For once, Zebo was more eager than Zin for this battle. It was his chance to interact with the beautiful Nel again; he felt that he hadn't made the best impression last time, but he was sure to make amends now and impress her with his strength.
"Be serious," Zin warned the liepard. He only purred in response, which was not altogether encouraging.

Nel stepped gracefully next to Lenore as the two entered the stadium. As they reached the edge of the platform, the gardevoir froze at the sight of her opponent. Oh, no. She ducked her head and blushed as she remembered their last encounter.
"el...? Nel!"
Lenore's voice broke her out of her stupor, and the gardevoir looked over at her. "Something wrong?"
Nel flailed about, distraught. "Of course there is! In our last battle, you made me ki - ki - ki - ki -.... You made me do something weird! And now it's making me think weird things!"
Lenore tilted her head, oblivious. "What did I do?"
Nel closed her eyes and telepathically shouted at the girl, causing her to cringe. "Nevermind! Just forget it, stupid!" With that, she teleported down to the concrete floor, eager to be away from the oblivious girl. Opening her eyes, she saw she had teleported out of the frying pan and into the fire. Zebo was right there.
Oh, Arceus, why?

"Thunder Wave!" Zin commanded.
"(Let's dance!)" Zebo winked before sending a weak jolt of electricity toward Nel.

Nel was thankful that Lenore wasn't making her do something weird, yet, and danced out of the way, firing a light at the liepard as she went.

Zebo closed his eyes against the light and managed to avoid getting confused. He chased after his opponent-slash-crush gleefully. He wrapped his tail around her leg flirtatiously, his fur crackling with electricity.

Nel was caught off guard as the liepard wrapped his tail around her leg, and especially caught off guard by the point blank paralysis. She shuddered as electricity ran through her, slowing her movements.
"Use Disarming Voice!"
Nel opened her mouth to try and sing the devastating melody.

Zebo was pleased to hear Nel's voice again, although it was disorienting.
At Zinnia's command, he said, "(Let me make it up to you later, babe. How 'bout a date?)"
He regretfully lashed at the nearly-immobile pokemon with ghostly claws before waiting for her answer.

Blushing furiously, Nel's mouth moved wordlessly at Zebo's proposition, unsure what to say.
Up in the trainer's box, Lenore had no idea what was going on, and likely inadvertently saved Nel by calling out another disarming voice attack. Nel went to sing, but found it difficult to open her mouth to do so.
