Ignoring someone will not hide their posts and you must refresh to report someone who may be long gone by the time you get back. sweatdrop Are you guys working on this? surprised We're aware of this and right now there isn't a way to fix it, however, what you can do is report the person before you ignore them and then proceed to put them on your ignorelist.

I can't remember any announcements or alerts about its status. ninja I think putting it on the 'Quick Links' bar at the bottom of the screen like how Meebo worked would be awesome. You can instantly see who's on and send them a chat IM instantly; LOVED that back in the day. whee Its still in Beta, but we'll be releasing an announce soon. 3nodding

Now the reason I ask is because sometimes I'm in a chat room with friends and while I do things in the background, I can forget to check to see if someone has posted and because of that It often is a few minutes before I even think about responding. Along with this there should also be the option to turn the sound on and off since there are going to be some people as we know that may abuse the sound and use it to annoy people. No plans at the moment, but definitely a good idea. August 25th, 2015: Narumi Misuhara Sahri ❀ FeaturesQuestion: As I'm a pretty avid user of Gaia Chat I couldn't help but notice that after a while the chat gets pretty laggy for a lot of people, sometimes even for me. This is likely due to the amount of old messages loaded in the chat. Is it possible to implement a script that clears the chat daily at midnight PST/PDT? I think this would alleviate the lagginess of this feature quite a bit for many people. We'll take a look and see what can be done. smile

Some regular users of the chat and I have been sending reports of trolls and spammers for the last few months and the very same users keep coming just to fill it with nonsense and be all-around crass. It would be nice if there was anyone to keep an eye on the chat reports. I'm going to be completely honest, I personally forgot this feature existed. When you upgrade it to HTML5 do you think you could integrate it into the site's footer - the one from the account settings page? That way it follows the user around and is easily accessible. Optionally make the footer mandatory so that everyone has quick access to it and knows it exists, but allow users to "sign out" of the chat - kind of like how Meebo use to work and/or how FB's chat works. That idea has crossed my mind.

I still haven't gotten a response to it or the question it included, the message disappeared from my outbox, and right now there's another, more recent message for them still sitting in my outbox that hasn't been read with a report for another rule breaker. Are they ever going to get addressed, or should we just deal with spammers indefinitely? Codemonkey is going to be updating it to HTML5. Hopefully he adds better anti-spam filters and everything can be properly reported and whatnot. Yes! Just after: 1.Mobile 2.Games 3.Towns Not to mention events, ideas from Lanzer and Locke, and site bugs. But I'd would certainly like to! codemonkey37179 Hospitaliers There was a guy literally telling us he was 10 years old and some chump that cannot stop talking about his d**k and spamming people with female avatars with unsolicited advances and friend requests. Some people go there exclusively to spam and bother people. Someone sent us a link to a porn page. I think keeping an eye on the reports is the least they should do until this gets fixed, if ever. Also, right now, my biggest complaint is the lack of an answer. I was personally told to send a message to an admin, of all people, and I got ignored. Twice. I'm not going to pretend that being an admin is an easy job, but when you ask someone to send you a report on something important, the least you can do is read it and send some signal that you got it. I will see what I can do about the spam.

Do you have any spare time to make the latest be as compatible? Optional: Is there a way to have a Discord function attach to something like Chat? Firefox might be the browser to use moving forward for flash features.

November 14th, 2017: codemonkey37179 Jisen Meizuki FeatureSeeing as how Gaia Chat is going to die due to Flash no longer working properly. Are we going to replace the feature with something else? I know we have Discord, but there are few people who prefer not to use Discord and I see that the livestream uses Chatwee to chat with the community as well as streaming. We hope to replace all the flash content we can with alternatives, including chat. Chatwee may be an option.

August 7th, 2018: codemonkey37179 XII LH1 IIX codemonkey37179 XII LH1 IIX features: chat is it the /launch/chat/ rooms that will be discontinued? or the /launch/chat/ that will be done away with the first one is the ones you can rent from the worlds tab the other one you can click on the forums tab. some clarification would be great while were on the chat info how does this affect guild chat rooms? will they continue at all? No specific plans for that feature at the moment, although eventually we want to replace as much flash content with HTML5 as possible. that don't really help much as recently lanzer said some chat features were being removed now your saying no plans to do anything? it don't make sense was mentioned here in staff updates so which is it? the chat features being removed or not? That was Friend Chat. It was a flash space. Something different entirerly.

February 12th, 2019: Lanzer SmilingHeart Will there be functionality changes to the way Gaians communicate that we can look forward to in the future? Right now communicating to a friend feels like I'm talking to them via snail mail and really lose engagement in the conversation unless we head to Towns/Rally. We've had various chat functions in the past but somehow they never worked that well. How do you like the current Friends Chat feature and what would you like to see changed?

I'm simply wanting to clarify if they are different and/or if I can send and recieve private messages in the app. Please and thank you. smile The new chat feature for Go Gaia app will work more like popular chat features like Google Hangout or WeChat. Unfortunately it's not backwards compatible with the current private messaging system but it should be more responsive and easier to use. We will find ways to add the new system to giaaonline instead.
