Zin skipped into the stadium with one hand resting lightly on the shiny liepard's back. They walked up the steps together, and Zebo rubbed his head affectionately against Zinnia's waist before leaping lightly down to his place on the plain stadium floor.
"Let's do it, Zebo, Lenore!" the pigtailed trainer called gleefully.

Lenore nodded at Zin's enthusiastic greeting with a smile. Pulling Nelis'viel's pokeball out of her pocket, she sent out the newly evolved gardevoir, who landed gracefully on the floor. Curtsying, she bowed her head to the liepard.

Zebo's eyes widened at the sight of the gardevoir. She was the most beautiful pokemon he'd ever seen, even considering that she was outside his egg group.
"Zebs, use Pursuit!" Zin commanded.
Arceus, I'd love to pursue her, the liepard thought wistfully before unsheathing his claws and charging at his opponent.

Nelis'viel was hit by the liepard's attack, and she slid backwards from the impact. Lenore called out a command. "Nel, use Disarming Voice!" The gardevoir closed her eyes and smiled. Then, she sang a note that seemed to shake the ground.

Zebo took a dizzy step backward at the sound of the gardevoir's voice. He didn't think he'd ever heard a more beautiful sound, even if it did rattle his eardrums.
"Shadow Claw!" Zinnia shouted over the din.
"(Hey, baby, do you like it rough?)" Zebo purred. He licked the claws on one forepaw, leaving a ghostly residue behind. He groomed the other paw, and soon all of his claws burned with an ethereal flame. He crouched, then sprang for Nel. He did not aim for her face-- he wouldn't want to scar something so pretty-- but he did aim for her dress, as it already looked fairly shredded.

Confused, the gardevoir tilted her head. What did he - oh. Oh. Nel blushed furiously as she realized what the liepard was inferring. The liepard cut through her already tattered dress, and the fabric hung loose. "Keep it up, Nel!" She focused - tried to, at least - on singing.

The liepard grinned toothily at the sight of the gardevoir's blush. Cute, he thought. Then her song returned, and he had to concentrate on not falling over.
"Keep your head in the game!" Zin scolded. "Shadow Claw!"
The ghostly residue still clung to his claws, so Zebo flew to meet his beautiful opponent once more.

Nel was cut again, and a piece of her dress fell to the ground. However, she focused on Lenore, and the girl's calm demeanor spread through her. No longer blushing, she continued to sing.

Zebo flattened his ears, more ashamed that he'd torn her dress rather than disturbed by her song. He was getting tired now, but he couldn't give up, as much as he wanted to. "(Sorry...)" he offered, wondering if he'd ruined his chances with the gardevoir.
"Keep it up!" Zin commanded.
"(Sorry about this, too!)" he said as he pounced.

Nel barely heard the liepard, calm as she was. "Dodge and use Draining Kiss, Nel!" Still feeling Lenore's calmness, Nel sidestepped the liepard before leaning over and giving him a quick peck on the cheek. No longer focusing on Lenore, the gardevoir belatedly realized what she'd just done and blushed furiously, looking away.

Zebo sat back on his haunches and blinked, almost glad to give his energy away to his opponent. The implication of what she'd just done slowly sank in through his skull, and his tail shot straight up, a happy cat indeed.
"This is no time for flirting!" Zinnia scolded. "Shadow Claw!"
Zebo was practically purring as he danced forward for another swipe. This was no battle any more, not for him; it was a game.

Nel was too busy blushing to even notice Zebo coming at her. He cut through her dress again. "Try that again, Nel!" Nel wanted to protest, but instead she blew a kiss to the liepard before burying her face in her hands.

Zebo struggled to remain on his feet, but his energy was quickly sapped by the kiss. He struggled to focus on Nel, but his vision blurred. "(Thank... you...)" he managed to murmur sluggishly.
"Don't give up!" Zin said. "Shadow Claw!"
Zebo wasn't sure what the point was by that point, but he swiped a feeble paw anyway. He was pretty sure that wasn't the proper way to impress a lady, but he wasn't thinking clearly by that point.
