[Sky Round 2] Qhude Chidambar x Awendela Kalisetsi

Qhude scraped the dirt with his claws in silence as he pondered his last win. It had been fairly easy but this was round two, and this was a whole different game. Everyone in this round was a winner. The other loins were coming off the thrill of victory, just like him. He had to stay calm, cool, and collected. Losing your mind in battle - even just a friendly spar among pridemates - was the kiss of death.

He looked up at his opponent and nodded in greeting, offering a little smile. "Good luck," he said, his voice soft but sincere as he sheathed his claws again. His tail gave a little flick and he tore forward, needing to start hard and finish hard. He wanted to bring good fortune to his family name and he hoped this might be the path that was chosen for him.

Awendela was convinced that her previous win was a fluke.

It had to be; there was no way she could have won an actual fight. As petite and introverted as she was, Awen just couldn't comprehend her victory. Still, she couldn't deny how good it had felt. Like she could take on the world! For once in her life she had felt a rush of adrenaline, and it was amazing.

Though it faded with the start of her next sparring match. She gulped and nodded her head meekly, "S-same to you." This one looked serious; maybe he wanted to win just as badly as she did! That would make things...difficult.

Squeaking in surprise at his rush attack, Awendela found herself with little time to respond. She took the hit, feeling the coming bruises to her already sore shoulder and responded in kind with a weaker attack of her own.

Qhude didn't let the fact that the female seemed shy deter him at all. He needed to make an intimidating first impression if he wanted to win. He did feel badly when she squeaked from his inital attack, her own barely leaving the sting of pain behind that he was sure his had. He retreated only enouh to put a bit of space between them and followed his inital hit with a swipe of his paw at her legs. His retreat definitely put a damper on the blow, though, barely catching his toes against her.

It left him open for a hit as well, but he hoped she'd be too nervous to retaliate. It would be a good indication of how this battle would go, that was for sure. He had to sacrifice a bit of his body if he wanted to know her style of fighting.
