A soft chuckle echoed in the empty and barely lit room as a dark figure huddled over a book in their lap, reading and giggling in the dim light of a lantern. Urania tried her hardest not to laugh at what passed for astronomy books these days as she sat on her desk at the front of the room. She had no one on her roster yet, so she was free to do as she pleased, and that meant laughing at the horribly overpriced and out of whack textbooks the school suggested she use.
Well... Suggested isn't the right word. They
told her to use it. Would she? Nah. It was horrible. The language was unnecessarily complex, the pictures weren't even the proper star or constellation, and the numbers were all off! Who in their right mind would teach this? Obviously, she wasn't.
Another flip of a page and another round of giggles at the stupidity that dared to be sold for more than a new computer. This class would be in for a treat... That is, if she has anyone this semester.
