Hobbies:

• Tradeable Card Games: It started with the Pokemon card game when he was young and he eventually graduated to Magic and a few more obscure games like Aquarian Age and Redemption (the latter at his mother's behest). He's pretty into it and has even competed at a tournament level. He didn't get very far, because wow some middle-aged adults are way too into this stuff (like Cruz will totally be one day). The idea of making his own card game intrigues Cruz and he has been writing up rules for a game based on the various terrorist factions of Destiny City which he hopes to be able to market one day.
  
• Photography: Cruz's parents noticed his passion for photography last year when he began filling up their simple point-and-shoot camera's LD card weekly and decided that a much nicer camera would be the perfect birthday gift. Cruz certainly appreciates the gift and is often seen with it in his spare time. He enjoys urban scenes and people as subjects best.
  
• Judo: Cruz has been taking judo lessons since middle school, mostly after his father insisted he choose a sport. He decided a martial art sounded much cooler than football or basketball. It isn't his first passion, but he still enjoys it.
  

Virtues:

• To the point: Cruz doesn't like to beat around the bush. He just says what he thinks needs to be said and gets things done. Sure he'll say other, frivolous things - a lot of frivolous things. But if he wants to make a point or ask a question, he'll put it right out front where everyone can see. He prefers to try and solve disagreements directly instead of agonize over them quietly. In the past, some of his friends have come to rely on him as the one who gets things done.
  
• Friendly: Cruz likes people and likes being their friend. It's rare to see him acting bitterly toward anyone. If he sees someone who looks down, lonely or in need of help, he'll be sure to introduce himself and offer any assistance, cheering or conversation necessary.
  
• Energetic: It is a rare sight to see Cruz tired or lethargic. He's always raring to go for just about anything and everything. Want to go to the bowling alley? Sure thing! Want to go for a hike? Great! Mountain biking? Why not! Dance club afterwards? Heck yeah! Get him a fake ID and he'll be there! Okay, maybe not all of that in one day. His legs will still get sore after all that exercise - he's only human after all - but he doesn't get worn out from just doing things as easily as many people do and has a high tolerance for...no.....thrives in social stimulation.
  

Flaws:

• Open mouth, insert foot: Sometimes Cruz says too much or just the wrong thing. Sometimes it's a crass joke, other times it's an unflattering remark. He isn't usually intending to be malicious, he just doesn't think before he speaks.
  
• Ask Questions Later: Cruz isn't one to ask permission or check to see if he's allowed to do something. He just does it. He tends to just walk into his friends' homes without knocking, simply assuming that he's already welcome.
  
• Self-centered: Cruz has a difficult time realizing that other people have wants, needs and opinions too. It's not that he doesn't care. He just expects people to speak up for themselves and doesn't quite realize that's not how everybody ticks. It's not uncommon that meeker personalities will feel completely overpowered.
