Hyperborea had been out on patrol for the better part of an hour. It had been uneventful so far however a aura she felt changed that. It was an aura type she had only felt once. The horrible combination of a General's aura and a Youma's aura. Another poor soul like Merlinite. Punished for trying to escape the Negaverse or possibly some other offense. She decided to follow the aura in case the person needed any help.

When she found the owner of the aura she recoiled slightly. The woman looked like an actual demon. Don't judge a book by it' cover that was the mistake you made with Mer. She reminded herself.

She approached the demonic woman in red.

It was a quiet night... the kind of night that made Cinnabar feel restless. The citadel was quiet, if she had wanted quiet she would have stayed there, lounging on her large bed with its dark, silky sheets.

Pacing along the edge of a roof, the half-youma tucked her hands deep into the pockets of her new coat and savored the fact that she could do so, at long last. The lack of pockets on her uniform has been an annoyance all her career. To have them now felt like the cherry on top of her reward. A couple rounded shapes met her fingers and she rolled the energy balls around in idle play. No more need to stick them down the front of her corset, which she couldn't do any more anyway... not when it split down the front almost to her navel.

The sticky sweetness of an order aura tickled at the General's senses and she paused in her walk, turning lightly on her heel to glance behind her. It was coming closer, getting stronger as it approached. Mmm... Knight. Squire. Did you come to play with the cat, little mouse? Someone needed instruction on assessing their opponents, it seemed. And wouldn't you know... Cinnabar was available.

She let the signature approach, since whomever it was seemed inclined. It was unlikely any squire was a real danger to her all on their own. There was no need to hide or ambush... better maybe to see what they wanted first before she made a decision what to do with them. The gently shining figure in white and rainbow that appeared was obviously a Cosmos knight, like the Glowbug they'd lost after the New Years event.

"Hello, Pretty." Cinnabar murmured as she stood relaxed, only her tail showing energy as it swung back and forth behind her. "Are you looking for someone?"

Hyperborea felt a little uncomfortable approaching the half youma. The way the woman was looking at her reminded of some predator sizing up it's prey. Hyperborea blushed a bit at being called pretty but she didn't feel like it was a genuine compliment more just that she looked like a good piece of meet to this person. A part of her was telling her to summon her weapon, that this woman was dangerous but she had to make sure.

"I...I just wanted to see if you needed any help." She managed to say under the
stare of the youma woman. "I met someone like you once, I wanted to make sure you weren't in the same situation he was."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 16, 2015 8:26 pm

"Help?"

Cin tilted her head, letting her face fall into mournful lines. "I... I do, but..."

What a strange and innocent little glow bug. Someone like her? A half youma? That was a curious thing. It begged the question who it was and what sort of situation he was in that a Cosmos Knight could help him. One came to mind immediately and had she not been playing the innocent card, she would have snarled in denial.

The Cosmos princess was known for taking officers from them through purification. If whomever that was had purified, this girl could be a valuable lead.

Cinnabar turned her face away, letting a frown curl her mouth as she nibbled on her full lower lip.

"I don't know if you can help me though... I don't think anyone can help me. You're going to get hurt, offering like that, you know." She ducked her head to hide her face, putting a quaver into her voice. "You're too kind... people will take advantage of that. Its not safe."

"This is a cruel punishment even for the negaverse. I'm sorry it happened to you." The suspicion she had melted and was replaced with pity for the poor woman.

"I have place you can stay if you need it." It was something she had been thinking about for a while now. Her home was empty and unused maybe she could turn it into a safe house for powered people.

She smile at the youma-woman's concern for her, it reminded her so much of merlinite. It was a sad state they both were in. "You don't have to worry about me I'm stronger than I look. And while I can't guarantee I can help, I can at least try. I know a royal knight, Camelot. I'll talk to him about you, if anyone can help you purify he can." She said kindly.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 02, 2015 7:16 pm

"You're so sweet." Cinnabar cooed as she lifted her head and reached out to run her fingers down the girl's cheek. Sweet and stupid. She'd offer all of that, naively believing the General was telling her the truth.

"Mmm... Camelot? I'll keep that name in mind. Its worth looking into. Now..."

The hand that had been stroking moved and Cinnabar's stance abruptly changed, going from soft and approachable to harsh and forceful. Her hand wrapped around the slender throat and her smile was fanged.

"I want you to answer a couple of questions for me... That someone you met, who was like me and needed help... who was that? This Camelot... where can I find him? I would very much like to meet your friends, they sound interesting." The half youma chuckled, her grip tight.

Merde! was all Hyperborea thought as clawed fingers tightened around her neck. Maybe I should have judged this book by it's cover. She thought as she desperately tried to pry the hand from her throat.

She felt her self getting light headed as she gave up trying to physically removed the clawed hand. She reached over to her ring hand and touched the smooth surface of the purple stone.

It was hard to focus with it getting harder and harder to breath but she cleared her mind and channeled the power of cosmos through her. As she was enveloped by the silvery starlight sheen she felt the youma general release her. She stumbled back and tried to catch her breath.

