This battle would not be an easy one, but it was an important part of their training. Shadow dutifully took her place on the stadium. The legendary pokemon had lived most of her life avoiding others; until she'd met Zin years ago, she'd always run from battle. Her trainer's renewed interest in battling reminded the mew of her own mortality, and the importance of being strong for when running was not possible.
"Let's do our best, Lenore!" Zin called to her friend. "And Shadow," she added more quietly to the mew, who merely flicked her tail in reply.

Lenore walked into the stadium with her hand on Sheoldred's pokeball in her pocket. Pulling it out, she sent out the butterfree before calling out to Zin. "Yeah."

The rock hit Sheoldred in the face, and she slammed into the ground. Pushing up slowly, the butterfree screeched in rage before sending a huge amount of blood rushing for the mew.

Sheoldred landed just in time to be hit by another rock and this time she didn't get up. Returning Sheoldred to her pokeball, Lenore waved and left to meet Zin and the pokemon center.
