Betoto Post 1

A quick figure jumped up and slashed a wooden sword against a training post, the same stance and move since the beginning of the day. Betoto wiped her forehead as she looked up at the sky. The sun was already high and the humidity just added to the warmth radiating off the ground. She quickly dropped the fake sword off at her father's stable and decided that was enough practice for now.

As her feet traveled her into the town, she noticed a green figure a little distance away moving fluently around as music was playing. Her curiosity got the best of her and by the time she knew it, she was watching intently on the fluid motions the woman did.

Her mind raced, wanted to do that as well, and once the music stopped, she walked closer and gave a questionable look. How do you do that so effortlessly?" She asked as she tried to mimic some of the moves. Tried is a bit of an understatement though because the moment Betoto tried turning, her bumm was on the ground.

Niadra had no performances scheduled for the day, but that didn't meant she wasn't going to dance. She always danced. On this particular she wad dancing for a bunch of younglings while one of the people in her troupe played the harp. It was soothing.

Before she knew it there as another girl standing in front of her, trying to mimic what she was doing. Niadra wanted to laugh, it was amusing, but she knew not everyone was okay with that kind of thing. Extending a hand towards Betoto she smiled. "It's not so effortlessly. What you see is years and years of practice."

Betoto Post 2

Betoto took the woman's hand and gave a sheepish smile. "You make it look so easy. I wish I could do something remotely close to that." She patted the dirt off her behind as the younglings helped with the spots she missed. She might have looked more feminine like her mother but being raised by her father and brother, she was the complete opposite, a blunt and clumsy mess, at least out side of the battle field... or practice ring.

She tried to stand gracefully but it instead came off as a gangling mess, so she traded the pose for a more confident one that she knew she could hold. A hand on her hip, she smiled. "Would you teach me how to be more like... Well.... You?"

"I'm sure that there are things you could do that I couldn't do in my wildest dreams." she reassured the girl. The girl didn't seem like a dancer, or someone who played music, so Niadra assumed that she was a fighter. That was something that she would have never been able to do. As soon as the younglings were done brushing the dirt off the girl they scattered off.

"More like me? Like how to dance? I can show you a few basic moves?" she wasn't sure how easy that would be, the girl didn't look like dancing was her thing. Just the fact that she had fallen while spinning made Niadra doubt she could teach the girl anything. Some people were just meant to dance, and some weren't. This girl didn't seem like she was, but Niadra would try her hardest as long as this did the same.

Betoto Post 3

Betoto smiled when the woman complimented her without even knowing what she did. But guessing it wasn't that hard to see since she wasn't well-balanced, that she obviously was not into anything entertaining.

Betoto gave a smile and a slight nod. "Just to help me be lighter on my feet at least. As you can see my balance is pretty bad when I'm not practicing." She gave a chuckle. "Though when I'm in the fighting zone, well, that's another story." Extending her hand, she gave a wide grin. "I'm Betoto. And I'd love you to teach me just a couple of things."

She nodded. "That I think I can do, or at the very least I can give you pointers in the right direction." she took the other girls hand. "My name's Niadra, it's a pleasure to meet you." she smiled brightly. It was always nice to make a new friend, and especially on days like this where she would be bored otherwise.

"Well for starters do you wanna go somewhere else? I don't mind staying here, but if you want I'm sure there are other places around here that have less people." she looked around briefly before turning her gaze back towards Betoto. The girl didn't seem like the kind that cared if people were watching her, but one could never be too sure.

Betoto Post 4

Betoto shook Niadra's hand before looking around. She had a point, and with the busy day starting, everyone was going in and out of close by buildings. She didn't care if people were watching her, as long as she was doing it right, so until then.... Less populated areas sounded nice to the leaf girl. "We can go behind my father's stable. It's pretty shady too so we won't get this heat too."

She led her new acquaintance to the shaded area she spoke of and gave a hand swipe, to show the room that they had. "This should work, right?" She asked as she turned to Niadra.

She nodded, happy that the girl had another place in mind. She remembered how much falling she did when she was first learning and wanted to spare the girl the embarrassment.

As soon as they were there she smiled. "This is perfect." Okay where did she start. There were so many things she could teach the girl, but if she just wanted to learn to be more graceful and fluid outside of the battle field Niadra didn't know where to start. "You said you have better balance when you're fighting? Show me how you stand then." she asked. That was a good step in the right direction.