"You lied to me!" She said indignantly. She charged the general before she had time to attack again. Reflecting on it later it probably would have been smarter to have taken this opportunity to run, but Hyperborea was angry she hated being used and she hated feeling like a fool. Though admittedly even if the general hadn't used a more hard approach she wouldn't have answered those questions, she was careful with people's private information even around people she thought could become allies. She tackled the half youma general and delivered a swift punch across her face.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 04, 2015 5:59 pm

Suddenly, her hand began to burn, her skin feeling as though it were blistering and cracking as the squire in her grip began to glow with starlight. Cinnabar hissed and instinctively let go, cursing herself for the involuntary reaction.

The half youma jerked back, put distance between them in case the girl struck out at her, and shook the pain from her burned hand.

"Oh, get over it..." She laughed, dancing backwards as Hyperborea tried to attack her. Stupid girl. What do you think you'll accomplish like this? "Surely this isn't the first time someone has lied to you! I doubt it'll be the last."

Cinnabar lunged to meet her enemy, jerking her head out of the way of her punch and swinging a vicious backhand in return as she laughed. "You poor, deluded IDIOT."

Hyperborea cursed under her breath as her punch missed. The general was faster than her and clearly a competent fighter in her own right.

Her cheeks burned as the general mocked her. She next felt the general's back hand. It sent her reeling back, her cheek throbbing and bleeding from where the woman's claws scratched her.

She tried several more time to kick, punch, or even just get a hold on the half youma. But in terms of physical prowess she was just outmatched. So she fell back.

She deactivated her aspect and summoned her bow. This should slow her down. She thought as she pulled back on her bow string and the silver arrow of starlight appeared.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 05, 2015 6:36 pm

Sometimes the squire managed to land a hit, sometimes she didn't, but either way, she was not doing a whole lot of damage. It was laughable, really, and Cinnabar did.

The General's laughter was taunting as she swung hard, delivering her own blows, and for a bit she was content to tease Hype. At least, until the knight got the bright idea to pull a weapon on her. Cin's face twisted and before the girl could release that shining arrow, the half-youma disappeared. There, and then gone in a blink.

She reappeared in the same moment, pressed up close where she hopefully was least expecting it.

"Uh-ah..." Cinnabar chided, shoving a clawed hand forward. She felt it connect with the girl and then pass through the resistance. It was surprisingly easy, easier than it had ever been, and she sought out the glowing star in the small space. Her fingers curled, caging in that star.

"Its not nice to pull a weapon on an unarmed enemy. What sort of knight are you, hmm?"

Her fingers tightened, putting a little pressure on the starseed she held captured. "Now... redeem yourself, and answer my questions. Or, ya know... I'll rip out your starseed. Pretty simple."

Hyperborea's face was sore and bruised from where the general had struck her. She tried to focus her aim when the yoma woman suddenly vanished. Teleportation?! she thought as she frantically looked around for where the woman would reappear.

Merde! Was all she thought when the woman appeared right in front of her and shoved her hand into Hyperborea's chest. Hyperborea dropped her bow and both hand immediately latched onto the general's wrist to try and pry her hand from her starseed with what ever strength she could muster, which wasn't much considering that she felt her strength fading by the second.

When the woman began to mockingly question her honor as a knight, Hyperborea felt her blood boil.

"Ferme ta gueule! Va te faire enculer, salope! T'es rien qu'un petit connard!" She yelled back in retaliation, switching to French in her anger. She even went so far as to spit in the half yoma's face.

She let out a scream of agony as the woman's hand tightened around her starseed.

The aura conflict of a General and a Squire would always be something that sent Penthe in the direction of where she could feel them.

A very familiar, very young voice swearing loudly in French? That made the Senshi of War run, heels clicking against the hard asphalt. (After having them for so long, she had gotten used to that compensation. It no longer felt anything but natural.)

Once she could see what was going on, she started sizing up the situation. They were too close for her to risk her regular magic - not with this monster's hand in Hyperborea's chest.

(Under other circumstances, were she meeting the woman one on one, Penthe might have taken time to appreciate how very much of a woman the General threatening her protege was. But, no, time and place.)

There was only one choice, really, and so the Transcendent Eternal closed in, hard and fast, calling her Eternal attack as she ran.

"Penthesilea Song of War!"

The blade glowed between her hands, and she drove it into the ground in front of her.

There was a flash of red, and her magic took hold.

wow this is a really detailed attack! have fun
Sailor Penthesilea raises her hands above her head, hands closed into fists and wrists crossed, and they glow red. She turns and begins to say the name of her attack, bringing her hands down, and upon the last word, stops, and a large broadsword made of red energy appears in her hands. She stabs it into the ground, and a barrier of red energy flies up at a radius of five feet. Everyone inside - allies, enemies, and Penthesilea included - is caught up in a vision of a war long past - any one that occurred earlier than 1000 AD - and any injuries experienced in the vision are reflected on their real bodies in lessened form (slashes become scratches, blunt or penetrating wounds are bruises, et cetera; there's a lot of room for player creativity in how the injuries translate and what the affected characters see!). Objectively the visions last for thirty seconds, but subjectively they can run for quite some time, and during the entire time frame, those experiencing the vision cannot move or react to the outside world - however, they are protected by Penthesilea's barrier. Penthesilea can use this attack twice per battle.

