This land, called Fayley, was one of the most diverse cities in the world for magical races. Although his family never had much money, but his parents did everything they could to keep food on the table. His father worked odd jobs, mostly construction and manual labor, while his mother took on custodial work in the city's largest businesses. When he insisted on getting a job at age 10, his parents insisted that he stay in school and focus on the future instead.
Then, just a few years later, a sickness swept through Fayley, claiming several hundred lives, including Peyton's own sisters. His parents had also fallen ill and lost their jobs, driving Peyton to desperation. He joined a gang, doing whatever it took to bring in enough money for medicine. Within weeks, he had saved his mother and father, but it had cost him his innocence and in a way, his freedom.
After several years of theivery and scams, Peyton had enough money to send his parents somewhere safe, a place where they could retire. Once they were gone, he ran. There was no such thing as quitting a gang, especially not the one he had spent so much time apart of. So when he fled, Peyton never looked back until he found Janhall. He got a job working in the local frozen yogurt shop, sending money to his parents as often as he could spare. They worried for him, he knew, but with his determination and cunning, he would always manage to overcome all odds.
After finally turning life around, he now works on meeting new, kind people every day. He's gone back to school, and by doing so, he hopes to live a normal life and finally find the stability and security he never had.
