Naomi lived with her older sister in Traverse Town after her parents passed away. She was always kind to others and did what she could to help out at home. Her sister would always tell her stories of the Keyblade Wielders, and each night Naomi would go to bed and dream that she too could fight darkness. When she was fifteen, Naomi was out playing with some friends when a small black creature showed up. They tried to throw rocks at it, but it had no effect. Naomi jumped in front of it to protect her friends, when all of a sudden this mysterious weapon appeared in her hands. With it, Naomi was able to take down the small creature.
A hooded figure approached Naomi that night while she was walking home. He told her how he was impressed by her bravery, and that if she wanted, she could go with him and learn all she needed. At first, she was quite interested, but then turned down the offer. Something had felt "off" about the man, and she could not trust him. The thought of power sat in her mind, but she repressed her ambitions and headed home. She received a letter from the Academy a couple days later and decided to go to help her learn all she need to.
Now in her third year, Naomi still has lingering thoughts about the black hooded man. While she believes in the path of light, there is still a swelling darkness somewhere deep inside of her.
