It was a rough day.
Regal was working double duty, blasting into both dummies and insects that whizzed by his face, pretty much anything that wasn't human. Hay bales had sizzling holes in them, the ground was scorched around him. His face remained calm, a little sweaty, but his eyes -- oh how his eyes said otherwise. Hot steel, sparks flying as the hammer bent bronze into shape, sharpening and shaping.
Another dummy lost its head, and Lex sighed heavily. A more productive outlet would have been his work, more studying, more classwork. Yet here he was, destroying property with a partner he still sometimes resented.

"What in the hell.." Still-bespeckled Maebe had ducked down after watching Lex shoot to kill, and she was currently surveying a smouldering hay bale with a hole right through it. She put her arm through it, and felt the heat of the blast still simmering away. "Lexi, you've got some pent up aggression. There's an easy solution for that, that doesn't involve destroying everything around you." She stood back up, climbed over the hay bale, and hopped off of it a second before it collapsed within itself. She paused, looked back at where she could have fallen, and then turned with a weak grin. "I mean sparring, by the way. Not, uh." Her hand gestured lewdly. "I assume you're doing that on a semi-regular basis already. Keeps the pipes clean."

Oh for Christ's--
"Hello, Maebe." The man turned his head to see the bespectacled blonde nearly fall through one of his victimized hay bales.
Whoops.
Her gesture made him snort, Regal stuck into his waistband for the time being. "Well, I'd hope you wouldn't offer that in the first place--"
Not with how much undying devotion he'd spilled out to her a few weeks back. That day would live in infamy. "A spar would be better than shooting these innocent sacks, wouldn't it?"
He smiled, rolling his neck. Yes, a spar would do nicely.

"Hey. Hey. I wasn't offering. That's a self-medicating treatment, bozo. Keep your eyes on the road." She summoned Thaw out, and immediately used it to poke Lex playfully in the stomach. "I can pretty much assure you that the health of your prostate is not my responsibility." The trident was twirled expertly between her fingers, and she backed up just enough to be at distance. "So, you're just going to.. shoot me. That's what's going to happen here? I mean, have you ever tried to hit someone with the gun? Not that I'm suggesting you pistol whip me, sweetheart. I'm just trying to get a good grip on your method." She paused, and then bit her tongue to keep from laughing. "Heh. Good grip. The jokes just keep on coming today. Any minute I'm going to make some comment about you shooting your load, and request that you don't aim for my face. Oh. Wait. Just did!"

"Oh my actual God." Lex snorted, shaking his head with a legitimate chuckle. "You're worse than a Saudi Arabian in Vegas with his daddy's oil money, Maeb."
The gun leapt to his hands in a flash, aimed right at the blonde. "My method changes with the fight." He grinned coyly, narrowing his eyes. "Different strokes for different blokes, you could say?"

"That was a whole lot of qualifiers for one comparison, tough guy." She pointed out, instinctively taking a step back when the guns were pointed in her direction. She wasn't going to be able to dodge his attacks, but the least she could do was try to make a dent of her own. Close range was probably about to be her best friend; something she wasn't use to, with her trident. She gripped the handle with both hands this time, and readied herself. Her expression steeled, her eyes thinned, and she tensed for the attack. And then. She chuckled childishly. "You said strokes."

"Grow up." Lex chided in a singsong voice, making sure that Maebe knew he was just teasing. It was awful hard to communicate that sometimes.
He lined up his sighs and took a shot at the girl, minimally distracted by the fact that glasses were actually quite fetching on her. Then again, glasses were fetching on most women.
Lex may have some sort of librarian kink, as evidenced by his girlfriend, the librarian. "Strokes are a very important part of the process, y'know."

"NEVER." She screeched out, even as she pulled the trident wings up over her face to protect herself from the blow. She still felt the sting against her shield, but she knew this was the moment she needed to use, to strike. She was moving before Thaw was, her heels digging into the ground as she leapt forward towards him. She was in the air, mid-jump, when the trident sunk deep into his shield, skewering him like a piece of meat. She felt Thaw's powerful edges tear into him, and her expression was nothing short of satisfied. "You know what's more important than stroking, Lexi?" She muttered, waiting until she said the last word before twisting the trident hard. "Penetration."Quote: HP: 48 Damage: 11 Charge: 1/3

Lex just sort of stood there, starstruck, Thaw twisted up in his shield and his coat, lucky there was no actual trauma done. That would be a very bad mess.
"You coulda used some lube there, Maeb."

She touched back down on the ground after pulling Thaw out of him, and grinned up toothily. "Sorry. I'm a little rough. I don't have any lube, my ex stole the last of it from me. Was this your first time? I'll be more gentle." She tucked the trident prongs under his ribcage, and jabbed upward, with absolutely no hint of gentleness. "This is fun. We should do this more often!" She pulled the trident out, and took a few mischievous steps back, with her hands - and trident, as stupid as that was - behind her back. "The spar, I mean. Not the penetration." Lex coughed as Thaw went right through him, still stunned that a girl who'd just recovered her eyesight could be fighting this well, doing this much damage.
Maybe he was getting rusty; needed to keep the pipes cleaner. "Don't think the penetration would be too entertaining after a while. 'M not a fan of rough riding."
The opportunity presented itself, and Lex shot Maebe in the shoulder, hoping to get her to back up and give him some distance.

That hurt. Maebe stumbled back several steps, rubbing her shoulder where the pain began to throb despite the shield's physical protection. Suddenly, she really did not want to be shot by that gun anymore. There was something really startling about being shot by a projectile. It gave you no chance to flinch, to prepare for the pain. It was just fine - and then - not fine. She couldn't fight that kind of surprise. "Oh." Clearly, her feet weren't the only thing stumbling. She let her hand fall down, and crouched back into attack position. "That's disappointing. I guess it's probably for the best that you're taken, then." She wasn't desperate for pain anymore, but gentle love making had it's own set of disappointments. She felt a little bad for Ami, though - though there was always the chance that she liked it like that. But that's what boring people liked. Was Ami boring? She had no idea. "You should try it sometime. Who knows. Your girl may like it." She leapt forward, and the trident sunk into his side, pulling away with a quick stab. Quote: HP: 42 Damage: 7 Charge: 3/3

Lex hissed, ducking back after she pulled the trident out. The shield was a good pain number, but being gouged by a very pointy thing still hurt like a mother. "She'd probably slap me, in all honesty." Lex chuckled, somehow finding mirth in the fact that he was talking about his sex life with a woman who, a month ago, he'd called a trashy slut.
Oh how time (and wine) could change a person. And trauma. "Maybe that'd just make things a bit more intense, though." He smirked, firing off another round into Maebe's opposite shoulder. Work the arms, make her drop the weapon hopefully.

"That's sort of the point. So maybe." Well, that sounded hopeful. Maybe she'd just helped out a couple in need. Or maybe she'd done nothing at all. It was still always refreshing to have a conversation about sex. It was always nicer to talk about things you were good at. Things you had experience with. It gave silver linings to bad memories. "Just be careful. That might not be your bag. I mean, if she slaps you, is it going to turn you off? Because some guys hate losing control." Quote: HP: 37 Damage: 6 Charge: 3/3

"Oh, I do like my control." Lex grinned a s**t eating grin, a rarity these days. He thought back to three years ago, the games he was playing, the manipulating, the power he thought he held.
God, sometimes he missed it. There were just days he reveled in the memories of being so loose, so omnipresent in bedrooms and dark closets.
Commitment had its perks, but the same thing got boring after a while.
"Maybe something else."