Hyperborea was very relieved to see Penthe rushing towards her. She hadn't felt her approaching but that was probably because she was focusing all of her attention trying to keep the general from pulling out her starseed. Once the senshi of war slammed a red sword into the grown Hyperborea felt herself being pulled away from pair.

She found herself on an open plain. The sun was sweltering overhead, and the air was thick. There was the strong smell of death in the air. As she looked around she could tell that she was not in DC any more. She saw two armies of men in bronze armor and tunics. With spears leveled the two forces charged one another, and Hyperborea realized she was in the path of their attack.

She summoned up all the energy she could muster and tried to dodge the spears that came her way. She noticed that most of the fighters looked human however she noticed some of them were clearly not. She recognized the soldiers towering over the rest, their stone like skin gave them away. They were her people, Hyperboreans.

The spears cut deep when they managed to slice into her. She was reminded of her first fight with Painite. Hyperborea wondered where the other two were in the mess of this fighting.

Getting spit at was annoying, but ultimately, nothing more than insulting. It was a childish tactic for the desperate and did nothing but tighten her grip around the starseed she held.

"Wrong choice, stupid girl." She hissed, pressing on the smooth, hard faucets of the starseed in her palm. It was lucky for that starseed and the girl it belonged to that help was not late in arriving. Cin heard the shout from behind her, and recognizing senshi magic, she pulled away from her prey and released her.

It wasn't fast enough though. Something was happening and before she could properly react...

Everywhere, dusty plains stretched as far as she could see. It was hot, arid, desert-like... but achingly familiar. She knew this place, though she couldn't put a name to it, or call up memories of having been here before. She shouldn't have known it, but it touched a place deep inside of her.

Clenching fists felt strange and she glanced down to see metal gauntlets wrapping her hands to elbows, lion heads snarling on the backs of her hands and knuckles crowned by squat spikes. They were familiar too, something remembered from memories that weren't true. Senshi magic... Order tricks.

I am not Tanais

There was a shout and she turned to see a great army spread behind her, armor shining in the sun as red banners whipped and snapped above their heads in a hot, dry wind. Her heart thrilled to see it, aching with a strange sense of belonging. Eyes dropped and there beside her loomed a man, dark against the brightness of the yellows and tans of the plains about them. He grinned at her and in that smile, she found a surge of desire and excitement, the adrenaline of battle filling her. She didn't know who he was, but he stood at her side, they all did, and she knew they would fight, and die, together, if it came to that.

Shouting came from her other side and she turned to find another army arrayed across the dry, grassy land, armored and weaponed to match the one she stood at the head of. She raised her fist to the sky and shouted, voices raised around her in eager battle cries. She lunged forward, her hulking shadow beside her, and the armies surged together, meeting with a class of thunder and shouts.

She fought like a wild animal, the man ever beside her, and she laughed as enemies fell under her onslaught. She fought until her arms grew heavy, her legs trembled and blood ran from cuts and slices all over her tanned skin, seeping down the side of her face to drip onto her golden armor with its symbol of Mars on the forehead of a lion. She fought until no one stood against her and she stumbled to a shaky, exhausted halt. A glance found her shadow, still beside her, looking as worn and bloodied as she felt. Their eyes met for a long moment before she grinned and he returned it, reaching to grab her by the hair and drag her into a kiss that burned from head to toe and back again...

Cinnabar jerked as the... vision or whatever it was faded, snapping out of the magic that had held her captive. A snarl curled across her face as a sound rolled from her throat; a growl like that of a beast, something no human throat should have been able to produce. Rage poured through her like molten lead, hot and thick. Something in her ached from the magic she had just undergone, but she refused to acknowledge it, refused to admit it was even there. That vision had been a lie... yet another trick by ******** Order. She took only a moment to imprint the look of the senshi who had arrived in her mind, assured she would not forget it, before the half youma wrenched herself out of existence and disappeared, leaving the two to whatever recovery they could manage.

Noir Songbird

Blood poured down over Hyperborea's eye from where a spear had managed to glance off her head. She fought as best she could, caught in between the two armies. If she had been at full strength she could have easily defended herself but her energy was drained from having the general's hand in her chest.

The fighting seemed to draw on for hours bodies fell onto the blood soaked ground all around her crushed and broken by spears. It was truly horrifying for Hyperborea. This was a true battle. This was a full scale war.

Through it all Hyperborea had managed to survive. The Hyperborean side was left standing with the entirety of the other nameless soldiers killed. It was then she noticed one Hyperborea that stood out from the rest. A tall man in an iridescent cloak. Hyperborea tried to scramble towards him desperate to know if he was the person she thought he was. However before she could reach him the scene before her disappeared.

She was back in Destiny City, she felt like she had cuts all over her body, they weren't too deep though not like the gashes she had had on the battle field. She looked around and saw the Senshi of War. "Penthe! You saved me! Merci... mon loup." She said to her older friend, blushing a little bit. The term of endearment felt right to use right now.