Betoto Post 5

Betoto was glad that Niadra liked the spot they went to, since it was her area when the men in her house would practice on the other side of the stable. She listened intently to the girl across from her and nodded, placing her feet in the exact form she was in just this morning.

Her feet were slightly apart, and her left leg was behind the right. Her arms moved more gracefully than her normal daily basis, and her right hand stayed above her head as her left one went to match her leg. "This is how I usually start." She said as she waited for her new 'instructor' into nimbleness.

She walked around Betoto, nodding while she did so. "It's a good stance, I can see why you'd be more agile while fight." she stopped once she was in front of Betoto. "However it won't work for an every day stance. We have to find a way to make it work... Can do you do me a favor and just do a few exercises you'd do before fighting?" that would give her a better idea of what she was working with.

This was fun. She'd taught a few younglings before, but nothing like this.

Betoto Post 6

With a quick nod, Betoto slowly changed her stance, so that Niadra would be able to have a better look, and soon it almost felt like her first day of practice. She lowered her arms into a more defensive stands, both slightly crossed in front of her but her legs practically stayed at the same spot.. She made a couple of swings in the air, though it would be more considered as blocking. It was easy for her to leave her legs were they were but she knew her new friend would like variety

From the defensive stance, her feet came together and she placed her right hand on top of her left, as if she were holding her sword and moved swiftly, pretending to jab and slash at the air around her. "Does this help at all?" She said before releasing her hands to use a single handed technique her father taught her brother recently. Her left hand naturally placed itself behind her back while her right pretended to do a couple more cuts before resting it to her side.

"Well for starters it leaves me impressed. I would hate to face you with a weapon." she confessed. She had almost forgotten what she was doing, so enthralled with watching the other girl. It was a completely different kind of grace that she emitted, one that Niadra knew she would never be able to.

"But on a more serious note it does. The way you walk normally is nothing like how you are moving here. Your center of gravity is different." she wasn't sure how else to put it and hoped that the girl understood. "The transaction between defense and offense, I think that that flow is what you have to hold on to. Try to capture that flowiness and use it to walk." she was a horrible teacher.

Betoto Post 7

A slight blush appeared on Betoto's face. She had never been complimented, mainly for the fact that she always practiced here and no one knew, but she liked that Niadra was liking her movements. "Thanks." She said with a smile. She didn't know what else to say so she let the woman continue.

Nodding furiously, Betoto actually understood what she was saying. Though, could she preform it? That was the bigger problem. She kept the thought as if she was still battling, and tried to step toward Niadra. the first step was pretty okay and it slowly got better.... Until she thought she could relax a bit. The movement her body changed its aura, she stumbled on her feet and fell in front of her. After making sure she wasn't hurt anywhere, a laugh escaped her lips.

She was excited that it worked - somewhat, but her falls always made her laugh anyways. It was one thing Betoto did well when she wasn't fighting. She always kept a positive outlook on her clumsiness, or really anyones. "If you can't laugh at yourself, you're a prude:" Her brother always told her that.

She watched the girl, looking more at her feet then anything else. She wasn't fit for a stage, but she could see it getting better and better with every step. And then all of a sudden Betoto was on the floor and Niadra was at her side offering a hand to help her up. Although at first she was worried at hearing Betoto's laughter she laughed herself.

"You were doing so good!" she complimented. "Can I ask what ran into your mind that made you fall?" she assumed it was a stray thought, they sometimes messed up her own rhythm, but she wasn't sure. Everyone was different, and she was pretty sure that someone who was a fighter would have better skills of concentration then her. After all if she messed up it just meant the performance would be a little messed up, for a battler it could cost them their life.

Betoto Post 8

Betoto used the offered hand to help stand back up before shrugging her shoulders. I'm not too sure, I just felt myself relaxing and, poof, it was gone." She said before giving a smile. "But that's the least clumsy I've been all week!" She said with a chuckle.

Before Niadra could say anything, Betoto was already back at her starting point before she gave a wave. "I'm gonna try one more time." She said before she brought her mind into fighting stance again, but her body stayed 'normal.' Right foot. Left foot. Slowly she walked over to Niadra and didn't realize it until she was in front of her, but she had made it the whole couple of feet. Her eyes went a bit wide and she quickly stopped walking, praying she didn't trip again.
