 Soco had been welcomed into a herd. For the first time he belonged some place! He was a messenger and he he loved it! He got to keep going out and seeing new places while doing his job for the herd when need be. He helped the gatherers when he was at home and had no errands to run. And today he had heard from a nice squirrel that there were some very ripe strawberries and roots up a hill by a lake just at the edge of their territory. He loved berries and was sure someone else in the herd would love them too as well as some nice yummy roots or tubers.
That sounded good!
He trotted up the hill and could smell the fresh water and sweet grass just around the top waiting for some nice young little usida to come nibble on it and take some back in his handy basket he had borrowed from one of the gatherers. Walking along he stopped when e found a fresh and wonderful patch of strawberries and set the basket down and began sniffing over them and picking the good ones off carefully and putting them in the basket.
Humming a little song as he worked he carelessly stopped paying attention to the things and events around him cause it was such a nice day and he e was rather enjoying himself.

Curse these puny fish.
Hissing in disgust and pinning her ears back, the 'feline' backed away from the water's edge. While she was in the mood for a snack, she wasn't about to waste her time pawing into the lake to try and swipe a silvery fish out of it. Too much of an irritation for her tastes, and she had no intentions of getting her fur all wet. Perhaps there will be better 'snacks' out and about in a nearby area.
With her tails twisting high about the grass, Matwau turned away from the lake and climbed up the shallow hill behind her. Though she was petite, and no bigger than a tamed cat, her presence was well noted by all the small creatures. Squirrels would dash away upon the smell of her, and the shadow of her tails caused any nearby birds to rush to the air with chirps of warning. Hmp, what annoying and clever snacks they were....
Tilting an ear, Matwau suddenly stopped. Just up ahead, she could hear the foot falls of a Soquili. And it sounded like a small one at that. Hmmm.

Soco looked up at the sky when he heard a bird chirping in warning. What could be spooking the birds on such a pretty day? He looked around and suddenly noticed twin tails dancing through the grass towards him. A cat? With two tails? What it this? That didn't seem normal. "Um excuse me feline why are you scaring thee birds away on such a nice mornin'?" He asked with a slight southern sounding accent to his voice. He didn't feel in danger right now, the poor thing had never been around a skinwalker to know the real danger that was walking towards him. He thought it was a weird cat that was scaring off the birds.
"Its not too nice ta scare off the sweet birds. They fill the air with pretty song and eat the bugs." he said with a bright smile and a small chuckle.

Oh, how Matwau so loved the meals that actually called out to her. It made her range of attack so much easier to accomplish without wasting too much energy on a chase.
Pausing among the grass, the feline flicked her tails in an almost playful manner. And just to add to the demure illusion, she rumbled a soft purr in her throat. The voice of the other Soquili sounded mature, not like the squeaking voice of a youngling like she espected. Crouching and tilting her head, Matwau was able to just make out the others location between the soft blades of grass. So, it was one of those miniature Soquili, was it? Perhaps she should give him a running start, just to see how far his shorter legs could go before failing him. And by then, well she could only imagine how warm his meat will be once she lands the final strike. Delicious.
Flitting her ears forward and alert, Matwau stretched her neck high to reveal herself in the grass. Her golden eyes were nearly slits on her face to keep out the sun....hopefully it didn't look too wicked to give away her intentions. "My my, but what about the one's who eat the birds? Are we to simple starve instead? How....cruel."

Soco looked at the feline as her head cleared the grass and he knew...he just suddenly knew that this was not just a feline of some wild sort. This was a hunter, a meat eater and another Soquili in the form of a cat.
Skinwalker...
Stumbling backwards but keeping his eyes on the feline he watched her cautiously. "Oh well i guess you can eat a few birds then i mean no since in having ya s-starve ta death right? I-I mean theres nothing else...but birds to...eat around here right?" he said nervously as he kept talking slow steps away from the other...Danger...he knew this was danger! His heart was racing and he knew that no matter hat he couldn't do anything to win against a walker!
"M-Maybe i can find ya a nice....um Shrew! Or ahhh hey my herd likes fish i can get you a fish! Cat like fish right?" he said as he tried to think of a way he could out run the feline and get to the safety of the herd again.
