he approached the girl. "Good day! Is lovely time for swimming in lake, no?"

Akis hadn't made it far into the water when she realized the fish was getting bigger. Was that... why, yes, yes it was! A soq! A mighty strange looking one, but a soq nonetheless! She cocked her head to the side as he called out to her in the most adorable of accents. "It's a lovely lake to swim in... though, I'm a little disappointed. I thought you were a fish," she informed him, rather cheerfully.

"But Gregor is part fish," he said flipping his tail emphatically. "Eel to be specific." he laughed heartily and spread his wings to steady himself in the water. "You are part eel fish too, Gregor sees. Tail is most helpful for power swimming, don't you think?"

"Oh, very," she grinned, showing off her sharp fangs. "Though I always though myself a little more... um... shark-y than eel-y. I've never seen fins quite like these before," she noted as she swam a half circle around him, admiring his wings. "They're actually very lovely."

"Oh, you make Gregor blush!" the stallion grinned. "These are dragon wings, Gregor is from long line of dragon eel warriors. Once a long time ago, before the seas were even blue - a mighty war ravaged the lands, seas, and skies. But two fearsome fighters - a mermaid assassin and a dragon hessian met on the battle field. There they fought for days, with neither able to gain purchase over the other because though each could tame their elements of the sea and air to their bidding, neither would compromise their honor to take such underhanded actions. So then after five grueling days of battle they finally realized that they were equals and decided to come together in an embrace of love, which is always much better than war. From them came a slew of warriors of many skills who rules both the sea and skies - but after some time ruling because tedious and some opted for a more simpler life. It was for them that Gregor came - with wings that once sailed the skies in generations past, though Gregor much prefer the seas. They are both strong and mysterious, like Gregor."

Akis listened to his story with a broad smile and an admiring coo. "That is quite the tale," she told him, admiringly. She didn't really believe a word of it, but it was still quite a good tale. She considered for a moment letting him get away with it, but couldn't quite stop herself from asking, "How much of it is true?"
