When she woke up by the pains, she opened her eyes to the white ceiling and clamour. In the dream, she heard the sea waves hitting the shore but everything was merely dark, she didn't know where she was but she couldn't move. Her consciousness only allowed her to feel and sense, between the sea waves, she heard vague indefinite murmurs. Shu felt oddly painful, for a reason she didn't understand, she wanted to hide from the voices but she couldn't.

The whispers became nightmares for her, she had lost her direction. She struggled but she wasn't allowed to open her eyes, it was scary. She clawed her hands out, trying to find something that made her feel safe and comfortable. She was like a helpless drowned person. She wanted to stay on the surface but something underneath pulled her down, she sank and floated in a repeated cycle. There was no ending point for it.

Why do you struggle? What for?

As she heard the voice, she felt a force pushing her down, unbearable and unbreakable. She sensed that her whole body sank into the ocean of darkness. She screamed at the top of her lungs, clawing the surrounding but her hands dropped, she realized once again she was alone.

Accept your fate.

Shu opened her eyes with force applied, the images blurred under the bright lights of the infirmary. There was no ocean. Her head followed her eyes to check the surrounding, people on beds and people walking around. She blinked and blinked, confirmed where she was. "I....." She felt her lips dry and her voice coarse. She wanted to move to a comfortable position, sat up but the whole body hurt. Every single part of it ached, especially her calf. Bearing the pain, she released the tight grasp on the blanket and flipped the edge over. Her calf - it was wrapped in layers of bandages and a pink-red color barely appeared on the surface.

A dagger placed on the top of the cabinet next to her bed, it was the weapon she used to attack that monster she remembered, but what about the rest? She thought, and then groaned with the awful headache that stopped it.

Keys and Things

Horace, having been denied entrance to Oliver's curtained off area again (it was honestly starting to piss him off, just a bit), wandered the infirmary, checking to see where a certain little death hunter was. Horace had though that, on twitter, he hadn't seen anyone offer to feed her minipet. If Horace was honest, he really really didn't like the little things, but there was no reason to let one die.

He pulled the curtain aside and poked his head in. "Knock, knock, Shu. How banged up are you?"

Keys and Things

Horace grimaced sympathically. Broken bones weren't fun and the infirmary was boring. "I came to visit you, Shu." He grinned and spread his arms out. "I hope you've not got any broken bones, though - luckily we heal relatively quickly. I had to stay for a while, though." Normally, Horace would have pulled up a chair and scooted closer, but he was here only for a quick moment.

"Shu - you said your minipet needs food. If you give me your room key, I can feed it while you're out. I, uh, don't know what it eats, though." He shrugged.

Keys and Things

"You don't know? You didn't keep a minipet?" She blinked like it was a surprise because they were Death hunters and their division was known for collecting information. "They only take fear candies. The key.....AH! It's in my bag." She tilted her head, drawled with words until she remembered where it was. "Over there." Inside the bag, Horace would see two vials of liquid together with some candies. "The key's in the small pocket." She instructed him to get it. "The fear candies, I kept them in a small pink pouch. On the pouch, it had a white creature with red eyes on it."

She smiled, "I usually gave him three a day, one when I wake up in the morning, one after lunch, and one after night duty. Be careful, he's not so nice to strangers (not even to Shu)." The said minipet had an appearance resembled one of the people she admired so much. "Thank you Horace, thank you for taking care of him and visiting." She beamed genuinely.

"Yup, hopefully not broken bones and I can leave soon! Here's too boring." Shu sighed, flopped onto the blanket on her lap.

Bad Leg
Roland hobbled over to the bed shaking his head, "Naw just a twist now. I uhh apparently tried jumping from a height of ill advise without a shield and messed up my leg. I should be good in a few days really now that we have our shields back."

There was a slight roll of his eyes, that was for Sylvia though.

"So you got banged up too huh?" He leaned down giving her a hug but quickly pat her shoulders, "Don't go trying to give everyone a hug you'll end up straining yourself if you keep trying to get up like that yeah?"

Bad Leg

Roland rolled his eyes again sticking his tongue out at the smaller hunter as she teased him. "Yeah I think that was what it was trying to do, I was trying to find something, someone and just ended up crippling myself and flopping about like a fish or something." He puffed his cheeks and poked her in the forehead pushing her down into the bed gently even as she laughed and wailed about a lack of hugs.

"If you need some hugs I'll bring you a pile of pacas and Jeb from your room though I think the docs would complain about them all piled in your bed."

Keys & Things

"I'm just not fond of minipets." They were creatures of fear and an odd choice to keep as a pet. It wasn't like they were real animals. Horace would, of course, take good care of Shu's pet. because it meant something to her, he just didn't particularly care about it. "You be careful, Shu, even with our shields, broken bones aren't fun." He looke dher over with a critical eye.

I better head out - I bet its starving. You need anything from your room?"

Licking Our Wounds

Nellie had been meaning to pay Shu a visit at the infirmary for a while now ever since she came to know over Twitter about the whereabouts and current state of heath of the sweet and petite Death Intermediate. It was pretty much something that was easier said than done given her own incapacitating injuries but she made it eventually. Even if it was a few days later which in hindsight was probably a good thing since she highly doubted that anyone could recognise her easily beneath the bandages that covered her face and made her look as if she had just come out of plastic surgery.

Hugging close to the wall, the Mist slowly made her way from her room to the one that Shu was in, checking the name that was indicated on the wall adjacent to the door to ensure that she had gotten the right room before knocking tentatively and entering. "... S-Shu?"
