Still shocked from everything that had happened Syqvara stood in the street in front of the pile of ashes that had been the Inn. Elyam, her scorra, stood beside her and in her arms was the small kinfa, Drent. Her eyes were red from tears that had been shed almost constantly since the event, but they were also a bit watery. A healer came to check on her, thinking the girl was going to exhaust herself but when Sy didn't respond the healer walked away to tend to the seriously injured. There were shifters that were working to help remove the ash and burned timbers and her green eyes followed them. The leaf girl was waiting to see if they uncovered Ingwe's body.

Talin was hurrying back to the inn. He'd contacted his group, set up plans and had already ordered the raids to begin. Now he just had to go drag his wayward Ingwe and his friend back with him, hopefully they could stand another day's hard pace since it was needed to catch up.
He walked into the town, noting the burn marks on a few people and the smell of ash. What had happened? Following his nose, Talin came to the burned out shell of an inn; where he saw Syqvara and her scorra but no Ingwe.
Frowning, he walked up to her. "What happened here?"

When a familiar voice entered into her thoughts she blinked and turned her head to look at who it was. Talin. Her tears increased. "Th-there was a fire." Quickly she looked back at the scorched wood that was the remains of the building. "I c-can't find Ingwe." It was clear by how she stared that she thought he was in there. Before she could stop them tears spilled over and she started to cry all over again. "Talin... I can't find Ingwe." She trailed off and managed to close her eyes as she started to shake.

Talin stopped, shocked at her words. Couldn't find him? "Ingwe's... wait... You two were in that?"He pointed at the burned inn in front of her. "You... didn't check to see if he was awake or.. got out or..." Talin was used to death; but this was difficult. Death by fighting was fine, but burned to death? No.. Ingwe wasn't so weak as to die in a fire. He chewed his lower lip, looking at the wreckage. If this girl had lived than Ingwe had to.

When Talin asked if they had been in the fire she nodded her head. Sy didn't need to see what he pointed at to know what he was talking about. When more questions followed she seemed to flinch and hug the baby kinfa in her arms more closely. "I-I tried.." There was a sob that escaped her before she opened her eyes to look at the man. "I called for him. I t-tried the door.. but the s-smoke.. I'm sorry."

He scowled... But she had tried... Maybe Ingwe had heard and gotten out in time? Though the boy was a deep sleeper.... "Did you check with the healers or anything?" He saw she was on the verge of tears so he backed off a little, softened his tone. Bawling would be an annoyance and get him no where! He ran a hand roughly through his hair; worried but still certain that Ingwe wouldn't have perished.

She nodded her head. Syqvara made a motion toward the tree across the street. "I was seen by the healer over there. I watched everyone that came." Of course it never occurred to her that there was another healer. Sy was a little too worked up to even realize that Ingwe could have escaped on the other side of the building. To her, the only way out was the front.

Talin eyed the healer. Somehow I don't think one would be enough if the entire place went up in flames.... "Are there other healers? Or could Ingwe have gone out a different window than his room?" No one could just sleep through being burned to death! And Ingwe was a tough boy, weakened walls from a fire shouldn't be bad enough to keep him trapped. He kept his voice soft; Syqvara looked like she was still in shock and being angry or abrupt probably wouldn't help at all....

Other healers? She took pause for a moment then shook her head. "I didn't see any." If she had then Sy would have gone to them right away to investigate. Then again, if a healer had been on the other side of the building.. Her eyes went across the smoldering pile to what she could see. There was no one over there now. "D-do you think he got out another way?" Her eyes went instantly to Talin. She wanted him to tell her she was worried for nothing, that she could stop her crying.

Talin had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Such a cry baby! She should be thinking and searching rather than sitting and crying! Swallowing a sigh he gave a small smile instead; "Ingwe's a smart lad.. he wouldn't just stay put and burn. And I'm certain that a burning building is easy to get out of... besides its only one story up and that's not too far to fall!" He looked around: the one healer was not too busy.. so odds were there were other healers. What town would only send one healer to a burning building anyways?

The reassurance that Talin gave was enough to make Sy give a shadow of a smile. Though she did do something that might startle the man. The leaf girl moved closer to him and threw one arm around him in a hug so that she could cling to him and bury her face against his chest. She needed that right now. Someone to lean on. After all, she thought her friend was dead or at the very least very injured and she couldn't find him.

Talin sighed; not bothering to hide his decreasing patience. Did she have to lean into him? Tears would stain his white shirt! And despite his word she kept crying! Why had he allowed himself to be convinced to take her along by Ingwe? "Crying isn't going to help." he said his tone sharp. "It won't find Ingwe nor bring him back if he did perish."

While his words were sharp she saw the truth in them and to her it was him still being that comfort she needed. So Syqvara sniffled and nodded her head. She shifted so that she could turn her head and look around while still leaning against Talin. "You're right, sorry. I-I'm just scared." In her mind she was trying to think about if there was a way Ingwe could have survived. "D-do you really think he made it out?" Sy couldn't see how, since to her the fire had been all consuming, but if Talin was sure of it then maybe she could believe. Maybe there was a small bit of hope there. Keeping close to the bandit she shivered slightly, the shock sinking in and causing her skin to crawl at the idea of a near death experience. Moving a hand up she wiped at the tears that were left over as she sniffed again, trying to stop her emotions.

Heras Box Talin is being mean.. I think its the remnants from his growth solo. "He is young and naive but not an idiot. He wouldn't have died in his sleep. Knowing him he probably jumped out the window and broke something." Ingwe rolled his eyes. Maybe if this one had died it would have been less annoying.. but then he'd have to deal with Ingwe's tears and grief.... equally annoying! "Since you probably didn't check the rest of the area best we go and find the other healers." Action ought to keep her from crying. Action made people move and stop thinking.
