i don't know if i'll ever do this but i wanted the thread anyways so i can make squid jokes, sue me

Medical Horror: Fern was trying to research for this science project, she promises, but then she got onto all these weird unsolved murder cases and oh man did you hear about the Belford Dolphin incident??? Fern is in love with weird, terrible things happening to people's bodies, or unsolved murder cases; they don't gross her out at all, and she loves to research it. After all, with the advance of science, that just means more crazy things happen to people that we can finally explain! She'll jump at the opportunity to talk about them with other people, if you even express the slightest what might be interpreted as interest.
Terrible Crimes: Elisabeth Fritzl? Junko Furuta? Effie loves that stuff. The depths of human depravity are impossible and disgusting, yes, but the more you distance it and treat it like fiction-in-IRL the more okay it is. It's a bit of an interest in psychology, and a bit of interest on what HAPPENED to these people and how they survived - or didn't survive - the terrible things done to them. Like, oh my gosh, have you heard about the 1999 Hello Kitty murder? Damn, that stuff is CRAZY. She tends to prefer actual crimes, and is a member of several internet forums as a popular poster and theorizer on the cause-and-effect behind them.
Rhythm Games: Not so much DDR -- Fern trips over her own feet with that -- but if she has free time, she's playing rhythm games. Project Diva, Pop'n Music, Guitar Hero, even Love Live on occasion: her fingers can move like lightning, and her head will bob to the beat. It's not the music that gets her, it's the gameplay; any mistake is her own error, and god, does she ever love that. She competes in competitions occasionally; she rarely ranks exceptionally high, but 30 bucks here and there is nothing to sniff at.
Virtues:
In-Tune: Effie knows her own body exceedingly well, and she can tell when she's hurt or if her emotions are out of whack. She's good at noticing when other people are Not Okay, too, and she goes a little too far she doesn't mean to - she likes to make sure people are Good And Well. She knows when people are hurting. When they react a little off, when their voice hitches too fast. She's perceptive. This extends to both physical/mental well-being!
Big Sister Instinct: You see these kids? These are her kids, her friends, and if anyone touches them they'll have Fern to deal with. Fern cares very deeply about her friends if they love her back. She loves her friends deeply and more powerfully than she loves anything else, after all. Effectively, Fern's a guard dog for anyone she cares about: even if it only extends so far as how people benefit her, even the most selfish person has people she likes. If she likes being around you, why should she let you go or get hurt?
Flaws:
Drama Queen: Every minor health problem Effie has means that she is developing a FATAL DISEASE. Her health's never been great, but it took a major hit around puberty, when she developed a lot of deficiencies: and when you spend a couple years in-and-out of the doctor's office, you start to get a little paranoid. What actual problems she has are generally either minor and easily compensated for with medication or pass quickly, but WHAT IF the pain she has in her back RIGHT NOW means she has a burst disk??? What if she's going to be CRIPPLED FOR LIFE?? Every bad thing that happens to Fern is the WORST POSSIBLE THING EVER. A 79 on a test? She's going to FAIL OUT OF SCHOOL. It's gotta be about her, and everything that happens is as bad as it can possibly be.
Self-Centered: Second verse, same as the first; it's not that Fern necessarily means to be self-centered, it's just...somehow every conversation she participates in loops back to be around her. She can talk about herself for hours without ever actually saying too much, and she doesn't necessarily mean to downplay your problems, but oh man did you hear about something she's interested in? WILD, that. If she doesn't like you, well you're not important and you can go get pneumonia five times over for all she's interested...but the moment you insult something she likes, she will have a GIGANTIC FIT, like the drama queen she is. Everything is about Fern, Fern, Fern -- and she supposes you're important to, if she cares about you, but only inasmuch as you like her back.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Winged eyeliner, but color otherwise CC. Should be very striking. Wears a pair of rimless metallic glasses with rectangular lenses.
Hair: About shoulder-length; straight as a pin, with barrettes pinning back bangs and a small braid on the side. Dirty blonde.
Face: Lightly tanned, with a sprinkling of freckles and just the barest amount of lip liner.
Clothes: N/A; but Fern tends towards layering -- sports bras, oversized tank tops/t-shirt dresses, leggings, and oversized boots. She likes a blend of clunky and smooth, patterned and solid. Clunky socks, big chunky plastic bracelets, thin and gentle fabric. Every so often, too, she'll wear a little accessory from her youth as a fifth-grade weeaboo and hope the only people who notice it are people who notice it in a positive light. She jingles when she walks: she likes metal!

