Adrastos sighed as he waded into the lake, carefully navigating through the loose rocks beneath his hooves in an attempt to remain upright. He had lost his footing in this place more than once, and he was damned if it was going to happen today. Though he was bathing, he was uninterested in going a** over tea kettle. It was nice out, but the water wasn't THAT warm. He gasped as the water hit his chest and his underside. You'd think that things would have warmed up by now, but no such luck. Sucking it up, he forced himself deeper into the water, lapping at it absent mindedly as he did so. Jesus, how was it still SO cold?! The wind must have been quite the spectacle, his face twisted to an obscene expression of discomfort and regret.

Dotty McFearsome watched the stallion from a distance. Oh, yes. Him. She recognized him all too well, unfortunately, as he was a part of the herd that took her in and raised her when her parents abandoned her. The unicorn mare was never overly fond of the big oaf, but he was certainly good for a bit of entertainment every now and then. She stood silently on the edge of the water, continuing to spy as he made his way into the lake. He always did this thing with his tongue when he was trying to focus. She never quite understood the point, but it looked silly enough for her to pay attention. Secretly, she hoped he would topple over and get flustered like he always did, but it looked as if he may actually be in the clear this time. What a pity, that could have been fun.

When he finally reached a point where he felt comfortable, Adrastos sighed in relief. He remained still for a few moments, his legs trembling while they got used to the chill of the lake. Now for the tough part. He clenched his teeth as he dipped a wing into the water, the cloud of dust dispersing within it reassuring him that it simply needed to be done. The stallion shook it within the liquid a few times before stretching it above the surface, inspecting its new sheen. He chuckled. It seemed as if he had almost forgotten what it felt like to be clean. The spring and winter months were difficult for him. He disliked the cold, and truly wasn't a fan of bathing when he didn't have to. He moved on to the other wing, once again inspecting it before and after its wash. This only meant one thing, however, and he really didn't like this idea. He shook his head, took a sharp breath, and let himself fall into the water. He thrashed about for a few moments, trying to ensure his mane and face got as thoroughly cleaned as possible.

Aaaaand there it was. Dotty laughed nearly uncontrollably while watching her herd mate, his thrashing utterly priceless. Did his father never teach him how to wash himself?! She knew that Phae wasn't quite all there when it came to the intelligence aspect of things, but she at least expected better of Nivuxys. Well, until now, that is. She howled from the water's edge, unable to catch her breath. It did not matter that Adrastos would likely surface startled and confused, but she didn't care. As far as she was concerned, that actually added quite a bit to the charm of the whole situation. Oh, what an oaf! If only she could share this moment with the world! They'd all laugh in harmony as they watched him make an utter fool of himself.
