Well met, Wastlanders!
I am going to get right down to the point, I would like to start a roleplay set in the fallout universe and I would love to get some input on this topic. I would like to do an original story that is in the style of fallout but perhaps not in the capitol wastes, new vegas, or boston, or any of the settings of the interplay games.
I want to see your input for
-Setting
-Factions
-Story Elements
-Weapons
-anything else that might help make for an engaging and fun roleplay
So please, fill this thread with your suggestions so we might start talks of a great rp |

I was thinking it would be cool to explore all that happened over in China, but to keep things closer to 'Murica, I personally think the Louisiana/New Orleans area would be a fun place to explore, complete with mutated alligators and other creatures from the swamps.

It would be fun to go around grave robbing some of the tombs and crypts and stuff, and to hear some of the jazz classics playing on the Pip-Boy. And there would be all kinds of old bars to explore and set up shop/residence. For factions, I could see the Brotherhood of Steel having a base down there somewhere, along with a rag tag militia of some sort and a third faction to balance things out.

Ooh, pretty images!! This is gonna be a fun RP. *^* I really like the thought of exploring the musical cities. I think St. Louis or Branson would be fun, or maybe go exploring Nashville in my home state. I think New Orleans is one a lot of people would like, though.Big city, lots of culture, plenty of places to explore, etc.

Hello, Turtle is going to through in her 2 cents on this conversation!
The setting is perfect! Great idea Hunt! I love it. All of it. I've always been in love with New Orleans. I could see a lot of traffic coming though a Fallout universe New Orleans though. It's right on the coast making trade easier with other areas. Plus I could see places like whore houses and old jazz clubs being safe havens.

Thank you, Turtle! As long as I can loot myself a top hat somewhere in NOLA, I'll be happy. It would be fun to terrorize the surviving citizens and make them think I'm the Voodoo King or something. I'm still trying to think of what the main story line would be about and what factions would be involved, helping or hindering you through your progress.

Le gasp! idea That gives me an idea! Instead of the Kings we could have The Voodoo Daddies or something like that, made up completely of ghouls and/or supermutants! They could either be actual voodoo practitioners, or considering the Kings really didn't understand who they where worshipping, simply adapt to the "voodoo look" thinking it was some sort of culture used to scare and/or intimidate other people. Something dark and showy, like the way Hollywood portrays voodoo or Satanists.They would, of course, be a "gang" and could be enemies or allies depending which way we could develop them. I'm still working on the details but that's what I've come up with so far. I know I'm totally stealing my idea from the Kings but I couldn't help it. What do y'all think?

I had thought of something to similar to that, with a school of people worshiping one of the great jazz legends, but I like the sound of your idea better. That would be fun, and I imagine the rewards would be interesting.

Mmmmm....I won't lie, I'm a little uncomfortable with the thought of the KKK but that being said there may be some potential for tweaking. Instead of being whites only, it could be something else.You know, give it the fallout universe treatment? Unless I'm stating the obvious and that's what you where planing. Or...idk. Where are you going with this??

I kind of like that idea, but like Turtle said, it could be tweaked a little bit. First idea that comes to mind is a faction that hunts and kills only ghouls, whether they're feral or friendly, but it would be a small cult kind of thing instead of a big organization like the Enclave in Fallout 3.
Or you could reverse it and have an all ghoul faction that kills only humans. Or both. Would make for a nice series of side quest with the possibility of a miniature war between the two factions, with the winners being whoever you side with. You could draw inspiration from Skyrim and have it be like the Legion vs. Stormcloak war, with members of each side attacking key points of the opposing faction.