Senshi: Sailor Cepheus of Squids Challenge: Get inked! Alt: You've gotta be squidding me! Alt 2. YOU EXPECTED A SQUID JOKE, HUH?! Fuku Colour: Main Color: A deep orangeish-red; i.e, giant squids God only knows Secondary Color: A nice sandy beige / and also white!Think about squids. You know what color squids are??? YEP THOSE COLORS. CC, probably, because the color scheme I was thinking about here is Ugly As Sin. Fuku: THINK ABOUT SQUIDS. Squid tentacle bows, maybe a little squid-hat hairbow thing?? Brooch /symbol is either a cute lil' cartoon squid or a squidbeak. Fingerless gloves, a layered bottom...squids. Yo. Squids. Some influence should be taken from the Squid Sisters' outfits. Attacks:Sailor Scout Attack: Cepheus Ink Splash! Sailor Cepheus recites the name of her attack, puffs up her cheeks, and spits ink at her opponent. It's...it's ink. It has a range of about seven feet, and it's enough to stain someone's clothing or mess up their vision if it gets on their face, but...it's ink. There's not really anything you can say about that. The ink itself is magically conjured, and will vanish after 15 seconds. Her attack can be dodged by simply not being in range -- she does need to spit to aim, after all, and that's fallible. Sailor Cepheus can use this attack three times a battle. Super Sailor Scout Attack: Cepheus Ink Jet! Sailor Cepheus recites the name of her attack, puffs up her cheeks, and spits ink at her opponent. This ink jet has a range of approximately ten feet. Besides the fact it's ink, it also has minor poisonous qualities: it will irritate and numb skin that it touches. The ink itself is magically conjured, and will vanish after 20 seconds. Her attack can be dodged by simply not being in range -- she does need to spit to aim, after all, and that's fallible. Sailor Cepheus can use this attack three times a battle. Eternal Sailor Attack: Cepheus Entanglement! Sailor Cepheus' arms are covered by two long tentacles made out of ink; the tentacles can stretch to approximately twenty feet long and each have a clubbed end, much like the longest tentacles of a giant squid. Sailor Cepheus controls these much like she would her own arms, and is able to grab things with them - however, they are not supremely dextrous, and because they're made of ink can be forced to 'pop' and shower ink everywhere by a sharp object. Contact with the ink composing the 'arms' will cause irritation and numbness. Both 'arms' have vaguely defined suckers, although these are not covered with teeth unlike real tentacles, and the arms have the approximate tensile strength of a thick balloon. The tentacles can each carry up to about 60 pounds comfortably, and when combined can carry maybe 120 lbs -- too much strain will pop the tentacles just the same as if they came in contact with a sharp object. If the tentacles are not 'popped', they will stick around for thirty seconds. Sailor Cepheus can use this attack twice a battle, although the second time will cause her serious strain. Sailor Cepheus' attacks should not overlap with Sailor Scylla of the Kraken's, or Sailor Limosa of the Octopus'.

Critting your quest as you requested in the thread!
Hobbies
The purpose of a hobby is to provide a springboard toward RP interactions or to provide solo fodder. It's generally encouraged to have at least one hobby that can be shared interpersonally!
Medical Horror - Does she expound upon this hobby with other people? Has she visited some of the medical horror museums out there? How does this differ from being solely a subcategory to terrible crimes? IE does she look into medical horror that is happenstance (spina bifida, chimera, etc)? I imagine Mengele was a favorite of hers!
Terrible Crimes - Does she watch fictional crime shows, or is it solely sourced to real instances? Does she share this hobby with others in any way?
Rhythm Games - Essentially the same question! Does she use this hobby to interact with others? (Also the clarification that she's into these for the gameplay is quite fun, nice touch!)
Virtues
In-Tune - When you say 'not okay' or 'good and well', are you referring to emotional well-being, physical well-being, or both on the whole? You may also want to admit the part about 'you can go get pneumonia five times' because it takes away from this virtue being a virtue. In general, it's a good idea to sequester the downside to these virtues to the flaws section, or omit them entirely - but that does not preclude them from getting play!
Big Sister Instinct - Again, you may want to strip the part about overprotectiveness and save it for a flaw or omit it from the profile to keep the virtue looking sharp!
Flaws
Hypochondriac - Hypochondriasis is a medical condition and therefore not a valid personality flaw; you may want to change this to paranoid, perhaps, or even overprotective or callous as hinted at in her virtues!
Self-Centered - How do other people look down on her selfishness? This is generally a useful tidbit to include in flaws to show quite clearly how they impact interpersonal interactions (or even strictly herself) negatively.
Senshi Side
OMG SQUID JOKES.
Ink Splash - If it messes up someone's vision, how long does this condition last? Property damage and environmental damage has been restricted on senshi for some time now, so if this ink hit the ground, it would have to magically disappear after a time - did you have a timeframe in mind for that? This attack does bear some resemblance to Limosa's first stage attack, but I think it's different enough in application and effect that a mod may stamp it as is.
Ink Jet - You may want to note the duration of the effects for this attack! Also, is there any way to interrupt her cast or dodge it? From my experience, these are important to note in a senshi profile.
Entanglement - Yesssss tentacles! That's all I have for this attack.
Overall, I think she looks like a very interesting character and a highly entertaining senshi! I hope that, if you choose to pursue her, you have fun playing her! Similarly I'm sure the mods will have fun critting this profile if you've posted for it~

Hi Daekie! Since you have asked for a crit, I just have a few tweaks for her profile that I think her stampable!
As for traits, I think they do flow very well and give me a good picture of her! I am curious to know why she has a protective instinct for others, when based off her flaws, I think she should be only concerned with herself!
Her powered side looks good.
Also LOL @ HER FIRST ATTACK
I think you should bump down her first attack range to 7 feet, and maybe perhaps bump her second attack time to 20 seconds instead of 15? Battles last about five minutes and she's not really OMG DAMAGING MY EYE kind of thing!
For her eternal attack, her range takes a huge jump for what you are proposing and I think you should have a set length for the tentacles. I think 20 feet would be acceptable of a length, as that is almost double her second attack. I'd also like to know some clarification on what she can pick up? How much weight does the arms handle? Do they pop with too much strain?
Okay thats it on my part Let me know what you think and I'll come back around.
